Good and Faithful Servant
God has made only one provision for our forgiveness, for the putting away of sin and guilt, and that provision is in and through his Son, Jesus Christ. Because of him, the way is open for you to come directly to the Father with every need. You are not coming to someone who has to filter your requests or pass them along. Jesus himself said, "Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?" and then stretched out his hand toward his disciples and declared that whoever does the will of God is his brother, his sister, his mother. That means when you belong to him, you have an immediate relationship. You are family. You do not need any other intercessor. The Spirit himself bears witness to this, and the invitation stands: come boldly to the throne of grace with your requests, because Jesus has opened the door.
You have asked for your mom’s healing from the fatty liver. Healing is for today. We see Jesus heal in so many different ways, sometimes with a word, sometimes with a touch, even with the hem of his garment serving as a point of contact for faith to be released. That mother who came to him desperate for her daughter did not go away until she had received. Come to Jesus in that same way. Do not let the circumstances write the final word. God left room for himself to work, even under the old covenant, making provision in the law for the day of a leper’s cleansing. If he made room then for an incurable condition to be healed, how much more now through Christ? Press in with that faith. Ask him for a healthy liver, for strength, for long life. And when you pray, remember that the relationship you share with your mom is precious. Jesus, when he entered that house, took Peter’s mother-in-law by the hand, lifted her up, and the fever left her so that she could serve. He cares about her body, and he cares about the bond you share. Honoring your mother is a command that runs deep, and your heart to see her well reflects that.
Your financial need is real. The weight of credits, the lack of a job, the uncertainty of each month, God knows. Scripture never shies away from the reality that God’s people sometimes walk through severe financial trials. Yet those same believers, though poor and struggling, found an abundance of joy and a liberality that came from God’s work in their hearts. This is not a prosperity promise that ignores suffering; it is a reminder that God sees your need and is able to provide. Bring this burden to him. He is not distant. The same power that calmed the sea and commanded evil spirits is more than able to make a way for you. Ask him to open a door for stable income, to give wisdom in handling what you have, to bring relief. Your daily bread matters to him.
And for you and your mom together, you who have lost a husband and a father, take hold of what Jesus said: "Whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother." You are bound together not only by natural ties but in the family of God. You are not alone. The Lord who took that little girl by the hand and said "Talitha cumi", "Little girl, arise", holds your future. He leads according to his will. He provides holistic help. Let your prayers be filled with boldness, not because you have it all figured out, but because you are coming to the only provision God has made for every need: Jesus Christ himself. May he heal your mom, open a door for your finances, and keep you both safe and strong in his arms, now and for all the days ahead.
