First, we encourage you to pray for your neighbor. It may be difficult, especially when his actions are inconsiderate, but prayer has the power to soften hearts and change circumstances. Jesus taught us in Matthew 5:44, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you." Ask the Lord to give you a heart of compassion toward your neighbor and to open his eyes to the impact of his behavior.
We also suggest approaching your neighbor with kindness and humility. Proverbs 15:1 reminds us, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." You might gently explain how his loud conversations on the balcony affect you and ask if he would be willing to move to a different area when he needs to talk on the phone. If he is receptive, this could be a simple solution. If he is not, you may need to involve building management or another mediator to help resolve the issue.
