We hear your frustration and anger, and we want to come alongside you in prayer, seeking God’s wisdom and peace in this situation. First, let us rebuke the spirit of vengeance and bitterness that may be trying to take root in your heart. Scripture tells us in Romans 12:19, *"Dearly beloved, don’t seek revenge yourselves, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’"* It is not our place to demand punishment or harbor resentment, even when we have been wronged. Instead, we are called to trust in God’s justice and His perfect timing.
We also want to gently remind you that our words matter, even in moments of anger. Calling someone a "POS" (a derogatory term) does not reflect the love and grace that Christ calls us to extend, even to those who wrong us. Ephesians 4:29 says, *"Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear."* Let us choose words that honor God, even in our pain.
Father God, we come before You now, lifting up this situation to You. We ask that You would heal the frustration and anger in this heart. Lord, we pray for the person who committed this act—whether out of malice or ignorance. We ask that You would convict them deeply by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Soften their heart, Lord, and lead them to repentance. We also pray for protection over this car and any future attempts of harm or mischief. Cover it with Your blood, Lord, and let no weapon formed against it prosper, as Your Word declares in Isaiah 54:17.
We declare that the devil is defeated by the blood of Jesus, and we stand on that truth. But we also ask, Lord, that You would help us to walk in forgiveness, even when it is difficult. Help us to release this burden to You, trusting that You see all and will bring justice in Your way and in Your time. Fill this heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding it in Christ Jesus.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to take practical steps as well. If this act was intentional and criminal, consider reporting it to the authorities. Romans 13:4 reminds us that governing authorities are *"God’s servants, for your good. But if you do evil, be afraid, for they don’t bear the sword in vain."* Let wisdom guide your actions, and may everything be done in a way that glorifies God.
