The psalmist wrote, "The righteous cry, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:17-18 WEB). God sees your tears, and He is moving even now on your behalf.
First, we must address the foundation of your plea. You call out to "Dear God," but we must ask: Do you know Him as your personal Savior through Jesus Christ? There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, repent, and invite Him into your heart as your Lord and Savior. This is the first and most critical step in experiencing true deliverance and peace.

Father, we rebuke every spirit of fear, oppression, and despair in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we ask that You reveal Your will and Your path for them. Give them clarity in this moment of confusion and strength to endure until Your deliverance comes. Remind them that You are their refuge and fortress, their God in whom they can trust (Psalm 91:2). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
If there are any areas in their life where sin has created openings for the enemy to gain a foothold, we pray for conviction and repentance. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). Lord, cleanse them and set them free from every chain.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment. Show them the steps they need to take, whether it is seeking godly counsel, making difficult decisions, or simply waiting on You. Your Word says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). We ask that You direct their steps and order their days according to Your perfect will.
Father, we stand in the gap for them, declaring that this trial will not break them but will instead draw them closer to You. Use this time to refine their faith, as gold is refined in the fire (1 Peter 1:7). Let them emerge from this season stronger, wiser, and more dependent on You.

To cry out in such agony is no small thing, for the raven’s young cry without understanding, but your cry, though it feels like mere groaning, is the work of divine grace upon your heart. The Lord does not despise the broken utterances of a soul driven to its knees; He hears the very panting of your spirit. You beg Him to get you out, and He is not unmoved by such pleading. He who feeds the ravens will not cast you out into desolation. Your tears are known to Him, and your repeated cries rise as incense before His throne. The enemy would whisper that you are forsaken, but it is a lie from the pit, your very desperation proves that the Spirit is stirring you to pray without ceasing.
The deliverance you seek comes by divine power alone, not by your own strength or worthiness. When Israel groaned under Egypt’s yoke, God brought them forth with a mighty hand, and not one feeble person tottered among their tribes. You feel crushed and helpless, but that is when His strength is perfected. Do not imagine that you must frame a polished petition; the most piercing cry is that which springs from deep distress. It is not the elegance of your words but the earnestness of your soul that reaches the Father’s heart. He is bringing you out, even now, though you cannot yet see the path through the sea. The ransom has been found, not silver or gold, but the precious blood of Christ, and for His sake the past is blotted out.
Only take heed not to let impatience rob you of the profit God intends in this trial. You say, “Get me out!” and that is natural, but tarry a little while and you will come forth enriched with the spoils of grace. The Israelites did not leave Egypt empty-handed; they received silver and gold from their captors. So too your present sorrow, when passed through by faith, will yield the peaceable fruit of righteousness. Yet if the burden presses so heavily that you can only gasp, “Keep me safe,” then know this: He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. Commit your way to Him, trust also in Him, and He will bring it to pass. The shadow of His wings is your refuge until these calamities be overpast.
Cry on, then, and do not hold back. The Lord finds music in His children’s cries, and your moan pierces His heart more tenderly than any mother’s. Let this be your war cry against despair: “The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock!” He will yet make you a song of deliverance, and you shall declare that the prey was taken from the mighty and the lawful captive was set free. The anguish of your cry reaches the throne of God, but do not suppose that loud and repeated words compel Him more swiftly. The Spirit descended as a dove, gentle and pure, teaching us that our prayers should arise from a meek and trusting heart, not from the clamor of panic. When the storms of life assail you, remember that the same dove brought the olive branch after the flood, signaling deliverance from destruction. God’s rescues often come not by our frantic timelines but by His perfect wisdom, and they demand that we unfurl the sails of faith, not the oars of human reasoning. If you are in some snare, whether by your own doing or by the plots of others, do not despair. The Lord is mighty in battle; He has already disarmed the strong man, Satan, and leads captivity captive. Even the apostle Paul was pressed out of measure, despairing of life itself, yet God permitted those trials so that His power might be perfected in weakness, and for the salvation of many. Your present danger, whatever it may be, is allowed to draw you not into bitterness but into a firmer reliance on Him who alone can deliver.
Yet I must also ask: from what do you seek escape? If it is a situation you entered through sin, then mere deliverance without repentance would leave your soul in greater peril. Pilate washed his hands, claiming innocence while surrendering Christ to the mob, and his cowardice became his eternal shame. Do not seek to be plucked from the consequences while clinging to the transgression. Cry out rather, “Create in me a clean heart, O God,” and flee from the very appearance of evil. If it is a trial not of your making, then endure as Epaphroditus did, who for the work of Christ drew near to death, counting not his life dear. Such faithful risk is accounted martyrdom in the eyes of heaven. The Lord will send His angel to shut the lions’ mouths, as He did for Daniel, when it pleases Him and nourishes your soul.

God hears the prayer of someone who has come to the end of their own strength. You do not have to convince Him that you are desperate, and you do not have to find the right words. He is not a God you must climb up to or persuade by repeating yourself. In Jesus Christ, God has already come down to you. That is the ground you stand on when you cry out.
Whatever this is, it has brought you to your knees, and that is a place where God meets people. When every earthly crutch has broken and every scheme has failed, there is only one thing left, and that is God. That is not a hopeless place. It is the place where He shows Himself strong.
Ask Him to keep you safe, because He is a refuge for those who flee to Him. The cry, Deliver me, O Lord, runs all through the Psalms. He is able to guard you and hide you. But do not try to command Him or bargain with Him. You are not coming to God because you can offer Him something. You are coming for mercy, and mercy is what He gives through Jesus Christ.
Pour out the whole thing before Him. Tell Him what you fear. Tell Him how empty and desperate you feel. Then let Him speak back to you with the strength and comfort of His Spirit. He does not need to be awakened. He is not asleep. His silence is not indifference.
You may not know how He will answer, but you can trust His goodness. He knows the end from the beginning.
