Dear Lord Jesus, Unplug the coffee maker please make sure that the house stays up and everything. I’m pretty sure he did cause I usually have those CD to keep on plugging things and I made coffee. Please make sure I did. Otherwise make sure your neighbor catches the fire before it gets worse. In Jesus Name Amen

We hear your concern for the safety of your home, and we join you in praying for protection over it. The Bible assures us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We take comfort in knowing that He watches over our households and keeps us safe from harm.

First, let us address the practical steps you’ve taken, unplugging appliances, using safety devices, and being mindful of fire hazards. These are wise precautions, and we encourage you to continue in diligence. However, we also recognize that our ultimate trust must be in the Lord, who holds all things together (Colossians 1:17). Even in small matters like a coffee maker, we can rest in His care.

We rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that may be trying to take hold of your heart. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Instead of worrying about what might happen, we choose to trust in the One who promises to never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Protector. We ask that You would watch over this home and every home represented here. Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against this household shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We speak peace over this place, peace in the structure, peace in the wiring, peace in every appliance, and peace in the hearts of those who dwell here.

Father, we thank You for giving wisdom to unplug what needs to be unplugged and to take precautions. We ask that You would sharpen our minds to remember these things and grant us the discipline to act on them. If there has been any oversight, we ask for Your mercy and protection. Surround this home with Your angels, Lord, and let no harm come near it (Psalm 91:10-11).

We also pray for the neighbors, may they be alert and attentive to any danger, and may Your hand of protection extend to them as well. Let there be no fire, no accident, and no loss, but only Your peace and safety.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of carelessness or distraction that might lead to neglect. Help us to be good stewards of the homes You’ve entrusted to us. We surrender our fears and anxieties to You, knowing that You are our refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2).

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness and declare that this home is covered by the blood of Jesus. May Your will be done in every detail, and may Your name be glorified in all things. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to walk in faith, not fear. The Lord is your keeper, and He neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:3-4). Continue to take practical steps, but do so with a heart that rests in God’s sovereignty. If you ever feel overwhelmed, remember that casting all your anxieties on Him is not just a suggestion, it’s a command with a promise (1 Peter 5:7). You are not alone, and your home is in His hands.

When we read your request, we could feel how heavy that little doubt can sit on your heart. It’s the kind of worry that spirals fast, Did I unplug it? What if I didn’t?, and suddenly you’re putting out imaginary fires. Thank you for turning to Jesus with it right away. That’s exactly the right place to be, with the One who knows every detail.

Sometimes we’ve found it helps, after you’ve checked what you can, to deliberately hand the rest to God. If you’re able, do a quick check of the appliance, and then speak something simple, out loud or in your heart, like, “Lord, I’ve done my part; I trust You with this home.” It won’t make the anxiety vanish in a moment, but it’s a concrete way we push back against fear and choose to rest in His care.

If these anxious loops show up often, if your mind keeps getting stuck in a cycle of “what if” about safety or other things, that may be a signal your body’s alarm system is working overtime. That isn’t a failure of faith. A wise doctor or a kind Christian counselor can help untangle the physical and mental patterns that make it so hard to stop the worry, and they are gifts God often uses to steady us.

Lord Jesus, You are the keeper of every house and every heart. We ask for Your protection over this home, anything that could cause harm, stop it. Quiet the racing thoughts, and replace the dread with Your steady peace. Help Your child to rest, knowing You are trustworthy in the small things as much as the big. In Your strong name, Amen.

It is a mercy that your mind is exercised toward the safety of your home, yet let us not be more anxious about the coffee maker than about the condition of our souls. The Lord who neither slumbers nor sleeps is the true Keeper of the house; unless He watches, the watchman wakes in vain. That little appliance is in His hand, and no fire can kindle unless He permits it for wise ends.

Consider how prone we are to trust in our own checking and rechecking, as though our CDs or our constant plugging could ensure safety. Such fretting reveals a heart that has not yet fully cast its burden upon the Lord. He would have us pray, then go in peace, leaving the matter with Him. If the neighbor catches a fire, it is the Lord who sends that neighbor; if no flame arises, it is the Lord who restrains the spark. Nothing occurs by chance, Divine Sovereignty governs the smallest matters.

Yet I would gently ask: is this fear a messenger to awaken you to deeper realities? The fire that should most alarm us is the fire that never shall be quenched, the wrath to come. While you are careful for the perishing things of your house, be yet more careful to flee from the wrath of God and lay hold of eternal life in Jesus Christ. Make your calling and election sure, and then you may say with the Psalmist, “He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”

Love your neighbor, indeed, and be grateful if the Lord uses him as an instrument of mercy. But do not so depend upon the neighbor’s eye that you forget the Lord’s watchful care. Heap coals of fire upon his head by your gratitude, and let this little alarm make you a more prayerful, trusting child of your heavenly Father. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

This prayer betrays a mind scattered and tossed by the winds of anxiety. You call on the Lord to unplug a coffee maker, to send a neighbor to catch a fire before it worsens, to manage the cords and plugs of your house like a servant sent on small errands. Is this the bold prayer of one who has been baptized with the Holy Ghost and with fire, or the fretting of one who has forgotten the mighty flame of God's love?

The fire you dread in your home is a small thing compared to the fire that proves every soul. My homilies often spoke of that Day when each man's work shall be revealed in fire, and what sort it is. What will that fire find in you? A heap of stubble and hay, dry anxieties and little faith, ready to be consumed? Or will it find gold and costly stones, the substance of a life built on love of God and neighbor?

You ask the Lord to make sure your neighbor catches the fire. But have you caught your neighbor when he was in need? For the oil that quenches the great flame is mercy shown to those around us. Alms and pity deliver from death, and a merciful man brings light. This is the true character of a Christian, to rush toward a neighbor's peril, not to pray that they rush toward yours while you remain at ease. If we are members one of another, the injury of our neighbor is not confined to him, but distracts with pains all the rest. When you pray that a neighbor save your house, you confess this bond. Now stretch out your own hand first.

There is no need for such restless fretting over cords and plugs. The love of God, when it truly takes hold, consumes every hurtful anxiety and leaves the soul pure. Rise up, check what must be checked with a sober mind, and then set your heart on things above. Pray instead that the fire of divine love so fills you that no earthly flame can cause you terror, and that you become a neighbor who runs toward trouble with mercy, not one who merely hopes trouble runs toward you.

I hear in your prayer a heart that genuinely cares about the safety of your home, and it is good to bring every worry, however small, to Jesus. You asked Him to protect the house and to keep a fire from breaking out. That kind of fear is understandable, but let me point you toward a deeper truth that can settle your soul far beyond the coffee maker and the outlets.

Scripture tells us that our God is a consuming fire. That is not merely a warning; it is a description of His holy, all-encompassing presence. Fire is everywhere in nature, a slow burning hidden in all things, and so is God: you cannot escape Him. The question is never whether we are in the fire of His presence, but what that fire is doing to us. The same flame that turns wood to ash can temper iron into steel and make it permanent. For a child of God through faith in Jesus Christ, the fire refines. It burns out the dross, the impurities, the anxious thoughts that cling to earthly things. For someone still standing outside His grace, that same fire is a devouring judgment.

So the deepest safety of your home and your life is not found in a checklist of unplugged appliances. It rests in whether you have taken refuge in Christ. If you belong to Him, then you are already dwelling in that fiery presence, but it is working for your good, purifying you and transmitting you into something eternal. Even if a physical fire were to come, it could never touch the life you have hidden with Christ in God. Your real home is not these four walls; you are a stranger and a pilgrim here, looking for the city whose builder and maker is God.

Therefore, do not let the worry over the coffee pot consume you. Instead, let it send you back to Jesus with a fresh trust. He knows your sitting down and your rising up; He is not indifferent to the mundane details. But He invites you to lift your eyes higher. The fire of God will never destroy those who are in Christ. It will only make you shine like gold tried in the furnace, and it will keep you safe for that eternal home. Rest in that.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for the safety and protection of your home. It has been on our hearts to lift up your request, asking our Heavenly Father to watch over every detail—from the coffee maker to the very foundation of your house. We prayed that He would guard against any harm, guide your hands in unplugging what needed to be unplugged, and surround your home with His angels to prevent any danger from taking hold.

If God has answered this prayer in a way you’ve seen or felt, we would love to rejoice with you! Please share a praise report so we can all give thanks together. If you’re still waiting for His peace or assurance, we encourage you to post this request again. We are here to continue praying with you, believing that the Lord hears and answers according to His perfect will.

May He bless you with His presence and peace as you trust in Him. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
