Disciple of Prayer
My mind has turned against me. Three weeks ago, to the day, I felt a powerful energy but since that day I cannot close my eyes without being tormented. I need prayer, ### years and I have never experienced anything like this. Then today I received a call my mother is intubated and on life support after aspirating and going in the cardiac arrest. I don't have any other updates right now. I'm sick to my stomach. I feel so overwhelmed and 8 can't do it alone. Please pray

We hear the anguish in your words, and our hearts ache with yours in this overwhelming storm. The torment you describe, this relentless assault on your mind and spirit, is not of God. Scripture tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). Whatever force has taken hold of you, we stand against it in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). You are not alone in this battle, and we refuse to leave you to face it by yourself.

First, we must address the spiritual oppression you’re experiencing. The "powerful energy" you felt may have been an opening to darkness, whether through curiosity, fear, or even unintentional exposure to occult influences. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he will exploit any foothold to torment the mind and spirit. But Jesus has already disarmed these powers and made a public spectacle of them (Colossians 2:15). We take authority over every lying spirit, every spirit of fear, and every tormenting thought in the name of Jesus Christ. We command them to loose their grip on you now, in Jesus’ name! The Lord rebuke you, Satan, and all your forces, you have no right to this child of God. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7 WEB).

We also lift up your precious mother to the Lord, who is the Great Physician and the Author of life. The news of her condition is heartbreaking, and we grieve with you in this uncertainty. But we serve a God who hears the cries of His children and is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). We pray for her healing, whether by divine intervention in this life or by the mercy of being called home to eternal rest. Father, we ask You to surround her with Your peace and presence, to strengthen her body if it be Your will, and to comfort her spirit. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust You to work all things together for good (Romans 8:28).

Yet we must also speak truth to your heart: you cannot carry this burden alone, nor were you meant to. The weight you feel is too heavy for human shoulders, but Jesus invites you to cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). You mentioned feeling "sick to your stomach" and overwhelmed, these are physical manifestations of spiritual and emotional warfare. The enemy wants you isolated, exhausted, and despairing, but God calls you to community, rest, and hope in Him. Have you spoken to your pastor or a trusted believer about what you’re experiencing? There is power in the prayers of the righteous (James 5:16), and you need others to stand with you in this fight.

We also urge you to examine your relationship with Jesus Christ. Have you placed your faith in Him as your Lord and Savior? The Bible is clear: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB). If you have never surrendered your life to Christ, now is the time. The torment you’re facing may be a spiritual attack, but it can also be an opportunity to draw near to the One who has already overcome the world (John 16:33). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you’re unsure about your standing with God, we encourage you to pray this simple prayer with us:

"Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner in need of Your forgiveness. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. I turn away from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life as my Lord and Savior. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to live for You. In Your name, I pray. Amen."

If you’ve prayed that prayer for the first time, we rejoice with you! The angels in heaven are celebrating your decision (Luke 15:10). Now, we encourage you to find a Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith and be discipled. The enemy will try to discourage you, but remember: "He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6 WEB).

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is under spiritual attack and facing the potential loss of their mother. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who delivers. We ask You to break every chain of torment in their mind and spirit. Send Your angels to encamp around them and protect them from every scheme of the enemy (Psalm 34:7). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and remind them that You are their refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).

For their mother, Lord, we ask for Your healing touch. If it is Your will, restore her health and breathe life back into her body. If her time on earth is complete, we pray for a peaceful transition into Your presence, where there is no more pain or sorrow (Revelation 21:4). Comfort our brother/sister in this unimaginable trial, and let them feel Your arms wrapped around them.

We declare that this storm will not destroy them. We speak life, hope, and victory over their situation in the name of Jesus. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust You even when they cannot see the outcome. Surround them with believers who will pray, encourage, and stand with them. And may Your name be glorified in all of this, for You are faithful and true.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

You are not alone. The Lord is your shepherd, and He will not abandon you in this valley (Psalm 23). Keep crying out to Him, and do not stop. We will continue to stand with you in prayer. If you need further guidance or someone to talk to, please reach out to a trusted spiritual leader or contact a ministry equipped to help with spiritual warfare. You are loved, you are seen, and you are not forgotten.

We’re aching with you as we read this. To face a sudden, tormenting mental battle for three weeks, and then get the news that your mother is on life support, is a wave of crisis few could bear alone. Thank you for reaching out. You don’t have to do this by yourself.

Right now, your only job is to get through the next hour, the next day. That’s not weakness; it’s how our minds and bodies respond to extreme stress. Feeling sick to your stomach, overwhelmed, and unable to close your eyes with peace makes total sense under this weight. You are not broken, you are in a storm.

A few things we hope you’ll let someone help with. If you haven’t already, call a trusted family member or friend to be with you while you wait for updates, and let them help coordinate communication with the hospital. If the torment when you try to rest intensifies, please reach out to a pastor or a wise Christian counselor in your area, not because you’re crazy, but because praying together in person can often bring a shift that solitary prayer cannot. You’ve been enduring this alone for three weeks; let someone stand with you bodily. In the meantime, when the fear rises, try simply breathing a quiet truth: “Lord Jesus, have mercy,” and picture yourself held in His strong, steady love. Even a few moments of rest can make a difference.

We’re praying now.

Lord Jesus, we lift up our brave friend. Still the chaos in their mind and body. Right now, surround them with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Shield their eyes when they close them, and silence any voice that is not Yours. Wrap their mother in Your presence; guide every medical decision, sustain her life, and bring her back to health if it be Your will. Hold this whole family close, and send tangible help, someone to sit beside them, cry with them, and remind them they are not forgotten. In Your mighty name we ask, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

My mind has turned against me. Three weeks ago, to the day, I felt a powerful energy but since that day I cannot close my eyes without being tormented. I am praying for you deliverance and protection. I am praying that Jesus will guard your mind and soul and you shall hold your peace. I am praying for victory for you. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen

The tempest that rages in your soul and the sudden darkening of your earthly hopes are not without divine purpose. That tormenting energy which pursues you when you close your eyes is a severe mercy, a voice from the pit of your own conscience awakened by the Holy Spirit to show you the carnal mind’s enmity against God. You are learning what you could not see in brighter days, that your own heart, apart from grace, is a cage of unclean thoughts, and that the law of God, when it comes in power, slays all self-righteousness. This is the hour of crisis, when Jesus passes by. Cry out to Him with the cry of faith, for faith is but trust and belief; it is the life-germ of the soul. He who gave sight to the blind will not despise your broken petition.

Your mother, laid low upon a bed of languishing, may in her extremity be made an able missionary of the cross. How often has a dying mother been the spiritual mother of those she bore! Yet life is a spider’s web, a single hair holding back the sword of eternal judgment. Do not presume upon another day. Repent, and bring forth fruits meet for repentance. Yield to Christ a personal obedience, though it separate you from every family tie and friend. I shall pray for you, but Scripture warns that intercession is sometimes useless where the heart remains unyielded. Let this double sorrow drive you not to despair, but to the Lord who wounds that He may heal. Seek Him now, and may your whole household yet enter the ark of salvation, safe from the deluge of wrath that is to come.
