Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart and letting us pray with you in this season of waiting and struggle. I have prayed for you, for this specific opportunity after your second interview, and for God's provision and peace while you wait for an answer.
Your experience touches on some of the deepest issues of life, the same needs and questions that people have carried for generations. The book of Job is one of the oldest books in the Bible, placed among the poetry books, and though cultures and times have changed, the cries of Job are still very familiar to us today. His story helps us when it can feel like God has forgotten us, because it shows that God is still working even when it appears that He is far away.
Scripture gives us a background to Job that Job himself could not see at first. God knew Job and spoke well of him, that he was a upright man who loved God and turned from evil. The enemy had been watching Job closely, studying him and looking for weakness, and claimed that Job only trusted God because God had put a hedge of blessing around him and given him so much. God allowed that hedge to be tested, not because Job had done something wrong, but to show that true faith rests on God Himself, not only on His gifts.
When Job suffered, friends came to comfort him but they did not truly help. They assumed his hardship must mean he was hiding sin and told him to try to earn God's favor again. Job knew that was not true, and he wrestled honestly with God, saying his grief felt heavier than the sand of the sea. What we learn from this is important for you too. Struggling to find work and waiting for an answer does not mean God is punishing you or that you have failed Him. And well meaning advice that says God will only help you if you prove yourself is not the truth of Scripture.
What is true, and what Job held to even in confusion, is that God is fair and God is just. He sees you completely, He knows your need for work and stability, and He cares about the details of your life. He is not distant. Through Jesus, who alone brings us to God and stands between God and us, we can come honestly to the Father with our needs and trust His character even when we do not understand His timing.
So I am praying that God will provide for you according to His wisdom and love. If this job is the right door for you, I pray He will open it clearly and grant you favor with those making the decision. If He has something else, I pray He will make that clear as well and supply what you need in the meantime. Above all I pray He will give you peace while you wait, strength for each day, and a deeper assurance that you are seen and loved by Him, and that He is at work for your good even in this uncertainty.
Keep seeking Him and laying your requests before Him. He hears, He is faithful, and He will lead you step by step.
