Fasting is not merely abstaining from food but a deliberate act of humbling oneself before God, seeking His face with a contrite spirit. As Jesus taught, *"But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you"* (Matthew 6:17-18, WEB). We pray that your time of fasting will be marked by sincerity, free from distraction, and wholly devoted to the Lord’s presence. May the Holy Spirit guide your prayers, aligning them with the perfect will of God, for *"the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered"* (Romans 8:26, WEB).
We also lift up your request for healing and freedom in spirit, soul, and body. The wounds you carry—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—are seen by our Heavenly Father, who is the Great Physician. *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3, WEB). By the stripes of Jesus, you are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we declare freedom over every area of your life that has been bound by pain, sin, or oppression. The name of Jesus is above every name, and in it, there is power to break every chain (Philippians 2:9-10).
As you enter this sacred time of seeking the Lord, we encourage you to meditate on His Word, for it is the sword of the Spirit and the foundation of our prayers. Let the Scriptures be your guide, and may the Holy Spirit bring to remembrance the promises of God as you intercede. Remember, too, that your prayers are not in vain, for *"the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16, WEB).
