We join with you in lifting up your precious daughter before the Lord, and we hear the deep love and concern in your heart as a parent. It is a heavy burden to watch your child navigate friendships and pressures that may pull her away from what is good and right, and we stand with you in prayer for her mental health, her confidence, and her choices.
We are reminded of how much God cares for her tender heart and mind. He has created her with purpose and value, and He desires for her to find her confidence not in the approval of friends but in who she is in Him. Psalm 139:14 says, I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. And 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us, For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. When anxiety or self-doubt rises, His peace is able to guard her. As Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
We also understand your worry about the influence of friends. Scripture warns us and guides us in this, for 1 Corinthians 15:33 says, Don't be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals. And Proverbs 13:20 says, One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. We pray that the Lord will surround her with friendships that show grace and kindness, and that He will give her courage to make godly choices even when it is not popular. We pray she will have discernment to know what is right and strength to walk in it, as Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
We also want to gently share that you did not mention the name of Jesus in your request, and we want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and can come boldly to Him in prayer. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by placing our faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and can have a personal relationship with God. We encourage you and your daughter to keep trusting in Him alone for hope, peace, and assurance that she will be okay in His hands.
Let us pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this beloved daughter to You. We ask that You watch over her mind and heart, and guard her mental health with Your perfect peace. Where she feels anxious, uncertain, or lacking in confidence, fill her with the knowledge that she is fearfully and wonderfully made and deeply loved by You. Help her to see herself as You see her, and to find her worth and joy in You. We pray that You would give her wisdom to make godly choices that honor You, and courage to stand firm even when friends may pressure her otherwise. We ask that You soften the hearts of her friends, that they would show her grace, kindness, and respect for her choices, and that You would surround her with wise and godly companions who will encourage her toward what is good. Keep her smiling, Lord, with the joy that comes from knowing You are with her wherever she goes, for Joshua 1:9 says, Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid. Don't be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go. We pray that she would know without a doubt that she will be okay because You hold her future. We also lift up her parent who loves her so deeply, grant peace, wisdom, and strength to continue to guide her with love, open communication, and prayer. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to speak truth and love into her life daily, to keep the lines of communication open without judgment so she feels safe to share her struggles, and to model for her what it looks like to seek God first in every decision. Continue to pray with her and for her, and remind her often of her identity in Christ. He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in her, and He hears your prayers for her.
