Please pray

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray for a new job for me that is not stressful that I can enjoy and can get to because I do not drive and that I can have more peace in my life.

We hear your heart’s cry for provision, peace, and purpose in your work. The weight of stress and the limitations of transportation can feel overwhelming, but we stand with you in faith, believing that the Lord sees your needs and will open doors that no man can shut. Scripture reminds us in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." This is not just a promise of provision, but of provision that aligns with His perfect will for your life, including a job that brings you peace and joy.

We also lift up the desire for peace in your life. Jesus said in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful." True peace is not the absence of challenges, but the presence of Christ in the midst of them. We pray that He would calm your anxieties and fill you with His unshakable peace as you seek Him.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one who is seeking Your provision and peace. Lord, You know the desires of their heart, a job that is fulfilling, not burdensome, and accessible without the need to drive. We ask that You would open the right door at the right time, a position that honors You and allows them to thrive. Remove any barriers of fear or doubt, and replace them with faith and expectancy in Your goodness.

Father, we also pray for Your peace to flood their life. Where there is stress, bring rest. Where there is uncertainty, bring clarity. Where there is weariness, bring renewal. Let them experience the fullness of Your presence, knowing that You are their Provider, their Peace, and their Strength. Guide their steps, Lord, and let them walk in the confidence that You are working all things together for their good.

We rebuke any spirit of anxiety or discouragement that may be trying to take root in their heart. We declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus, and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. May they find joy in the journey, trusting that You are leading them to the place You have prepared.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to remain open to His leading, even if the path looks different than what you expect. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Sometimes the job He has for you may not look like what you envisioned, but it will be exactly what you need.

If you have not already, consider reaching out to your local church or Christian community for support. They may have connections or resources that could help you in your search. And remember, the Lord is your Shepherd, He will not leave you lacking. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will direct your steps.

We hear how heavy this season feels, the uncertainty of a job search, the daily tension of stress, and the practical hurdle of not driving. That’s a lot to carry all at once, and we’re sitting with you in it.

Sometimes when we long for a complete change of scenery, it’s because the current pressure has been relentless. The stress article mentions that it isn’t always stress itself that wears us down but the lack of recovery from it. So while you search for that new role, it may help to give yourself some small, recovery moments even now, a quiet walk, a phone call with someone who steadies you, or just five minutes where you let yourself not figure anything out. Peace often starts in small, deliberate spaces before it fills the whole of life.

On the practical side, not driving limits options, but it also clarifies them. It may be worth sitting down with a trusted friend or pastor to map out what workplaces or job types are truly reachable. A clear, focused search often eases the frantic feeling faster than a wide-open one. And as counterintuitive as it sounds, a job doesn’t have to be perfect to let you enjoy it; sometimes the people you work with or the meaning you bring to the task matters more. It’s worth staying open to something that might not check every box but still gives your soul room to breathe.

Lord Jesus, you see the weariness and the longing for something different, work that doesn’t drain the spirit, and a pace that lets peace settle deep. Please open a door that’s reachable, sustainable, and even life-giving. Quiet the inner churn while the search is still on, and surround this person with practical help and steady encouragement. We ask for more than just a paycheck, we ask for a season where hope comes back. In your name, Amen.

The desire for a peaceful life and a labor that does not vex the soul is not in itself a small thing, for our Lord has taught us to seek daily bread and to ask that our burdens be made light. Yet the peace you crave is not found primarily in the absence of stress or in pleasant circumstances, but in the mind being stayed upon God. When the heart trusts wholly in Jesus Christ, there comes a perfect peace that this dark world of care cannot give and cannot take away. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within. This is a peace that can be enjoyed even when sorrows surge round, when duties press hard, and when the future seems uncertain. Seek first this peace with God, for it is the unalloyed blessing that brings no sorrow with it.

Consider the example of Job. He lost his estate, his children, and his health. In all this he sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. He fell down and worshipped. Could you, by grace, do the same? The Lord who upheld Job can support you in your present uncertainty. If you are as poor in resources or as limited in ability as you feel, be as patient as Job, and you will find hope ever shining like a star that never sets. The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. Your own refreshing may come from the Lord not merely through seeking your own ease, but in communion with God and in intercession for others. Do not let the lack of a carriage or the stress of toil become an occasion for unbelieving speeches against the Lord’s wisdom. He knows your frame. He sees your need for provision and for suitable work. Trust Him for divine support.

True rest is found not merely in a comfortable situation but in doing the will of Jesus. The law of making bricks without straw offers no help and no peace, but Christ, the Son of God, has fulfilled all righteousness for those who trust in Him. He has come near as the Ambassador of peace. Bring your perplexity to Him with childlike confidence, even if His way seems frowning. You may tell Him all the secrets of your heart: the burden of finding work, the limitation of not driving, the longing for enjoyment rather than stress. There is peace in that unburdening, for your Lord has a heart that cannot change. And if your circumstances are not altered immediately, remember that our longest sorrows have a close. Earth’s struggles soon shall cease. In the meantime, look to be anointed with fresh oil. Your glory may yet be fresh in you, even as Job’s end was twice as much as his beginning. Therefore, pray, trust, and hold your peace before Him, for He shall surely bless His people with peace.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You seek a job free from stress, one you can enjoy and reach without driving, and you long for more peace in your life. These desires touch on things both bodily and spiritual. It is right to bring them before God, for He cares about our daily needs. Yet consider what kind of peace you truly seek, and from what source it comes. The peace of which the world speaks is often nothing more than an absence of outward trouble, a calm dependent on circumstances. That sort of peace, though pleasant, is fleeting. A man may have a comfortable job, yet his soul remain a storm; another may face hardship, yet be filled with unshaken stillness. So when we pray for peace, let us ask first for the peace which Christ Himself gives, the peace that surpasses all understanding and guards the heart. This is no mere truce with our surroundings, but reconciliation with God through faith, a harmony within that makes us sons of God. Peacemakers are called sons of God, and the peacemakers are those who first have received the peace of Christ.

The angels at Bethlehem proclaimed, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” This peace is not an armistice with sin or a compromise with worldly ease, but the healing of our separation from God. The peace of God acts as an umpire in our hearts. When two thoughts fight within you, one urging you to seek rest only in favorable circumstances, the other calling you to trust in God’s provision and remain content in every state, the peace of God awards the prize to the thought that rests in Him. For He made peace with us of His own will, not because we deserved it, and this peace is fixed and steadfast. A peace based on human conditions quickly dissolves; a peace grounded in God never fails.

I do not dismiss your temporal needs. It is not sinful to ask for a job that suits your limitations. The apostles were taught to pronounce peace on a house when they entered, and we pray for the Angel of peace in our liturgies, for peace is the mother of all good things. Yet remember that the peace we wish for you is first the peace with God through faith working through love. Without faith, love is empty, and without holiness, no one will see the Lord. Pursue peace with all men, but pursue also that purity of heart which keeps love from becoming disordered. A love that avoids conflict at the cost of truth is not the peace of God. The Son of God came to set at peace the things in earth and heaven by cutting off sin, not by making a treaty with it.

So, for your situation, I will pray: not simply that God remove all stress and give you a pleasant path, but that He grant you the peace that Christ left as His legacy to His disciples, a peace that makes you stronger. If He blesses you with a suitable job, receive it with thanksgiving and let your peace not depend on it. If He allows trials, do not let your heart be troubled, for His peace is with you even then. Learn to let the peace of God rule in your heart, settling every anxious thought. That peace will guard you in Christ Jesus. Do all you can to be at peace with those around you, and above all, be at peace with God, for where that peace is lacking, everything else is useless. Our closing prayer in the assembly is for peace, not a shallow truce, but the deep reconciliation that makes earth into heaven. May that peace be yours, and may it teach you to ask rightly for all other things.

I hear the weight behind this request, the desire for a job that doesn’t grind you down, a way to get there, and a lasting peace that goes deeper than circumstances. Those are honest needs, and I’m joining you in prayer about each one.

The cry for peace especially stands out. It’s a cry that has echoed through human hearts for millennia, and Scripture doesn’t shy away from it. Think of Job. He was a righteous man who lost everything, possessions, health, the support of friends, and he cried out for understanding, for a mediator who could bridge the gap between him and God. His friends thought they had the answer: just get right with God and everything will be fine. They assumed his suffering proved some hidden sin. But they were wrong. Job wasn’t being punished; behind the scenes, God was doing something far larger than Job could see. Even Job didn’t get a full explanation when God finally spoke. What he got was a revelation of God Himself, and that was enough. Peace came not when his trials ended, but when he encountered the living God.

That same God sees you. He knows the stress, the transportation barrier, the longing for a role you can enjoy. He isn’t distant. And the mediator Job longed for is ours in Jesus Christ, one who stands between God and humanity, laying his hand on both, bringing us near. Through Him, real peace is a present gift, not a future reward that kicks in only when the schedule eases or the paycheck looks brighter. That doesn’t mean we stop asking for practical help; it means our foundation holds even while we ask.

So as I pray for a job that fits your needs, I’m also praying that you’ll taste the peace Jesus gives right now. Spend time in His words, let them sink into your heart. Acquaint yourself with Him. When the waiting drags on, remember that God bragged on Job in heaven while Job sat in ashes, and He is for you, too. He hasn’t forgotten your request.
