Please pray for my coworker

Artuamar

Disciple of Prayer
She is having very violent dreams about her ex boyfriend and he already threatened her before their break up. She has moved away from him and has no contact but he does know where she works. She is not a believer but is allowing me to minister to her. Please pray for her protection and most importantly that she will come to Christ and her ex as well. He is filled with demons.

We join with you in lifting up your coworker before the throne of grace and we thank God for your faithful heart to minister to her in Jesus' name. It is a beautiful thing that though she is not yet a believer she is allowing you to share Christ with her, and we pray that the Lord will use your witness to draw her to Himself.

We see the seriousness of this situation and we want to address it both spiritually and practically. Her violent dreams and lingering fear after threats from her former boyfriend are not to be taken lightly. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control as it says in 2 Timothy 1:7. Fear and torment do not come from the Lord, for perfect love casts out fear in 1 John 4:18. At the same time we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places in Ephesians 6:12. When you say he is filled with demons, we understand you are recognizing that sin, anger, violence and threats are rooted in spiritual darkness and the enemy's influence. We know that our God is greater, for greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world in 1 John 4:4, and that if we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil, he will flee from us in James 4:7.

We also want to speak to the nature of this past relationship with biblical clarity. We affirm that she was right to move away and to have no contact where there were threats of violence, for God calls us to peace and to protect life. We believe marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman designed by God, and that any courtship or dating should be with the goal of finding a godly spouse who is a fellow believer in Christ. Scripture teaches us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers in 2 Corinthians 6:14, and that marriage is to be held in honor among all and the marriage bed undefiled in Hebrews 13:4. If there was sexual intimacy outside of marriage in that past relationship, God calls that fornication and calls us to flee from it in 1 Corinthians 6:18, not to condemn but to lead to repentance, healing and purity for the future. We pray that going forward she will seek the Lord's will for a future marriage that honors Him, rather than simply seeking a boyfriend or partner, and that she will be restored and made whole in Christ first.

We encourage you to continue to minister to her gently while also helping her stay safe. We urge you to encourage her to keep a record of any threats, to let her employer and trusted people at work know of the situation for her protection since he knows where she works, and to not hesitate to contact authorities if she feels threatened again. The Lord is our refuge and strength and we pray His protection over her workplace. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them in Psalm 34:7, and he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty in Psalm 91:1. We will say of the Lord, He is our refuge and our fortress, our God, in whom we trust in Psalm 91:2.

We rejoice that you desire most of all her salvation and his as well. That is the heart of God who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth in 1 Timothy 2:4. We know there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12, and that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved in Romans 10:9. Jesus himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6. We pray that you will have opportunity to share this clearly with her, that she must come through Jesus alone.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear coworker to You. Lord, You know her by name, You see her fear, her trauma, and the violent dreams that torment her at night. We ask in Jesus' name that You would surround her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding in Philippians 4:7, and that You would guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We rebuke any spirit of fear, intimidation and violence that seeks to oppress her, and we declare that You have given her a sound mind and that no weapon formed against her will prosper. Lord, place Your angels around her, around her home and around her workplace, and keep her safe from all harm. Give her wisdom to take wise steps for her safety and give her employer discernment to help protect her.

Lord we pray most of all for her salvation. Draw her by Your Holy Spirit, open her eyes to see that You love her and that You sent Your Son Jesus to die for her sins and rise again. Help her to believe and to call upon the name of the Lord, for whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved in Romans 10:13. Heal her from any past sin and hurt, cleanse her and make her a new creation in Christ.

We also lift up her former boyfriend to You, Lord. You see his heart and the darkness that drives him to threaten and to act violently. We pray that You would break the power of the enemy over his life, that You would convict him of sin and bring him to repentance, and that he would be delivered by the power of Jesus Christ. We pray that he would come to know Jesus as Lord and be transformed, for You are able to save to the uttermost. We ask that You would restrain any evil intent he has toward her and that You would keep him far from her.

Father, strengthen our friend who is ministering. Give wisdom, boldness and love to speak the truth, give words at the right time, and let life and light shine through. We thank You that You are our refuge and deliverer and that You hear our prayers when we ask in the name of Jesus. We trust You to work all things for good and to bring both of these souls into Your kingdom. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We are so thankful you are standing with your coworker in this frightening season. It means a lot that she trusts you enough to let you walk beside her, and that you want both her safety and for her to know Jesus.

Violent dreams after threats and a breakup can leave a person exhausted and on edge, especially when the person who threatened her knows where she works. We encourage you to gently help her think through workplace safety, like letting a trusted manager or security person know the situation, having someone walk with her to her car, and keeping a record of any contact or sightings. A local domestic violence advocate or counselor found through the helpline above can help her make a safety plan that fits her situation, alongside prayer not instead of it. Please also keep your own boundaries and do not try to intervene with her ex yourself.

We are praying with you as you continue to show her Christ's care in quiet, steady ways.

Father, in Jesus name we ask for Your protection over this young woman at work and at home, for peace in the night and wisdom for each step. Draw her to Yourself and draw her ex to Yourself as well, bring healing where there has been fear and harm, and guide both toward help and hope. Amen.

Your burden for your coworker has been heard and we join you in bringing her before the throne of grace, and her former companion also, that both may know the mercy of God in Christ Jesus.

We give thanks that the Lord has opened a door for you to minister to her, for a silent faith robs God of His glory and robs others of benediction. As you have opportunity, speak plainly of Christ, for to you is the word of this salvation sent, and faith comes by hearing. Continue to drop the sweet myrrh of testimony concerning what God has done for you, that she may see there is a ransom found.

We pray earnestly for her protection. Though affliction may come distinctly from man through malice or threat, yet all things remain in the hand of our Father, and He is able to keep and to deliver. We ask the Lord to set a hedge about her, to give her peace in her sleep and to banish those violent dreams which trouble her, to guard her going out and coming in, and especially her place of work where she feels exposed. May the Lord who is good and whose mercy endures forever make His presence her refuge, and if earthly means of protection are wise and lawful, may she be given wisdom to use them while trusting wholly in Him.

Above all we pray for her salvation, for this is the greatest deliverance. She is as one going down to the pit, but God has said, Deliver her from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. That ransom is the blood of His own Son who bore the penalty of sin. We pray that she may see that truly in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel, and that in vain is salvation hoped for from any other hill or refuge. May she turn unto Christ, for He can do for her what she could never do for herself, and may she be delivered not only from the guilt of sin but from the power of darkness, for deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. We must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for both.

We pray also for the man who threatened her and who is held under the power of darkness. We do not ask God to bless what is contrary to His holy will, but we do pray that God who commands deliverance would have mercy upon him, that He who delivered us from the power of darkness would deliver him also, that his eyes would be opened and his heart turned from his evil way. For why will he die, O house of Israel. Turn ye, turn ye, for Christ is able to save to the uttermost. May the Lord grant him repentance and faith, that he may be justified from all things and kept from his iniquity by the grace of God through Jesus Christ.

We pray that both may know the hour when mercy strikes in heaven according to eternal purpose, and may be able to say with grateful hearts, I will praise Thee, for Thou hast heard me and art become my salvation. May your coworker be charmed with what God has done for her, and may you be encouraged, for He who has begun a good work is able to keep His own from all evil and to bring them safely through.

We commend you to continue in prayer and in gentle, faithful witness, looking for the Lord to work the work of deliverance in His own time and way, for He delights to do it.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
