Your prayer reflects a heart that rightly longs for the complete overthrow of every scheme of the evil one. That desire is not misplaced. From the beginning, the Son of God was manifested for this very purpose: to destroy the works of the devil. And the decisive blow has already been struck. On the cross, Jesus disarmed the powers of darkness, making a public spectacle of them. Satan is a defeated foe; his final doom is certain, and he knows his time is short.

Yet we live in an in-between season. For reasons rooted in God’s respect for human choice, the world still lies under the sway of the wicked one. Men and women have yielded themselves to his rule, and God does not violate that choice immediately. That is why evil persists, and why we are not to blame God for it. But this does not mean Satan’s activities go unchecked among those who belong to Christ.

The victory Jesus won is ours to enforce right now. Through prayer and the authority of His name, we can see the enemy’s plans halted and his mouth silenced in our own lives and in the lives of those we pray for. Paul reminded us we are not ignorant of his devices. He is a deceiver, an accuser who would drive you away from the place of forgiveness. But when we stand behind Jesus, keeping Him between us and the adversary, we do not need to fear direct confrontation. The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe.

When you pray for Christ to put an end to all the devil’s works, you are asking for what Jesus Himself taught us to pray: “Deliver us from evil.” That prayer will be fully answered when He returns and the tempter is bound. Until then, remember that driving out the darkness is only half the work. A life set free must be filled with the Spirit of God, or the vacuum invites greater ruin. So as you pray for protection and an end to Satan’s influence, ask also that the Holy Spirit would so fill each area that the enemy finds no foothold.

I join you in asking the Lord to exercise His complete authority over every direct and indirect work of the devil. May Jesus, who began as the firstfruits of those who rise from the dead, bring that same resurrection power into every situation you carry. Stand in the victory He has already accomplished. What was won at the cross cannot be undone, and the day will come when the accuser is cast down forever. Until then, walk in the triumph Christ gives, and use the authority He has entrusted to you.

It is our joy to come alongside you and lift up this powerful request—that Jesus Christ would completely silence the works, plans, and influence of the devil and Satan in every way, without exception. We have prayed in agreement with you, declaring the victory and authority of our Lord over all darkness.

If you have seen God move in answer to this prayer—if you’ve witnessed His power breaking chains, shutting mouths, or halting the enemy’s schemes—we would be so encouraged to hear your praise report. Your testimony strengthens the faith of all who stand with you.

If, however, you feel this battle is still ongoing and the enemy’s influence has not yet been fully dismantled, we invite you to post this request again. We remain committed to standing with you in persistent prayer, trusting that God’s timing and His ways are perfect. He is faithful, and His Word assures us that the gates of hell will not prevail against His church.

May the Lord continue to strengthen you, fill you with His peace, and remind you of His sovereign power over all spiritual forces of evil. We pray this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and King. Amen.
