Disciple of Prayer
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I humbly ask you to pray for me. Recently, I have been having very disturbing dreams. In the first dream, I saw a pastor casting a demon out of me, and I was being lifted into the air. The dream felt so real that I suddenly woke up in fear. In another dream, I saw myself brutally murdering two of my friends. This dream also deeply disturbed and frightened me. These dreams have left me feeling anxious and unsettled. Please pray that God will protect me, fill me with His peace, and remove every fear, disturbing dream, and any spiritual attack. Please pray that I will sleep peacefully and remain under the protection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for keeping me in your prayers. God bless you all.

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting you up before the throne of grace. These dreams are indeed disturbing, and we understand the fear and anxiety they have stirred within you. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we serve a God who is greater and who has already overcome the world (1 John 4:4). Let us first rebuke any spiritual attack in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We command every spirit of fear, torment, and deception to flee from you now, for it is written, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7).

Your mention of dreams involving demonic activity and violence is concerning, and we must address this with the authority given to us in Christ. Jesus has given us power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt us (Luke 10:19). We declare that you are covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The dreams you described do not define you, nor do they have power over you, for "greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

We also want to encourage you to examine your heart and your daily walk with the Lord. Are there areas in your life where you may have opened a door to the enemy, even unknowingly? This could be through unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, involvement in occult practices, or even consuming media that invites darkness into your mind. The Bible warns us, "Don’t give the devil a foothold" (Ephesians 4:27). We urge you to spend time in prayer and repentance, asking the Holy Spirit to reveal anything that needs to be surrendered to God. Confess any known sin and receive His forgiveness, for "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

We also encourage you to fill your mind with the Word of God. The psalmist writes, "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path" (Psalm 119:105). Meditate on Scripture before you sleep, and let it be the last thing on your mind as you drift off. Speak the Word over your life and declare God’s promises aloud. For example, you can declare, "The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1). The enemy cannot stand against the truth of God’s Word.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our dear brother/sister to You, asking for Your divine protection and peace to surround them. Lord, we rebuke every spirit of fear, torment, and deception that has sought to disturb their mind and heart. We declare that they are covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper. Father, we ask that You would fill them with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Lord, we pray that You would give them restful and peaceful sleep, free from disturbing dreams and spiritual attacks. Let Your angels encamp around them, protecting them from all harm (Psalm 34:7). We ask that You would reveal any areas in their life where the enemy may have gained a foothold, and lead them in repentance and restoration. Cleanse them from all unrighteousness and fill them with Your Holy Spirit.

Father, we also pray for Your presence to be tangible in their life. Let them feel Your love, Your comfort, and Your strength. Remind them that they are not alone, for You are with them always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20). We pray that they would draw near to You, and that You would draw near to them (James 4:8). Strengthen their faith and help them to stand firm in the truth of Your Word.

We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Jesus Christ. We trust in Your protection and Your power to deliver our brother/sister from every attack of the enemy. May they walk in the freedom and peace that only You can provide. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith and to surround yourself with godly believers who can pray with you and support you. Do not isolate yourself, for the enemy seeks to divide and conquer. The Bible tells us, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). Seek out your church community and share your struggles with trusted leaders who can provide biblical counsel and prayer.

Additionally, consider fasting as a way to deepen your dependence on God and to break any strongholds in your life. Jesus said, "This kind can come out by nothing, except by prayer and fasting" (Mark 9:29). Fasting is not a way to earn God’s favor, but it is a powerful tool to humble ourselves before Him and to seek His face with greater intensity.

Lastly, remember that God is not the author of confusion or fear (1 Corinthians 14:33). He desires to give you peace and to lead you into all truth. Trust in Him, lean not on your own understanding, and in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). You are not alone in this battle, for the Lord your God goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you (Deuteronomy 20:4). Stand firm in your faith, and let the peace of God rule in your heart.

We are praying with you about these dreams, they can be deeply unsettling and leave a long shadow over your waking hours. Waking up in fear, especially after something so vivid, makes it hard to rest even when you're not sleeping, and we understand the anxiety that clings to you.

When our minds are this rattled, we sometimes need to gently undercut the fear rather than just fight it. One way to do that is to fill the space before sleep with something that steadies your soul. This week, try setting aside a few minutes at bedtime to sit quietly and meditate on God's love for you, not rehearsing your fears or analyzing the dreams, but simply resting in the truth that perfect love drives out fear. You might play some quiet worship music as you drift off; many have found that it calms the mind and gives a foothold to peace when sleep feels fragile.

You might also mention these dreams to a pastor or a mature believer you trust, not because you need a dramatic intervention, but because bringing them into the light with someone safe can take away some of their power. You are not alone in this, and the body of Christ is meant to hold one another steady.

Lord Jesus, we ask You to surround our friend with Your protective peace right now. Guard their mind from images that terrify and their heart from the dread that follows. Grant them deep, restoring sleep, free from disturbance. Let them wake with a steady sense of Your nearness and love. In Your name, amen.

Take no stock in these nightly fancies, for they are but the carnival of thought, a dance of disorder. The mind, when the reins of reason are loosed, runs riot, and we see fragments of this and broken pieces of the other strangely joined together, vanity of vanities! True, the Lord may at times speak in a vision of the night, but ordinarily dreams are but thin as the air, inconstant as the wind. Do not set your hope upon them, nor let your peace be shattered by them. It is natural to men to fear, but it is doubly natural to the child of God to trust.

You dreamt a pastor cast a demon from you, so then, you see a picture of deliverance, not of bondage. Yet you are terrified. The other dream, in which you saw yourself doing evil, is monstrous, but remember, it is a dream, not a deed. The wicked may have dreams that make them tremble, but what is that to you who have fled to Christ? If you are trusting in Jesus, then fear not; neither let your heart be dismayed. He who has washed you in His blood will not let your sins, nor your dreams of sin, separate you from His love. The enemy may shoot his arrows into your pillow, but the Lord is your shield.

Hear the command: “Fear not, you worm Jacob, for I will help you.” This is absolute; there is no loophole for dread. Fear dishonors God. Doubt the Eternal, distrust the Omnipotent? Traitorous fear! Has He not said, “So He gives His beloved sleep”? Lay your head upon the promise. Plead the peace of Christ, and let nothing move you. I shall pray that the Lord rebuke these terrors, and that you may sleep like Gideon’s fleece, dry when all around is wet with the dew of disquiet. Rest in the Shepherd’s care, for He gathers the lambs in His arms and gently leads them. Away with fear, and take instead the holy awe of forgiven sin, which is the true fear of God.
