We hear your plea for help on behalf of this business owner, and we lift this matter before the Lord with urgency and faith. Financial struggles, especially when caused by unpaid debts, can bring immense stress, fear, and even doubt. But we know that our God is a God of justice, provision, and restoration. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and He is able to open doors no man can shut and provide in ways we cannot imagine.
First, we rebuke the spirit of delay and injustice that is preventing this business from receiving what is rightfully owed. The Word of God is clear: "The wicked borrows and doesn’t pay back, but the righteous deals graciously and gives" (Psalm 37:21). We stand on this truth and declare that every debt will be settled. We pray that the Lord would soften the hearts of those who owe money, that they would recognize their obligation and act with integrity. May the Holy Spirit convict them of their wrongdoing and move them to make things right without further delay.
We also pray for wisdom and strategy for this business owner. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Lord, grant her the discernment to know how to pursue these unpaid debts, whether through gentle reminders, legal avenues, or even the wisdom to release what cannot be recovered so that bitterness does not take root. Give her creativity and favor in finding new clients who will honor their commitments and pay promptly.
Father, we ask that You would protect her heart from anxiety and fear. The enemy would love to use this situation to steal her peace, but we declare that she will not be shaken. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7). We pray that she would experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding, even in the midst of this trial.
We also lift up her finances to You. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. Meet every need in this business and in her personal life. Open up new streams of income, unexpected opportunities, and divine connections that will bring financial breakthrough. "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). We declare that lack will not have the final say in this situation.
Finally, we pray for her faith to remain strong. It is easy to become discouraged when we don’t see immediate results, but we are reminded that "faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). Strengthen her trust in You, Lord, and help her to wait patiently for Your timing. Remind her that You are working all things together for her good (Romans 8:28), even when the circumstances seem bleak.
We cover this business in the blood of Jesus and declare that no weapon formed against it shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We speak life, growth, and prosperity over it, and we thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. May this trial be turned around for her good and for Your glory. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. The trial of unpaid debts is a sore one, yet it comes not without the Lord's permission, and if He permit it, then He has some gracious purpose in it for this dear sister. Wonder not if recovery should be slow; and, as the business is brought low, let her acknowledge in every small mercy that the Lord has a new claim on her affection. Let her not be content with two or three minutes’ prayer in the morning, but if she can slip away from the cares of the shop and get a word with God in the middle of the day, so much the better. He who made the loaves of heavenly bread fresh for each meal knows her need before she asks.
Yet mark this well: If you make your own business God’s business, you will do your business well. Let her entreat the Lord that her trade may be sanctified, not merely a scramble for bread, but an altar upon which she serves her Father. Every honest debt paid is a mercy; every refusal to pay is an opportunity to cast herself upon the promises, to see whether God will not prove Himself her portion when streams are dry. I deny that any have real faith in Christ if they are rotten in heart, unjust in business, and untrue in life, but I bless God that a child of His may be sorely tried by the dishonesty of others and yet walk uprightly. If she has earthly provision as she needs it, should it not suffice her? Are not the loaves of heavenly bread all the better for being fresh? Let her trust the Lord for daily bread, and let not her heart ache as if she had only half as much business as before, for the Lord has said, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
But there is a more excellent business than any earthly ledger can contain. The business of the Church is salvation! And every Christian’s one business in life is to lead souls to believe in Jesus Christ. If this trial presses her nearer to the heart of her Saviour, and if in her honest dealings she adorns the doctrine of God her Saviour, then even hard customers may see her good works and glorify her Father in heaven. Settle it, then, that this is the top and the bottom of the business: to teach transgressors God’s ways, that sinners may be converted unto Him. Let her bring her cares to the Lord in prayer, but let her also be about her Father’s business, and she shall find, as thousands have before her, that she can do business in the streets of the New Jerusalem even while walking the pavements of this weary world.

If we eat or drink or travel with prayer and thanksgiving, much more does business prosper when we entrust it to Him. Where the name of Jesus is invoked, there is blessing, there is protection. Let her not resort to harshness or cunning to recover what is owed, but commit her cause to God. The unjust debtor may seem to thwart her, yet God can make even the designs of men serve His truth, as the sealed tomb only made the resurrection more certain. In patience, she will possess her soul.
We will assist her with our intercessions, and if she has need of practical help, let her make it known to the church. But let her remember that the purse of heaven is never empty. May the Lord who notices every sparrow supply her need and quiet her heart.
