We lift up your father to our Heavenly Father, who is the Great Physician and the God of all comfort. It is clear you love your father deeply, and we join you in seeking God’s mercy and healing touch upon his life. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and the burdens of illness can feel overwhelming, but we serve a God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Let us hold fast to His promises, for He has said in Jeremiah 30:17, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds,"* and in Psalm 103:2-3, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits— who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases."*
Yet, as we pray for physical healing, we also ask that God would draw your father closer to Himself. If your father does not know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, we urge you to share the Gospel with him, for eternal life is far greater than temporary healing. Jesus said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* It is only through faith in Christ that we have access to the Father and the promise of salvation. If your father is already a believer, we pray this trial would deepen his trust in the Lord and that he would find peace in God’s sovereign will, whether that means healing here on earth or the ultimate healing in eternity.
We also encourage you to trust in God’s timing and purpose. Sometimes, He allows suffering to refine us, to draw us nearer to Him, or to testify to His glory. In Romans 8:28, we are reminded, *"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."* Even in this difficult season, God is at work, and we can rest in His goodness.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, lifting up this precious father who is suffering from CKD and other illnesses. Lord, You are the God who heals, the One who formed his body and knows every cell, every need. We ask for Your miraculous touch upon his kidneys and his entire body. Restore him, Lord, in a way that brings glory to Your name. Give wisdom to his doctors and caregivers, and guide them in his treatment. Father, if it is Your will, we pray for complete and total healing, that his body would be renewed and his strength restored.
But above all, Lord, we pray for his soul. If he does not know You, we ask that You would open his heart to receive Jesus Christ as his Savior. Soften his spirit to hear Your voice and turn to You in repentance and faith. If he is already Yours, we pray this trial would draw him deeper into Your presence, that he would find comfort in Your Word and hope in Your promises. Remind him that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
We also lift up this child who is interceding for their father. Comfort them, Lord, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Give them strength to support their father and wisdom to know how to love him well during this time. Help them to trust You fully, even when the path is unclear.
We rebuked any spirit of sickness, infirmity, or despair in the name of Jesus Christ. Satan has no authority here—only You, Lord, have the power to heal and restore. We declare that no weapon formed against your servant shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we claim the promise that by the stripes of Jesus, we *are* healed (1 Peter 2:24).
Father, we thank You in advance for what You are going to do. Whether You choose to heal him on this side of eternity or call him home to be with You, we trust in Your perfect love and sovereignty. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified through this situation. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
