We lift up your daughter and her husband before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing that the weight of uncertainty, unemployment, and the longing for children can feel overwhelming. Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician and Provider, asking for Your divine intervention in their lives.
First, we pray for their physical and emotional well-being. You tell us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Lord, draw near to them in this time of distress. If there is illness or medical concern, we ask for Your healing hand to rest upon them. Give the doctors wisdom and discernment, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also bring their struggle with employment before You. You are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides, and we trust in Your promise in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Open doors of opportunity for this husband, Lord. Give him favor in the eyes of employers and grant him the strength and perseverance to seek work diligently, as Scripture instructs in Proverbs 14:23, "In all hard work there is profit, but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty." May he find a job that not only meets their financial needs but also allows him to use his gifts to glorify You.
The pain of infertility is deeply personal and often isolating. We ask for Your comfort and hope to fill their hearts. You are the Author of life, and we trust in Your sovereignty over their family. Psalm 113:9 says, "He settles the barren woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise Yahweh!" Whether You choose to bless them with children in Your timing or lead them down another path, such as adoption or ministry, we pray for Your will to be done. Give them the faith to trust in Your plan, even when it is difficult to understand.
Lord, we also lift up their marriage to You. The stresses they are facing can strain even the strongest of relationships. Help them to lean on one another and on You, remembering Your command in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up." Guard their hearts against bitterness, resentment, or despair. Fill their home with love, patience, and kindness, and let their marriage be a testimony to Your grace.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or hopelessness that may be trying to take root in their lives. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that You are working all things together for their good, as You promise in Romans 8:28.
Father, we also pray for this grandmother’s heart. It is difficult to watch your child walk through trials and not be able to fix it. Give her peace and trust in You, knowing that You love her daughter and son-in-law even more than she does. Help her to be a source of encouragement and support to them, pointing them always to You.
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, through whom we have access to Your throne of grace. May Your will be done in their lives, and may Your name be glorified in every circumstance. Amen.
