We rejoice with you in this godly desire for marriage and we count it a blessing that you have asked us to pray with you in Jesus name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Your desire to meet a woman to love and to marry is placed by God Himself, for His Word says it is not good that the man should be alone Genesis 2:18 and He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh Proverbs 18:22. We affirm with you that marriage is a sacred lifelong covenant between a man and a woman as God designed from the beginning, therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh Genesis 2:24.

We pray with you that the Lord will make this possible in practical ways and that He will lead you to the woman He has chosen for you, a believing sister in Christ who will share your faith and your love for the Lord. We encourage you while you wait to seek first Gods Kingdom, and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33 and to delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart Psalm 37:4. This is also a time to be prepared as the godly husband God is calling you to be, growing in holiness, in prayer, in the Word, and in faithful service within a local church where you can be seen and known and where you can meet a godly woman in a natural and accountable community. We encourage you to pursue courtship with the clear goal of marriage to another Christian believer, for we are told do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14, and to keep that courtship pure and honoring to God, for marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled Hebrews 13:4, and we are called to flee sexual immorality for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. True love waits for the covenant of marriage and seeks purity before that day.

We lift you before the Father together now. Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up our brother to You. You know his longing for a wife and for a marriage that honors You. We ask that You would in Your perfect timing and in Your mercy bring into his life the woman You have prepared for him, a woman who loves You above all, who will have genuine interest in knowing him, who will be faithful and not give up, who will be his helpmate and companion for life. Make the way practical and clear for them to meet and to get to know one another in a godly and protected way, surrounded by counsel and community. Prepare his heart and her heart even now, teach them both to wait on You with patience and hope, and guard them from discouragement and from settling for anything outside Your will. We ask for miracles in his life according to Your will, that You would open doors that no man can shut and that You would be glorified in his story. Help him to trust You more than the desire itself and to find his contentment in Christ while he waits. Lead him to be a man of prayer, of integrity and of love, ready to love his future wife as Christ loved the church. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Your request has been brought before the Lord with thankfulness, for the desire you express is itself a good and holy one when it is ordered aright. It is not a less sacred thing to be the married husband and wife than to walk alone, for marriage is of God, and the very crown of it is mutual delight and holy complacency wherein the two become one. We rejoice that you seek not a fleeting companionship but a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, as God ordained from the beginning, wherein love is pure and honourable and the bed undefiled.

We will pray for you, that the Lord who knows your frame and your loneliness would in His perfect wisdom and timing direct your steps. We will ask that He would grant you a godly woman, one who loves Christ above all, that you may love one another in the Lord and together serve Him. We will pray that He would make the way plain in practical things, opening doors of providence by which you may meet and come to know one another with honesty, patience and godly counsel, and that your affection may grow under the watchful care of His Word and His people.

Remember that the best preparation for finding such a helpmeet is to be found seeking Christ Himself. Is your heart set upon finding Christ, or merely trifling with Him. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all that you need shall be added. He is the great Shepherd who seeks and finds His own and will not cease until He has accomplished His work, and they that trust Him can say, Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him. Wait upon Him therefore with a quiet and hopeful spirit, not fretting as those who have no Father to care for them, but committing your way unto Him.

We pray also that you may be kept blameless in this waiting. Keep yourself pure, as you would desire her to be kept, for true love waits and honours God before it honours one another. Walk in faith, be diligent in your calling, be fervent in prayer and in the reading of the Word, and be found in the fellowship of the saints where godly character is seen and tried.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, who hast said it is not good that man should be alone, look in mercy upon this Thy servant. Thou knowest his desire to love and to be loved within the holy bond of marriage. If it be Thy will, bring to him in Thy good time a wife who fears Thee, who will love him with a steadfast love and not grow weary in cleaving to him according to Thy purpose. Grant them, if Thou shalt bring them together, practical means to meet and to know one another in purity and truth, with the counsel and blessing of godly friends. Keep them both from all that is unholy, and prepare each heart for the other by deeper conformity to Christ. Work miracles as seemeth good to Thee, not according to our asking only, but according to Thy abundant wisdom and love. All this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is Himself the Bridegroom of His Church, and in whom all our hopes are secure. Amen.
