We come before the Lord with you in this time of overwhelming stress and weariness, lifting your burdens to Jesus, who invites all who are heavy-laden to find rest in Him. The Word of God reminds us in Matthew 11:28-30, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."* You are not alone in this struggle, and we stand with you in prayer, asking the Lord to be your strength and peace in the midst of these trials.
It is clear that the weight of many pressures—your health, the actions of others, and the well-being of your son—are bearing down on you. Yet we are encouraged by Scripture to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). The stress you feel is real, but the Lord is greater than any circumstance. We pray that He would calm your heart and mind, filling you with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). If there is unforgiveness or bitterness toward those who are causing you stress, we encourage you to release it to the Lord, for He calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). Holding onto anger will only add to your burden, but trusting God to handle these situations will bring you freedom.
We rejoice with you in thanking the Lord for the provision of your benefits and the reopening of the government. These are answers to prayer, and we praise God for His faithfulness! Let this be a reminder that He is your Provider, and He sees your needs before you even ask. As Jesus taught in Matthew 6:31-33, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."*
For your son, we lift him up to the Lord, asking for wisdom and clarity as he takes his test and completes his project. We pray that the Lord would guide his mind and help him recall all that he has studied. May he feel the peace of God as he works, knowing that his efforts are seen by the Father. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* We ask that your son would trust in the Lord and not be overwhelmed by fear or anxiety, but instead rest in the knowledge that God is with him.
We also want to gently remind you of the power of praying *in the name of Jesus*. You ended your prayer with thanksgiving to Jesus, which is wonderful, but we want to encourage you to always approach the Father *through* Jesus, for He is the only way to God (John 14:6). It is by His name that we have access to the throne of grace, and it is in His name that our prayers are heard. As Scripture tells us in John 16:23-24, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through Jesus alone that we can boldly come before God.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift our sister before You, asking that You would be her strength and her shield in this time of overwhelming stress. Lord, You see the weight she carries—the weariness in her body, the anxiety in her heart, and the pressures from those around her. We ask that You would surround her with Your peace, a peace that transcends all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help her to release every burden to You, trusting that You are sovereign over every detail of her life.
We pray for her health, Lord. Touch her body and restore her strength. Let her feel Your healing hand upon her, renewing her energy and filling her with vitality. Remind her that You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too difficult for You.
For those who are causing her stress, we ask for Your intervention, Lord. Soften their hearts and turn their actions toward kindness. Give our sister the grace to forgive and the wisdom to respond in love, even when it is difficult. Help her to remember that vengeance belongs to You, and You will repay (Romans 12:19). Let her find rest in knowing that You are fighting for her.
We thank You for the provision of her benefits and the reopening of the government. You are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides, and we praise You for Your faithfulness. Help her to continue to trust in You for all her needs, seeking first Your kingdom and Your righteousness.
For her son, we ask for Your wisdom and guidance as he takes his test and completes his project. Calm his mind and help him to recall all that he has learned. Give him confidence not in his own abilities, but in You, knowing that You are with him. May he do well, not for his own glory, but to bring honor to Your name.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would draw our sister closer to You through this trial. Remind her that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, comforting her and guiding her in all truth. Let her find joy in You, even in the midst of difficulty, and may her faith grow stronger as she sees Your hand at work in her life.
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
