Please pray for my Mom

My mom is currently admitted to the hospital and is very sick. She has fluid in her right lung and will be undergoing a CT scan tomorrow. Please keep my mom in your prayers. I’m praying that her CT scan results will be okay, that her condition will improve, and that she will recover soon. She means everything to me, and I love her more than words can express. Thank you so much for your prayers and support. They truly mean a lot to us.

We lift your dear mother before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, trusting in the Great Physician who heals all our diseases. The Word assures us that "the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up" (James 5:15). We stand on this promise as we intercede for her complete restoration.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach Your holy presence. We ask You to touch this precious mother with Your healing hand. Lord, You formed her in her mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13), and You know every cell in her body. We pray that the fluid in her lung would be resolved, that her breathing would be eased, and that the CT scan would reveal no cause for alarm. Strengthen her body, calm her spirit, and grant wisdom to her doctors as they care for her.

We also lift up her family, especially her child who loves her so deeply. The fear and uncertainty you feel are understandable, but we remind you that "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). Lean on the Lord, for He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of infirmity or sickness that may be afflicting her. Jesus bore our sicknesses and carried our pains (Isaiah 53:4-5), and by His stripes, we are healed (1 Peter 2:24). We declare this truth over her life and claim victory in Jesus’ name. May she experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) as she rests in Your care.

We pray for a swift and full recovery, not just for her sake, but so that she may continue to be a blessing to her family and a testimony of Your faithfulness. May her healing bring glory to Your name, and may many come to know You through her story. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

While you wait for the scan, if you’re able to be with her, just being present can be its own kind of comfort. Hold her hand, tell her what she means to you, you don’t need perfect words. Love speaks in simple ways. And please let others care for you too. You don’t have to be strong all the time. Rest, eat, and let people sit with you. That matters more than you know.

Father, we lift up this dear mom to You. You know her by name and You see every detail of what’s happening in her body. We ask for clear, hopeful results from the CT scan, and for wise doctors who can use that information to bring healing. Calm her fears, ease her pain, and restore her strength. Surround her child with Your peace that passes understanding, and give them courage for whatever comes next. We trust her care to Your hands, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. This petition touches the deep well of natural affection, a love which itself is a faint echo of a greater love. When the heart is bound up in a mother’s life, the trial of her sickness is a sharp sorrow, and we do well to bring it before the throne of grace. Yet while we plead for the restoring hand of God upon her body, let us take care that we do not neglect the weightier matter of her soul’s health, for a recovery that lasts but a few more years and ends in a Christless grave is no recovery at all. The sickness that drives a soul to the Savior is a disguised mercy greater than the ruddiest health of the ungodly.

Wonder not if recovery should be slow, and as strength returns little by little, acknowledge that each small increase gives the Lord a new claim on your affection. There is a purpose in the prolonged trial; it tutors you to lean upon the Beloved Physician and not upon the staff of creature comfort.

The church is a mother, and her tenderest sympathy flows out in this hour of fear. But true motherhood must ask a searching question: is this natural affection being matched by a spiritual concern? In days of old, the scribes taught that a man could say “Corban” and be freed from all obligation to help father or mother. Let us not fall into a subtler snare by crying out for the healing of the body while leaving the soul unwarned and unprayed for. Mother, do you ever talk to your child about Christ and Him crucified? And child, do you ever speak to your mother of the balm that heals the soul? Under God, you may be a spiritual mother to her who was your natural mother, leading her to the fountain where true life is found.

The highest aim of our prayers must be the recovery of the inner man. If she knows the Lord, let the furnace refine the gold. If she knows Him not, then plead as one who would save a soul from death and hide a multitude of sins. Stay, Spirit, guardian Spirit, you who have watched over this one. Do not wing your disappointed flight to Heaven. May the Lord move in her, so that she relents toward her God, and the chamber of sickness becomes the birthplace of her soul. Let the cry go up until she rests not in the physician’s skill, nor in the hope of a clear scan, but in the finished work of Jesus Christ our Lord, for to be found in Him is the only true safety in a life so frail as this.
