Your request reveals how heavy and painful this season has been for you and your family, and how much fear and exhaustion you are carrying. You are watching someone you love suffer with a hernia pressing on the nerves of the spine, with numbness and tingling and cold sensations, unable to walk or sleep or work and confined to bed, while you also care for your mother who has Alzheimer’s, deal with your own anemia and worrying changes in moles, and carry urgent financial pressure for medical treatment, debt and the need for customers for your small business. On top of that there is constant strife at home, no peace and no joy, and a deep fear about what neighbors involved in occult practices might do, including fear about surgery and the cost and care that would follow.
God does not want you to live under a crushing weight that He never placed on you. In Scripture some people went around speaking of the burden of the Lord as if God were laying a heavy, unbearable load on them, and God corrected them. He told them not to use that phrase, because every person already has a burden of his own making, and that burden is usually the exhausting effort of trying to please self and manage everything in our own strength. Jesus spoke very differently. He said to come to Him, all who labor and are heavy laden, and to learn from Him, for His yoke is easy and His burden is light. His burden was light because His whole life was to do the will of the Father and to please Him. When we try to carry everything ourselves, including fear about the future, guilt, and the need to control outcomes, the load becomes too heavy. When we bring it to Jesus, He invites us to exchange our heavy load for His light one.
A large part of what you are describing is fear, and fear is a tool the enemy often uses against God’s people because fear and faith cannot occupy the same space. Fear grows when our eyes are fixed on the threat, on the diagnosis, on what could go wrong in surgery, on what others might intend, and on lack of money or help. Faith grows when we remember the Lord, that He is present, that He sees every detail of your life, and that He is able to give strength. One of the leaders in the Old Testament faced threats and attempts to frighten him away from the work God had given him, and his first response was prayer. He recognized the attack, he prayed for guidance, and he reminded the people not to be afraid but to remember the Lord who was with them. That is the pattern for you as well. Recognize that the conflict is spiritual and not only physical or relational, and respond first with prayer rather than reacting in the flesh. Do not fear those who can harm the body but cannot touch the soul. Fear God in the reverent sense, trust Him, and ask Him to guard your heart. He is interested in every minute detail of your life, from sleep and pain to finances and family peace.
Scripture also says to cast your burden on the Lord and He will sustain you, and to cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you. That does not mean the problems disappear instantly, but it means you are not meant to hold them alone. You can bring each specific need to Him daily.
I am praying with you for these things. I am asking God to lead you to the right doctor, to give that doctor wisdom for a correct diagnosis and a safe and effective treatment plan, and to bring healing to the spine and relief from the nerve compression so that normal life and work can return. If surgery is considered, I am asking God to give clear counsel, to guide the medical team, and to provide for the cost and for care during recovery. I am praying for your mother with Alzheimer’s, for comfort and strength for her and for you as you care for her, and for you, for healing from anemia and for wisdom regarding the moles that have changed color, that you would be able to get proper medical evaluation quickly. I am praying for provision for your family, that God would bring customers and income for your business according to His mercy and meet your urgent financial needs, and that He would bring peace into your home, replacing daily quarreling with unity, comfort in sorrow, and the ability to rest and even to smile again.
Do not let fear of what neighbors practice determine your future. God is sovereign and greater than any occult power, and no one can separate you from His care when you belong to Jesus Christ. Seek the Lord first, stay faithful in prayer, seek competent medical care without delay, and let other believers you trust know your practical needs so they can help you carry them. The Lord who invites the weary to come to Him is able to sustain you one day at a time.
May the Lord show you His presence, give you wisdom for each decision, bring healing according to His will, provide for your needs, and guard your family in His peace.
