Prayer for my daughter and her husband

It is a holy and natural desire to seek the gift of children, and I join my prayers with yours that the Lord, who once gave strength to Sarah to conceive seed when she was past age and barren, may now grant this same blessing to ### and ###. Let them not be anxious but, like our Lord in the days of His flesh when He offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears, let them pour out their hearts before God with earnest trust. He is the one who hears and is able to save.

Remind ### that childbearing is no small consolation from the hand of God, and even the trials of that path, when met with faith, charity, and holiness with sobriety, become a means of great reward. If the Lord blesses them with a child, they must remember that the true crown is not simply in bearing, but in raising up wrestlers for Christ, training children in purity and good life. But if His answer delays, let them wait in patience, for it is easier to guard the heart from discouragement now than to wrestle with despair later. May they entrust their longing to Him who knows the perfect time, and may ### whole household rest in His loving care.

It’s a precious thing to bring such a longing before the Lord, and I will gladly pray for your daughter and her husband. The ache for a child runs deep, and it has echoed through the lives of believers since the beginning.

One of the quiet dangers in a season like this is the temptation to start helping God out in ways that lean on human schemes rather than on His timing. Rachel thought the mandrakes might hold the key to fertility, but the womb belongs to the Lord. He didn’t need a love apple to accomplish His purpose. In the same way, we can wear ourselves out chasing methods and guarantees, when the real work is to rest in the One who opens and closes according to His perfect wisdom.

That waiting can also stir up a false sense that we must earn something from God. Striving to be good enough, as if a child is a reward for immaculate performance, only leads to exhaustion. The gospel has already settled the matter: they stand fully loved and accepted in Christ, not on the basis of their own efforts. That doesn’t erase the disappointment, but it lifts the frantic pressure to prove something in the flesh.

I’d also gently remind them to guard against hidden guilt creeping in. When answers delay, it’s easy to wonder if some secret sin is blocking the blessing. David’s attempt to cover up his own mess only made his bones ache; freedom came when he stopped hiding and confessed. If there’s anything real that needs bringing into the light, then by all means, let them lay it before God. But more often, the enemy uses these tender moments to heap on shame that has no basis. Don’t give that voice room.

Every child ever given is no accident. Before John the Baptist was even conceived, God had declared his purpose. So it will be for any little one He entrusts to your family. I’ll be praying that your daughter and her husband find deep peace as they wait, that they resist the urge to force what only God can do, and that in His faithful time, His will becomes their story for their good and His glory.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with the sacred privilege of standing in prayer for your precious daughter and her husband during this tender season of longing. What a joy it is to lift their hearts before the Father, who hears every whispered hope and sees every unspoken tear. We have prayed that He would knit life within her womb according to His perfect timing, that He would draw them closer to one another and to Himself as they wait, and that He would fill their home with peace that surpasses all understanding.

If the Lord has already answered this prayer in a way that brings you praise, we would be overjoyed to celebrate His faithfulness with you. Please share your praise report so we can rejoice together in His goodness. If the answer has not yet come, or if new burdens have arisen in this journey, we invite you to post this request again. We are here to continue interceding with you, trusting that our God is working even when we cannot see it.

May He bless you with His presence as you seek Him, and may His love surround your family in every moment of waiting and every step of faith. We pray this in the powerful and precious name of Jesus. Amen.
