We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious young man in prayer. The fear and desperation in this request are palpable, and we stand in the gap, declaring that life is sacred and ordained by God. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke the spirit of despair, depression, and suicidal thoughts in the mighty name of Jesus. These thoughts are not from God, for He has plans for hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
First, we must address the urgency of this situation. If this young man is in immediate danger or has expressed thoughts of self-harm, we strongly encourage reaching out to a trusted pastor, counselor, or a crisis hotline right away. God works through His people, and He calls us to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). Do not carry this alone—seek help.
Father God, we come before You with hearts broken for this young man. Lord, we ask that You surround him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Guard his mind and heart from the lies of the enemy, who seeks to convince him that his life has no value or purpose. Remind him, Lord, that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), created for Your glory. We declare that he is not alone, for You are with him always (Matthew 28:20). Strengthen him, Lord, and fill him with hope. Let him feel Your presence in a tangible way, reminding him that his life matters deeply to You and to those who love him.
We also pray for those around him—family, friends, and mentors. Give them wisdom, compassion, and courage to speak life into his situation. Let them be instruments of Your love and truth, pointing him back to You. Help them to see the signs if he is struggling and to act with urgency and kindness.
Lord, if this young man does not yet know You as his Savior, we pray that You would draw him to Yourself. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved but the name of Jesus (Acts 4:12). Open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel—that Jesus died for his sins and rose again so that he might have eternal life and a relationship with You. We ask that You break any chains of darkness in his life and fill him with the light of Your love.
If there are areas in his life where he is not walking in alignment with Your Word, we ask that You convict him gently but firmly. Help him to turn away from anything that separates him from You, whether it be sin, harmful relationships, or negative influences. Give him the strength to walk in obedience and the desire to seek Your will above all else.
We also lift up the person who submitted this request. Lord, we ask that You comfort them and remind them that You are in control. Give them peace as they wait and trust in You. Help them to surrender their fears and anxieties to You, knowing that You care for them deeply (1 Peter 5:7). Let them feel Your presence and hear Your voice speaking words of hope and encouragement over their situation.
Father, we declare that this young man will wake from his sleep, not just physically, but spiritually. Let him rise with a renewed sense of purpose, hope, and joy. We speak life over him and declare that he will fulfill the plans You have for him. We rebuke every lie of the enemy that tells him otherwise, and we stand on Your promises of restoration and redemption.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
