It is a comfort to know that nothing is hidden from God. He sees the labor, the loyalty, and the heart you have poured into your work, even when others overlook it. The frustration of watching truth fall in the street and equity seem unable to enter is a heavy burden. When judgment is turned away backward and justice stands far off, it is easy to let a root of bitterness begin to spring up. Guard your heart carefully against that. The warning in Hebrews is clear: a root of bitterness can defile many, and once it takes hold it will trouble you far more than the original wrong.

Remember that God often takes up the cause of the afflicted and the needy. He is a God of justice, yet He also delights in mercy. When I come to Him, I do not ask for justice because I fear I might receive it. I cry out for mercy instead. So continue to pour out your hurt before the Lord, but do not let your request become a demand. He knows what you truly need long before you ask.

The peace you seek will not come from vindication in the workplace, as satisfying as that might feel. It comes from entering His rest. Just as God ceased from His works when creation was finished, and just as Christ finished the work of redemption so that we can cease from our own striving, you can rest in His finished work. Your worth and your reward are secure in heaven. No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. Keep doing your best with dignity, not as unto a department head, but as unto the Lord. He sees the truth, and He will accomplish His purposes, even if He must do it apart from our efforts. In His time, what is hidden will be brought to light. Until then, follow after peace with all people, and trust that the God who has always existed and who holds all things together will not forget your faithfulness.
