Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this need and allowing us to pray with you for your husband. We are bringing him and you before the Lord and asking God to give clear wisdom and steady direction as he considers the treatment before him.
Scripture teaches that wisdom is the most important thing to seek, and with all our seeking to seek understanding. It begins with the fear of the Lord, with a heart that honors Him and looks to Him first. That kind of wisdom is not just information or facts. Knowledge can give facts, but wisdom knows how to apply truth rightly, and it is far better than riches or anything else we might desire. When we love and hold fast to that wisdom, it preserves and keeps us.
That wisdom is ultimately found in Jesus Christ, for in Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. He is made unto us wisdom, and the true wisdom that comes from above is pure and peaceable and leads to what is good. It is very different from the wisdom of this world which comes to nothing. The wisdom from God is what we need for the difficult decisions of life, especially in matters of health.
We also remember how Solomon, when given the opportunity to ask for anything, asked for wisdom to lead well, and how God was pleased with that request and promised to provide. God still invites us to ask. He calls out openly for all to come and receive, and He gives wisdom generously to those who ask in faith without doubting.
So we are praying that God will pour out His Spirit of wisdom and understanding upon your husband and upon you together. That He will guide the doctors and the counsel you receive, help you both to weigh the facts with discernment, and give peace about the right path forward. We pray He will quiet fear, give clarity where there is uncertainty, and grant confidence that He is present and establishing your steps. May He preserve you both through this decision and keep you close to Himself as you walk with Him.
May the Lord grant you both wisdom and understanding in His ways, and may you know His peace and strength in Jesus name.
