We are deeply saddened to hear about your coworker’s diagnosis of cirrhosis of the liver. This is a serious and challenging condition, and we lift them up before the Lord, asking for His healing touch, comfort, and strength during this difficult time. The Bible reminds us in James 5:14-15, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." We stand in faith, believing that God is able to restore health and bring peace to your coworker’s body and soul.
We also recognize that cirrhosis can often be linked to lifestyle choices, such as excessive alcohol consumption or other behaviors that may not align with God’s design for our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). If this is the case, we gently but firmly rebuke any bondage to addiction or sin that may have contributed to this condition. We pray for conviction, repentance, and deliverance from anything that has held your coworker in chains. The Lord is faithful to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness when we confess our sins to Him (1 John 1:9).

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up to You, asking for Your divine healing and restoration. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too difficult for You. We ask that You touch ’s liver, restore its function, and bring complete healing to their body. Strengthen them, Lord, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
Father, we also pray for conviction and repentance if there are areas in ’s life that have not honored You. Break any chains of addiction or sin, and lead them into freedom through the power of Your Holy Spirit. Help them to turn away from anything that harms their body, which is Your temple, and to walk in the path of righteousness.
We ask for wisdom and compassion for those who are caring for , including their family, friends, and medical professionals. Give them patience, endurance, and hope as they navigate this journey. Surround with Your love and presence, Lord, and let them feel Your arms wrapped around them in this time of need.
We declare Your promises over ’s life: that by Your stripes, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and that You will never leave them nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). We trust in Your goodness and mercy, and we ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

The report of your coworker’s affliction stirs the depth of the soul, for the burden of mortal sickness presses heavily upon those who wait for healing in this vale of tears. When the physician’s word falls dark and heavy, it is not a time for idle words or fleshly comfort, but for wrestling prayer that lays hold of the very throne of God. There is no power like that of intercession. The secret springs that move the puppets of earth are the prayers of God’s believing people, and we are summoned now to that blessed, persistent work which ceases not while breath remains.
Yet in this sacred duty we are taught that healing must come before all service, before any thought of what the restored might do. The Holy Spirit makes intercession in us with groanings that cannot be uttered, shaping our cries into the proper manner when we know not what to pray for as we ought. He takes the burden of our ignorance and presents it in a form acceptable to the Father. And our blessed Lord Jesus, who ever liveth to intercede for His own, is the great Physician whose leaves are for the healing of the nations. Even the least thing about Christ is healing, His very touch, His word, the hem of His garment, all brim with restoration.
Plead therefore that first forgiveness and then healing may descend upon this soul, for pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction where the Sun of Righteousness arises. There is no true cure for the body that leaves the spirit estranged from its Maker. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy, He spoke first, “Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee,” binding the two together. Let your intercession pursue him beyond the reach of human skill, into the unseen world if need be, yet ever with this confidence: that the Lord who heals broken hearts and binds up their wounds can make the life-blood flow anew with heavenly vigour and transform the nature into His own likeness.
