Divine Stewardship, Protection, and Growth of the Business

It is a good and faithful step to place your business in the Lord's hands, and your prayer reflects a right understanding of stewardship. When you commit whatever you do to the Lord, He establishes your plans, as Proverbs 16:3 teaches. That commitment is not only a prayer for success, but a surrender of the work itself to Him to direct and to bless according to His wisdom.

Scripture presents wisdom as the principal thing to seek, more valuable than riches or wealth. Rubies and all desirable things cannot be compared to it. The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord, a reverent trust and obedience toward Him. Knowledge can give you facts, but wisdom gives you the ability to use what you know rightly and to live in a way that pleases God. Wisdom is pictured as calling out openly to all people, inviting them to come and receive what she has prepared. In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, so to seek wisdom is ultimately to seek Him and to walk in His ways.

This is why the example of Solomon is so instructive. When he was given the opportunity to ask for anything, he asked for wisdom to lead well, rather than asking for money or honor. Because he put wisdom first, God was pleased and added to him what he had not sought. In the same way, as you ask for wisdom, integrity and excellence in managing what God has entrusted to you, you are asking for what God most desires to give.

There is also a clear difference between the wisdom that comes from above and the wisdom of this world. Earthly wisdom is marked by envy, strife and self seeking, and it leads to confusion. The wisdom from above leads to purity, peace and good fruit in a person's life. You can recognize which wisdom a person is following by the fruit it produces. For your business this matters greatly. Money is a defense and useful, but wisdom is better because wisdom gives life to those who have it. It protects not only your resources but your heart and your witness.

God also delights in honesty in business. A false balance is an abomination to Him, but a just weight is His delight. To walk uprightly, to be honest and straightforward in your dealings even when others say it cannot be done, is to honor Him. That kind of integrity builds a lasting reputation and guards against dishonesty and loss more than any clever strategy.

Jesus Himself showed what it means to be about the Father's business, making the Father's will the central burden of His life, and He increased in wisdom and in favor with God and with people. May that same growth be true for you.

I join you in prayer that the Lord will give you clear wisdom for every decision, and that He will provide the right person to operate and protect the business while you give attention to the healthcare project. May He send trustworthy employees, loyal customers, reliable suppliers and strategic partners who share your commitment to integrity. May He help you manage money wisely, to control expenses, to increase what is needed for provision, and to reinvest with discernment. May He guard the work from loss, from dishonesty and from every scheme that would undermine it, and cause what you do to have a growing and helpful impact for good.

Continue to seek wisdom first, to love it and keep it, and trust that as you walk in the fear of the Lord with honesty and diligence, He will establish the work of your hands.

As we continue to hold fast to Proverbs 16:3, we stand with you in faith, declaring that as you commit your work to the Lord, He will establish your plans. We believe He is already at work, even now, to establish and expand the impact of this business for His glory.
