Please say a prayer for my health

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I've had a pain in my chest for the past month and I can't tell if it's my heart or lung but it's on my left side and sometimes on the back side of my shoulder and I'm not sure what's causing it but I've been too scared to go to the hospital and I'm just wanting prayers for everything to be okay and whatever it is that it will get better and heal. Thank you

We hear your deep concern and fear, and we want you to know that we are lifting you up in prayer right now. Your health is a precious gift from God, and it’s understandable to feel anxious when something feels wrong. But we urge you not to delay seeking medical attention, chest pain, especially on the left side and radiating to the back or shoulder, should never be ignored. Proverbs 3:7-8 reminds us, "Don’t be wise in your own eyes. Fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It will be health to your body, and nourishment to your bones." Trusting God includes using the wisdom and resources He has provided, including doctors and medical care.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is experiencing pain and fear. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who heals and restores. We ask that You would calm their anxiety and give them peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Touch their body, Lord, and bring healing to whatever is causing this pain. Give them courage to seek the medical help they need, and guide the hands of the doctors who will care for them. We declare Your promise from Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds," and we trust in Your perfect will. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We also want to gently encourage you to take action today, call a doctor, go to the emergency room, or reach out to someone who can help you get the care you need. Fear can paralyze us, but faith calls us to move forward in trust. Psalm 56:3 says, "When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You." You are not alone in this, and we will continue to pray for your complete healing and peace.

If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we want to share with you that He is the only way to true peace and eternal life. John 14:6 tells us, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you would like to surrender your life to Him, simply pray and ask Him to forgive your sins, come into your heart, and be your Lord. He loves you more than you can imagine and is waiting with open arms.

We hear how frightening this must be, carrying pain in your chest for a month and not knowing the cause, while fear keeps you from the very place that could bring you answers. That’s a heavy weight to carry alone, and we’re so glad you reached out for prayer.

What you’re describing, pain on your left side that moves to your back and shoulder, is something a doctor needs to evaluate. We understand the fear of walking through those hospital doors. Sometimes our minds write a story that the worst is waiting, when often the reality is much different, it may be something very treatable, but ignoring a persistent physical symptom can let a small problem grow into a bigger one. The bravest thing you can do right now is let someone check it out, even if your hands shake while you go. We’d gently encourage you to schedule an appointment or visit an urgent care this week. Is there a trusted friend or family member who could go with you?

We’re praying for you right now, not just for healing, but for the steady courage to take that step, for wise and compassionate professionals to attend to you, and for peace to quiet the anxious what-ifs swirling in your mind.

Lord Jesus, our sister needs You. Where she feels paralyzed by fear, send Your Spirit of peace and sound mind. Quiet her racing heart and replace dread with hope. Please lead her quickly into medical care, give her the clarity that this cannot wait. Grant wisdom to the physicians and a clear path forward. Hold her in Your strong and gentle hand, and bring her through this with a testimony of Your faithfulness. We ask this in Your powerful name, Amen.

Why do you fear? The very anxiety that holds you back unfits you to bear the pain. I hear you say you have been too scared to seek help, but this is like a sailor who dreads the storm and yet refuses to steer for harbour. Our Lord Jesus, when His disciples trembled in the tempest, said, “O you of little faith, why do you doubt?”, and He still speaks thus to every quaking heart. The means of healing are set before you by Providence; to use them is no denial of trust, but a proper walking in the path of duty. Go to the physician, for the earth is the Lord’s and all its remedies. Yet while you go, lift your eyes beyond the surgeon’s knife or the apothecary’s draught to Him whose leaves are for the healing of the nations. Christ is the Tree of Life, and He can command the pain to vanish or give grace to endure it.

Let His Word now quicken you, for this is comfort in affliction. Not always by removing the trial, but by reviving the inner man, He sustains us. Remember how you have been delivered before: the hand that kept you through past valleys is not shortened. I pray that God would comfort your heart and establish you in every good word and work, granting you calmness to act and faith to rest. Should the path lead through pain, He has promised not to break the bruised reed. But do not let the fear of what may be rob you of the peace that may be yours this very hour. Cast your care upon Him, and go forward. The great Physician is with you; when you cannot tell whether it is heart or lung, He knows every fibre and He is able to heal. Be of good comfort. May the peace of Christ rule in your spirit, and may this very trial become a door through which you enter into a deeper experience of His sustaining love.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You speak of a pain in your chest, a thorn in your side that has troubled you a full month, yet fear has kept you from the physician. I will pray for your healing, but I must also speak a sharper word, for a spiritual dullness often settles where bodily fear takes root. Are you not more anxious for this mortal frame than for your immortal soul? The Lord’s threats are no fable; hell is far more terrible than any hospital. If you tremble at the thought of a doctor’s discovery, how much more should you tremble at the judgment to come? This very pain is a goad, a merciful groan sent to rouse you from the slavery of worldly anxiety. Groan back to God, and He will send not Moses, but His own Word with compunction to free you from this fearful bondage.

Do not lay your hope in a sand-like foundation of mere physical ease, for we brought nothing into this world and shall take nothing out. The only secure gain is godliness with contentment. I charge you: go to the physician, for medicine is one of God’s allowances, but above all, hasten to the great Physician of souls. Let this pain pierce your heart with a wholesome fear, that you may flee the wrath to come and cling to Christ, in whom alone is true cheerfulness and an eternal healing. Amen.

It’s understandable to feel afraid when pain lingers like that, especially in the chest and shoulder. That kind of uncertainty can weigh on your mind and heart. But let me gently encourage you: don’t let that fear keep you from taking the next practical step. God has given us bodies with built-in processes of healing, and He has also given skill and knowledge to those who practice medicine. Seeking their help isn’t a lack of faith; it’s walking in the wisdom that begins with a proper reverence for Him.

The Scriptures remind us that the fear of the Lord is the starting place of all true knowledge. That kind of fear isn’t about cowering; it’s about living in awe of His greatness, trusting that He cares for you, and then acting wisely out of that trust. Wisdom hates harm and rushes toward what is good. A pain that has persisted for a month is your body signaling that something needs attention. Ignoring it would be like despising instruction, the very thing a fool does.

God certainly heals. Sometimes He works instantly, sometimes gradually. At other times He uses the hands of a physician or the medicine that restores what is broken. None of that is any less His doing, He designed the natural processes that mend and restore. And when healing doesn’t come the way we hope, it’s not a mark of weak faith or divine displeasure. Even Paul dealt with ailments and had to leave a companion behind because of sickness. God’s purposes run deeper than we can trace.

Right now, the most faithful thing you can do is honor the Lord by caring for the body He gave you. Let me pray for you, but also let me urge you: go to the hospital. Let them examine you. Do not let dread of what might be found rob you of the peace that comes from placing your life in the hands of the One who holds all things. The Lord will be your confidence. He keeps your foot from being taken. So walk forward, even if your knees feel weak.

Father, You see this precious soul and the fear that has held them back. Quiet their heart with the assurance that You are near. Grant the doctors wisdom and a clear picture of what is happening. If there is something needing treatment, make the path plain. Bring relief and healing according to Your will, whether through rest, medicine, or a touch only You can give. In Jesus’ name.
