Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart for your daughter and for allowing us to pray with you. We are joining you in prayer for her mental health, her confidence, and her friendships, and we are grateful for your trust.
Scripture shows there is a close connection between the health of the soul and the health of the mind and body. One of the apostles wrote a personal greeting to a dear friend praying that he would prosper and be in good health just as his soul was prospering. What we are learning about how we are made confirms this. Our attitudes and the thoughts we dwell on can affect our bodies and our overall well being. When the soul is nourished and strengthened in the Lord, it brings strength to the rest of our lives. For your daughter, that means her deepest confidence and resilience will not come from how others treat her, but from knowing who she is in Jesus Christ, that she is loved, valued, and held by Him.
That same truth brings a change of mind. When our thoughts are fixed on ourselves, on our hurts and fears, we can feel overwhelmed. When we turn our minds to the Lord and to His care for us, it lifts our perspective and gives peace. Pray for your daughter that God will help her to set her mind on Him, to find her worth in His love, and to experience His strength guarding her heart and thoughts.
It is also natural for a young woman to long for genuine friendships with peers who truly care for her. Scripture gives an example of a young daughter who went out to seek companionship among the young women around her, while her brothers had one another. That desire for caring, faithful friends is God given. It hurts deeply when a friendship that claims to be close proves to be manipulative and controlling. We are praying that God will guide your daughter to friends who are kind, honest, and who genuinely care for her well being, and that He will give her wisdom to recognize controlling behavior for what it is and the courage to set healthy boundaries.
We are praying also for that true friend you mentioned, that the Lord would give her clarity and loyalty to stand by your daughter, and that the nature of the harmful friendship would become clear so that your daughter is protected from further hurt.
We pray now for your daughter:
Father, we lift this precious daughter to You in the name of Jesus. You know her heart, her struggles, and her longing to be loved and accepted. We ask that You would prosper her soul as she walks with You, and bring health and peace to her mind. Fill her with confidence that comes from knowing she is Your child. Give her strength and resilience for each day, guard her from manipulation and control, and surround her with friends who will love her sincerely and care for her well being. Give her discernment and give those around her eyes to see what is true. Lead her step by step, and let her know that You are with her and that You will work all things for her good as she trusts in You. Amen.
Please know we continue to pray that the Lord will comfort you as her mother as well, and give you wisdom and peace as you support her.
