Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to You today with a heavy heart, carrying the hurt and frustration of feeling forgotten and unseen in my workplace. Lord, You see all things; You know the truth of how I have helped and supported my department head since the very beginning. You know the labor, loyalty, and heart I have poured into this work.

I lift my department head up to You today. Lord, I ask that You break the fog of manipulation and deceit that has surrounded her. Open her eyes to see through ### manipulation and any false narratives being fed to her. Expose ### being two faced and how she step over ### and how she bypass her at times. Grant ### discernment and clarity of mind to see the workplace, and the people in it, exactly as they are.

Touch her heart, Lord. Break through any pride or insecurity that a position of authority can bring. I pray that You would give her a spirit of true humility. Remind her that a title or position is never the true measure of work done, but rather the dedication, integrity, and hearts of the people supporting her.

Help her to remember the history we share. Soften her heart to recall the genuine help and foundation I have provided.

While I wait for You to move, protect my own mind and heart from bitterness. Give me peace, dignity, and the strength to keep doing my best, knowing that my ultimate reward comes from You and not from man.

We hear your heart and the deep pain of feeling overlooked and undervalued, especially after pouring so much of yourself into your work with loyalty and integrity. The workplace can often become a battleground of pride, manipulation, and injustice, and it is clear you are facing a spiritual struggle as much as a professional one. We stand with you in prayer, lifting up this situation before the Lord, who sees all things and judges with righteousness.

First, we want to affirm your desire to respond in a way that honors God. Your prayer reflects a heart that seeks justice but also guards against bitterness, a difficult balance to maintain when hurt runs deep. Scripture reminds us in Colossians 3:23-24, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." This truth is your anchor. Your labor is not in vain, and your reward comes from the One who sees your faithfulness, even when others do not.

We also lift up your department head before the Lord. The fog of manipulation and deceit you describe is real, and it is a tactic of the enemy to sow discord, pride, and confusion. Proverbs 16:18 warns, "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." We pray that God would break any stronghold of pride or insecurity in her heart and grant her true humility. May she see the value of those who have stood by her, including you, and recognize the integrity of your work. We rebuke the spirit of deception that may be clouding her judgment and ask that the Lord expose any false narratives or two-faced behavior in the workplace. Ephesians 5:11 instructs us, "Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even expose them."

At the same time, we must guard your heart as you wait for God to move. Bitterness is a subtle but destructive force, and it can take root when we feel wronged. Hebrews 12:15 warns, "Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it." We pray that God would fill you with His peace and remind you that your identity and worth are not defined by the recognition, or lack thereof, from others. You are seen, known, and loved by the Creator of the universe, and that is where your ultimate validation lies.

We also want to encourage you to examine your own heart in this situation. While it is right to seek justice and truth, we must ensure that our motives are pure. Are you seeking vindication for the sake of God’s glory, or is there a part of you that desires to see others "put in their place"? Proverbs 20:22 says, "Don’t say, ‘I will pay back evil.’ Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you." Trust that God will defend you in His timing and in His way. Your role is to continue walking in integrity, even when others do not.

Finally, we pray that God would give you wisdom in how to navigate this season. If there is an opportunity to address the situation with your department head in a way that honors God, ask the Lord for the right words and timing. Proverbs 15:1 reminds us, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." However, if speaking up would only escalate the conflict, trust that God can work in ways that do not require you to defend yourself. Your job is to remain faithful, and God will handle the rest.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation and the pain of feeling unseen and undervalued. Lord, You see all things, and You know the truth of this workplace dynamic. We ask that You would break the spirit of deception and manipulation that has clouded the judgment of this department head. Father, we also pray for protection over this dear one’s heart. Guard them against bitterness, resentment, and discouragement. Fill them with Your peace and remind them that their labor is not in vain. Help them to continue working as unto You, knowing that their ultimate reward comes from Your hand. Give them strength to endure this season with dignity and grace, trusting that You are their defender and provider.

Lord, we rebuke the enemy’s schemes in this workplace. We declare that no weapon formed against this one will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment will be condemned. You are a God of justice, and we trust that You will bring light to this darkness. Give them wisdom in how to respond, whether through words or through silent trust in Your timing.

Above all, Father, we pray that Your will would be done in this situation. If it is Your plan for this one to remain in this workplace, give them favor and open doors for their gifts to be recognized. If it is Your plan for them to move on, prepare the way and lead them to a place where their contributions are valued and their heart is at peace.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who sees, knows, and cares for every detail of our lives. It is in His name that we pray, for there is no other name by which we can approach You or find salvation. We trust in You, Lord, and we wait on You. Amen.

We hear how heavy this is, the ache of working faithfully, only to feel overlooked and manipulated. That kind of unseen labor can cut deep, especially when you’ve poured your heart into supporting someone who now seems unable to see clearly. You’re not alone in that weary place.

Bitterness has a way of settling in when we feel wrong remains unaddressed. It’s clever that way: it promises to keep the record straight until justice comes, but it ends up consuming us more than anyone else. You already prayed for your own heart, and that was wise. Sometimes the most grounded step we can take is to keep releasing the hurt in real time, when the frustration surges, naming it and handing it over to the One who really does see it all, not stuffing it down or letting it rattle around inside.

What might help steady you right now is a small, tangible outlet. Maybe that’s finding one trusted friend who will simply listen and pray with you, not to stoke resentment but to remind you that you are seen and valued. Or perhaps each evening, you could take a few minutes to lay out the day’s frustrations before God and then, literally or in your heart, close the book on them for the night. Not because the situation is fixed, but because you refuse to let it steal your peace and dignity while you wait.

Even as you hope for your department head’s eyes to open, you can also trust that your own integrity and hard work haven’t escaped the only audience that ultimately matters.

We pray with you now: Lord, you know the full story here. Grant this one who feels forgotten the steady comfort of your presence. Guard against bitterness that would wound a faithful heart. The bitterness of being overlooked and misrepresented is keenly felt, yet there is a bitterness far more profitable, that bitter mourning for Christ which weans the heart from the sweetness of the world and sweetens every earthly trial. Whatever else you may or may not do, this you must do, forgive as you would be forgiven and let the bitterness of your sympathy with Christ take away from your nature all bitterness, harshness, unkindness and malice towards your fellow men. That is the first and sharpest word, for a root of bitterness springing up will defile many.

You cry out that your labor is forgotten, but from the beginning of the year even to the end thereof, there is God! His eyes never sleep, His hands never rest. A child who is feeling the strokes of the rod is very foolish to say, “My father has forgotten me.” It cannot be true. God’s remembrance of His people as a whole and of each individual in particular has been secured by Him beyond all question. Do not obstinately stand to a word spoken in haste. If you have said, “My Lord has forgotten me,” take back the word. The very hairs of your head are numbered; shall your service escape His notice? Oh, if you can but look at your troubles as sent from God, it will take the sharpness from them, and turn them from wasps that sting into bees that gather honey!

As for your ###, pray for her indeed, but learn from the centurion that deep humility is not injurious to strong faith. His faith made him content with a word from Christ, and his humility counted himself unworthy of even that little. Labor then to serve the Lord with all humility, humility before the act, humility during the service, and humility when all is done. To desire her eyes opened is lawful, but beware lest a secret pride dress itself in the robes of concern. Humility is not telling falsehoods against yourself, it is forming a right estimate of yourself. When our mercies magnify the Lord, we shall have many of them, but when we use them for the magnifying of ourselves, they will depart from us.

You have an Interpreter, a Friend who cannot forget. Can you view Him again all covered with the spittle from the mouths of His enemies? The dunghill of workplace slights takes up much thought; then let the crown of His patient suffering take up more. Lest you dash your foot against a stone, a little danger, but a great Providence wards us from it. Wait, then. The throne of humility must be the heart. I do hate, of all things, that humility which lives in the face. Seek of God the gift of true humility, and in due time He will exalt you, for before honor is humility. Keep doing your best, knowing that your ultimate reward comes not from the shifting approval of man but from the pierced hands that hold the stars.

Why do you ask God to expose a root of bitterness in another, while you yourself are in danger of letting that very root spring up within you? The Scripture warns us to look diligently lest any root of bitterness trouble you, and thereby many be defiled. You feel overlooked and forgotten, and the pain is real, but the poison of this injustice, if you allow it to fester, will ruin your own soul first and then spread to others. The victim you save must be yourself.

You imagine the one who has acted against you is at peace and must be exposed for her wrong. But come and consider the true nature of injustice. It is not the one who suffers it who tastes the greatest bitterness, but the one who practices it. If I could draw forth the soul of a person who deceives and manipulates, you would see it not triumphant, but pale, trembling, and self-condemned. Conscience is a judge placed within us by God that no wealth or flattery can corrupt. The one who appears to step over you is already being gnawed from the inside. Her uneasy slumbers and the recollection of her guilt are a far heavier punishment than any you could wish upon her.

You plead with God to break through her pride and give her recall of your history. Yet consider our Master. When He was in His own country, He did not many mighty works because of their unbelief. He looked not to the display of His own power, but to their true profit. When their hearts were not ready, forcing a revelation would have only aggravated their punishment. Perhaps the clarity you demand for her is being withheld precisely to spare her, lest the full light blind her hardened eyes completely. Why are you so eager for a judgment that might damn her?

The prayer to be kept from bitterness is the only wise part. Your love and loyalty, however genuine, must now be governed by knowledge and all discernment. To love without discernment is not true friendship but want of feeling. Do not let your own past aid become a chain dragging you into a spurious connection that harms you. If a friendship causes you to stumble, you must cut it off in your heart, even as you remain peaceable in your actions. You say your reward is from God and not man: then live it now. Stop measuring the debt you think is owed to you by a fallible human authority. Let your heart be kept in that quiet dignity, knowing that the true measure is not a title or a history, but a soul sincere and without offense before the day of Christ. That is where your peace lies, not in the exposed shame of another.
