Your burden has been heard and we are bringing you and your wife before the throne of grace in prayer.
We understand how troubling this is, especially when you are both still seeking to recover from past wounds in your marriage. A strange call, an unkind answer, and a lingering doubt can feel like a heavy sifting, and it is painful when truth itself seems to be questioned by the one you love most. We do not take lightly the distress you feel when you are not sure your wife believes you.
We are praying that the Lord, who is the God of peace and who has prepared everything necessary for perfect reconciliation, will be your help in this hour. Marriage is a covenant before God, not of convenience but of sacred union, where a man and a woman become one, cemented by mutual love and fidelity. It is a tender and holy bond, and the Lord who ordained it is able to guard it and to heal it.
Take encouragement from the mercy shown to Peter. He fell grievously, and yet the Lord had prayed for him, and looked upon him, and restored him fully, so that he was entrusted again with the care of the flock. If you have known failure in the past, know that the same Lord Jesus is able to restore. If in this present matter you have walked uprightly, commit your integrity to Him who judges righteously. In either case, trust not in yourself, nor in your own feelings or resolutions, but trust wholly in the living God, who sees what is hidden and who brings truth to light.
We pray that you will both be enabled to trust the Savior more fully together. Faith is the golden ring of the covenant with Christ, and it must be the bond of your covenant with one another. Learn to trust Him in this temporal trial, acting in all prudence and uprightness, relying simply and entirely upon Him. He commands light to shine out of darkness, and He can shine into this confusion and give you peace.
For your marriage we pray thus: O Lord, look upon this husband and wife who desire to walk in Thy way. Let no root of suspicion grow between them, but cause truth to be clear and love to be patient. Teach them to be open and tender with one another, to bear with one another, to speak the truth in love, and to forgive as they have been forgiven through Christ alone. Heal what has been broken, strengthen what remains, and make this trial a means of deeper unity rather than division. Give the wife a comforted heart and the husband grace to walk with gentleness and transparency, that their home may reflect Thy faithfulness.
We encourage you, as you are able, to walk in the light before one another. Let there be no hidden thing, but in kindness share openly, answer with patience, and seek godly counsel together if the burden remains. And above all, trust your merciful God to restore you, to keep you, and to bear you through.
We will continue to pray for you both, that you may know the joy of restoration and the peace of reconciliation which comes only through our Lord Jesus Christ, in whose name we ask these things. Amen.
