We hear the pain and loneliness in your heart and we are lifting you up together before the Lord in Jesus' name. It hurts deeply to be walking through a recent diagnosis and illness alone, to feel a shift in those you love, and to be met with silence when you are simply asking if they are safe. We want you to know that even when people seem distant or look at a message and do not answer, God sees you, He hears you, and He has not ghosted you.
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We know you feel alone in this illness right now, but you are not forgotten. Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.
We understand you discerned a shift this week, that he went to stay with his mother so you could get well and so he could have a break, and now both have grown quiet. That silence can feel like rejection and it is natural to wonder, am I too needy. My dear sister, it is not wrong to need comfort and reassurance when you are sick and afraid, especially with a hurricane concern. God created us for fellowship and to bear one another's burdens. At the same time we want to gently encourage you to place your deepest dependence not on whether a man or his mother answers quickly, but on Christ who will never leave you nor forsake you Deuteronomy 31:6. People, even well meaning people, can grow weary, overwhelmed, or unsure how to help someone who is suffering, and sometimes they pull back not out of lack of love but out of not knowing what to say. That does not make their silence right, for love should communicate with kindness and honesty, but it does mean their distance is not necessarily a measure of your worth.
We also want to speak lovingly about your relationship. You speak of this man as one you were with and are now temporarily separated from while you heal. We do not know all the details of your courtship, but we want to remind you of God's design. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and that courtship should be pursued with the goal of godly marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, keeping yourselves pure before marriage. If there has been intimacy outside of marriage, Scripture calls that fornication and we would urge you both to repent and to seek purity going forward, for the body is a temple of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 6:18-20. If you are courting with marriage in mind, let this time of separation be a time to seek the Lord's will clearly for whether this is the godly spouse He has for you, and to pursue that relationship in a way that honors Him. If you are already married and separated only for health reasons, then we pray for restoration and for faithful communication that reflects the vows before God.
We are thankful you called upon Jesus Christ Messiah in your request, for it is only through His name we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Your faith that God is and will provide is precious, hold fast to it.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ our Messiah. We lift up our sister to You in her illness, her recent diagnosis, and her loneliness. Lord, touch her body with Your healing hand, comfort her heart, and let her feel Your presence when she feels alone. You heal the broken in heart, and bind up their wounds Psalm 147:3. Give her strength for each day, for Your grace is sufficient, and Your power is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9. We pray for this man and his mother, that You keep them safe from the hurricane and from all harm, and that You work in their hearts. If there is overwhelm, fear, or misunderstanding causing this silence, bring clarity, compassion, and godly communication. Help our sister not to be consumed by anxiety but to find rest in You, for You invite all who are weary and burdened to come to You Matthew 11:28. Teach her to cast her cares on You and to trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You Romans 8:28. If this courtship is of You, Lord, lead it toward a holy marriage that honors You, and if not, give clear direction and peace to follow Your will. Help her to have a community of believers around her while she heals, so she is not bearing this alone. Let her know she is not too needy for You, that You welcome her prayers day and night. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to trust God and be strong in Him as she has told you. Give this man and his mother a little space to respond while you continue to pray, and if you reach out again let it be with grace and without accusation, perhaps one more gentle message expressing love and releasing them to answer in God's timing. Focus on your health, stay connected to a local church family if possible, and let other godly friends and family support you in this season. Keep bringing every hurt to Jesus, He will not ignore you. Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.
