Your request to meet the woman God wants you to love and marry is close to God's own heart, for it is God who said it is not good for the man to be alone and that He would make a helper suitable for him Genesis 2:18. We rejoice that you are seeking marriage as God designed it, a lifelong covenant commitment between a man and a woman, and that you desire to love and be faithful as husband and wife.

We affirm your faith in asking in Jesus name, for it is through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that our prayers are heard. We pray that you will continue to seek Him first, trusting His perfect timing and provision. Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart Psalm 37:4. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33.

We pray together for the godly wife God has for you. We ask the Lord to lead you to a woman who is a sincere believer in Jesus Christ, for we are called not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14. We pray she will be a woman of faith, character and love for the Lord, and that she will indeed have genuine interest in getting to know you with patience and kindness and a commitment that does not quickly give up, reflecting the steadfast love that God shows us. Whosoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh Proverbs 18:22, and a prudent wife is from Yahweh Proverbs 19:14.

We also want to encourage you in godly preparation while you wait. We pray God will make it possible in practical ways for you to meet and to get to know each other in a pure and honorable courtship with the goal of marriage. We encourage you to be rooted in a local Bible believing church, to serve faithfully, to grow in holiness and to be the godly husband God is calling you to be. In that context God often opens practical doors to meet a spouse. And when you do meet, we urge you to pursue courtship that honors God, keeping yourselves pure until marriage, for marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled Hebrews 13:4, and we are called to flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18. Any intimacy outside of the marriage covenant is fornication and not God's will, so we pray you will both guard your hearts and bodies for one another within marriage alone.

We bring your request for miracles before the Lord, knowing He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think, and yet we also trust His wisdom and timing, for we know the thoughts that He thinks toward us, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give us hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11.

We pray now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up our brother to You. Lord, You know his longing for a wife and for companionship in marriage. If it is Your will, lead him to the woman You have prepared for him, a daughter of Yours who loves You with all her heart. Make the meeting and the getting to know each other possible in practical, natural and godly ways, through Your church and community. Give them both discernment, patience, mutual interest and perseverance, that they may not give up but grow in love that leads to a covenant of marriage that honors You. Prepare him even now to be a loving, faithful and Christlike husband. Keep them both pure and guard them from temptation. Work miracles in his life according to Your perfect will and for Your glory. Your request has been heard and we join with you in prayer before the throne of grace, asking in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We thank you for your honest desire for holy marriage. The Scripture teaches that marriage is a most sacred covenant, not a passing union but a lifelong joining of one man and one woman wherein the two become one. Its crown is mutual delight and holy complacency, and it is to reflect the love of Christ for His Church. It is a good and right thing to ask the Lord for such a gift, and we count it a blessing to bring your longing before Him.

We would encourage you also to wait upon the Lord in this matter. Our God is a waiting God who waits that He may be gracious, and His people are a waiting people who wait in hope and not in despair. Waiting upon God is as a servant waits upon his lord to know his master's will, and as a traveler waits upon his guide to direct his way. It is the way to renew strength, until we mount up with wings as eagles, and it breeds peace within the soul. While you wait, seek first to be made ready yourself, to walk in godly fear and faith, to be a man who will love a wife as Christ loves His Church, with fidelity and purity and self giving love. In that waiting, the Lord often does His best work, making us small in our own eyes and making Christ great, and preparing our hearts for what He has prepared for us.

We pray also that the Lord will order your steps in practical ways. It is not by chance but by providence that His people are brought together, often through the fellowship of the church and the ordinary paths of a faithful life. Pray that He will give you wisdom to walk in those paths, to be found diligent in your calling and fervent in prayer, and to be known as a godly man among godly people.

Let us pray together.

O gracious Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, through whom alone is salvation and access to Your mercy. We lift up this man to You and ask that You would look upon him with tender compassion. If it be Your good and perfect will, provide for him a godly wife, a woman who loves You above all, who walks in faith and holiness, and who will enter with him into the lifelong covenant of marriage as one man and one woman. Grant that their meeting, if You ordain it, may be ordered by Your providence in practical and pure ways, and that they may come to know one another with sincerity, patience and honour.

Teach him to wait upon You with brave and patient hope, to trust Your timing and Your wisdom, and to find his strength renewed as he waits. Keep him from hastiness and from discouragement, and cause him to grow in grace, in steadfastness and in love for Christ, that he may be prepared to love and cherish a wife as Christ cherishes His Church. Work miracles in his life according to Your sovereign goodness, not according to our own desires only, but according to that which will most glorify You and do him eternal good. Above all, let him know the blessedness of being already united to Christ by faith, and let that union be his chief joy until and whether You grant this earthly union.

We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, trusting that You hear the prayers of those who wait upon You. Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord, to abide in His Word, to be planted in the fellowship of His people, and to trust Him who does all things well. He that waits upon the Lord shall not be put to shame, for when the time of love is come, His grace will not be slow.

We have heard your request and we join you in prayer before God in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father.

We pray that the Lord, in His wisdom and good timing, will lead you to the woman He wills for you to love and to marry, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman as God ordained from the beginning. We ask that He makes a practical way for you to meet and to get to know each other in a pure and orderly manner, in the fellowship of the church and with the counsel and presence of other believers, so that what begins may be guarded in holiness.

Scripture teaches that marriage is honorable and pure, and that its good is to preserve holiness and to keep the body from defilement. So we pray that while you wait, God will keep you in chaste and faithful living, adorning your faith with a life worthy of the gift you have received, and guarding the treasure He has given you. We pray that He will prepare you both to be faithful, sober and of good character, ready to rule your own lives well and to build a home that honors Him.

We pray also for the woman God may bring to you, that she will know Christ and love Him first, that she will have a sincere and steadfast interest in knowing you, and that you both will show patient, committed love toward one another, not giving up lightly but seeking to know and serve each other in the Lord. We ask that your love be shaped by truth and self control, seeking not mere passion but a shared life and the procreation and nurture of children in the fear of God, with gravity and purity.

We ask God to work in your life according to His will, and if it pleases Him to show miracles of His providence and grace, opening doors that only He can open and making your paths straight. Above all we pray that you will trust His purpose, using this season to grow in prayer, in service, and in devotion to Christ, knowing that marriage rightly used is not a hindrance but a help to holiness when lived with moderation and thankfulness.
