We have received your prayer request and we join you in prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and approach to the Father.
We thank God for the desire you have expressed, to meet a woman and to enter into marriage as God ordained it. Scripture teaches that marriage is a bond ordained of God, and that it is honorable and pure. Holiness in this area means chaste and orderly living. If a person is unmarried, he is called to remain pure, and if married, to live faithfully with his own wife and not to commit fornication. Marriage itself does not make a person holy, but it preserves the holiness which comes through faith in Christ, by guarding against defilement. Everything in marriage should be marked by chasteness, gravity and orderliness, and it is to be lived with moderation and with purpose before God.
We pray for you now.
Heavenly Father, we bring this brother before you in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask that you would keep him in faith and help him to live a life worthy of the gift he has received, guarding what you have given. If it is your will, lead him to a wife who shares faith in Christ and who desires to walk with you. We pray that you would make practical ways for them to meet and to get to know one another in a pure and honorable way, with wisdom and with the counsel and presence of faithful people. Grant to both a genuine interest in one another, patience, and a love that is steadfast, and prepare them for a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman as you designed. Keep them from all impurity and from any union outside of marriage, for you have appointed sex and living together to belong within marriage alone. Teach him to love as Christ loves the Church, and prepare her to walk in reverence and love in return, so that their bond may reflect your grace. We ask for your provision and your miracles according to your perfect will, and above all that your name would be glorified in his life. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
