Pray for my grandmother

I previously requested prayer that my grandmother would have the strength to take her medicine for a uti so she wouldn't be hospitalized and she was able to take it and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital.they say she is stable please pray they can heal her and bring her home soon fully recovered and she never has to be this sick again.please pray in Jesus name she isn't delirious in the hospital being admitted worsens her delirium and makes her combative and scared since she has altered mental status and is ### please pray in Jesus name

We join you in thanking God that your grandmother was able to take her medicine and we continue to lift her up before the throne of grace together in Jesus' name. We understand how heavy your heart must feel seeing her taken by ambulance to the hospital even after she did take the medication, and how concerning it is when a urinary tract infection in an elderly loved one leads to altered mental status, delirium, and fear.

We are praying for her complete healing and for peace over her mind and body while she is in the hospital. We pray that the Lord will calm her confusion and fear, and that He will give the doctors and nurses wisdom and gentleness as they care for her.

The Lord has compassion for her in her advanced age and in her sickness. We are reminded that Yahweh will sustain him on his sickbed, and restore him from his bed of illness Psalm 41:3, and that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. We cling to the promise that even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear. Yes, I will carry, and will deliver Isaiah 46:4. We also remember Bless Yahweh, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3.

We pray against the delirium and agitation that comes with this infection and with being in the hospital. We know hospitalization can be so disorienting and frightening for those with altered mental status. We pray for a supernatural peace to guard her mind. For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. We pray that she will feel the presence of the Lord with her even when she is confused and afraid, for He says Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. We also pray In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, and we thank You that this dear grandmother is stable. We ask in Jesus' name that You would touch her body and heal this infection completely. We ask that You would clear her mind from delirium and confusion, that You would take away fear and combativeness and replace it with Your perfect peace. Let her feel Your nearness and the comfort of familiar loving voices. Give skill and compassion to every doctor, nurse, and caregiver who tends to her, and guide them to the right treatment to bring her to full recovery. We ask that You would strengthen her body so she can return home soon and that You would protect her from ever being this sick again according to Your perfect will. We also lift up her family, grant them peace, strength, and rest as they wait and worry, and help them to trust You in this difficult time. It is so hard to see someone you love in that state. In older adults, an infection like a UTI along with dehydration, new medicines, and being in an unfamiliar hospital room can make confusion and delirium worse for a time. That fluctuating confusion is quite common in the hospital, and the medical team is in the best place to treat the underlying cause while keeping her safe and comfortable. A quiet, well lit room and gentle, orienting reassurance about where she is and what is happening can help her feel more secure.

If you are able to be in touch with her nurses, you might ask what would most help orient and calm her right now, whether bringing her glasses, hearing aids, a familiar blanket or photo would help, and whether brief, calm visits are best. It can also help to write down your questions for the doctors and have one family member keep notes on what they share about her care and next steps.

We are praying for her healing according to the Lord's will, for her fear to ease, and for strength for you as you wait and advocate for her.

Father, we lift this precious grandmother to You in Jesus' name. Please touch her body, clear this infection, calm her mind and ease her fear and confusion. Give wisdom to her doctors and nurses and give this family Your peace as they trust You day by day. We ask for Your healing and Your will for bringing her home. Amen.

Your earnest request concerning your dear grandmother has been heard with much tenderness of heart, and we join you in carrying her case to the great Physician. How merciful is the Lord that though she required to be taken by ambulance to the hospital, she is now stable, and that He gave her strength to take the medicine appointed for her. We do not forget that even this mercy came from His hand.

We are reminded that our Lord once entered a house that had become as a hospital, for Peter's wife's mother lay sick of a great fever, and He took her by the hand and lifted her up, and the fever left her. So still He draws near to the bed of affliction. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. As it is written, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing virtue. He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds, and in His divine hospital there never was a patient whom He turned away as incurable. He is able to save to the uttermost, and His compassion fails not.

Let us pray together in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

O gracious Father, we come before Thy throne of grace through the blood of Thy Son, and we lift up this beloved grandmother before Thee. Thou knowest her frame, Thou hast numbered her days, and Thou seest her now in the hospital, stable yet weak, and troubled with altered mind and delirium. Lord, lay Thy healing hand upon her. Be pleased to use the means appointed, the skill of physicians and nurses, and prosper the treatment for this infection, that she may be fully recovered and restored. We ask that Thou wouldst calm her fears when she is confused and combative, and grant her quietness of spirit and peace that she may not be terrified. Let Thy presence be her comfort in that strange place, and let kindness surround her from those who care for her.

We pray that Thou wouldst clear her mind and give her rest, and if it be Thy will, bring her home again in due time, strengthened and preserved from this great sickness. Above all, we pray that pardon and healing may be joined together in her soul, for with Thee there is forgiveness that she may be healed in heart as well as in body, and that whether in health or in sickness she may know the healing virtue that flows from Christ our Head.

Comfort also those who love her and watch with anxious hearts. Give them patience, faith and hope, and help them to rest in Thy wise and tender providence, knowing that Thou doest all things well.

We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, the Sun of Righteousness who rises with healing in His wings, trusting Thy mercy and Thy will. Amen.
