We have heard your cry and we are lifting you and your daughter up together before the throne of grace in Jesus Christ, for you did well to call upon His name, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and have access to the Father, as it is written Acts 4:12 and John 14:6.
We are so deeply sorry for the loss of your husband a year ago. To lose the one who was your whole world leaves a wound that only God can begin to heal, and we weep with you in this year of sorrow, sleepless nights, nightmares and grief that feels too heavy to carry. The Lord sees you and He is near to you in this brokenness, for Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, and Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. He has not left you alone in that bed where you do not want to get up, and He has not left you alone when you wake screaming and crying out.
We understand why you have been thinking what is the point in being alive and wishing you could fall asleep and not wake up. That deep weariness is the weight of grief, stress, fear for housing, physical pain and exhaustion speaking, but we gently remind you that your life is precious to God and to your daughter who needs you, and God still has purpose for you. He says in Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. And Psalm 42:11 says Why are you in despair, my soul Why are you disturbed within me Hope in God For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence. Please do not walk through these dark thoughts alone. We urge you to reach out right away to a trusted pastor, a Christian counselor, your doctor, or a safe family member or friend, and if you ever feel you might act on these thoughts, please seek help immediately from someone near you or a crisis helpline in your area. You are loved and you are needed, and the Lord wants to carry you through this valley, for Isaiah 41:10 says Donāt you be afraid, for I am with you. Donāt be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
We are praying for your physical needs together. We pray for your sleep and for peace over your mind at night, that God would quiet the nightmares and give you rest, for Psalm 4:8 says In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety, and Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We pray for healing for your teeth that have been affected by grinding in your sleep from stress and grief, that God would protect them from further shifting and from major issues, and we encourage you to see a dentist soon for care and protection for your teeth, as God often heals through the hands of those who care for us. We pray for your arms injured on your electric scooter, that the Lord would keep infection far from you and bring complete healing without lasting scarring, and we encourage you to have those wounds properly cleaned and checked by a doctor and to keep them cared for. We pray for your body and mind that have been exhausted for a year, that the Lord who says in Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest, would give you strength day by day to get out of bed, to go out again, and to find small steps of life renewed.
We are also praying for your housing and provision for you and your daughter. The fear of being homeless is a heavy burden, and we ask our Father to make a way for you to have more time until the end of the year and to find safe and stable housing. Philippians 4:19 says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, and 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. We pray that God would open doors for assistance, favor with landlords or agencies, and the help of His people around you. Please reach out to your local church, to housing support services, and to trusted community help, and let them know your needs, for God often provides through His people.
We pray together now, Father in heaven, we lift this dear sister and her daughter to You in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord, You see her broken heart after losing her husband, You hear her crying in the night, You know the trauma that wakes her screaming. Have mercy and draw near as the One who heals the brokenhearted. Grant her Your peace that surpasses understanding to guard her heart and mind, give her restful sleep without nightmares, and calm her spirit. Touch her body, Lord, heal her teeth and keep them strong, heal her arms completely, let there be no infection and no lasting scars, and restore her physical strength. Lift the heavy depression that keeps her in bed, give her hope to live, remind her that You have not forsaken her and that her life is held in Your hands and is precious for her daughter and for Your purposes. Provide for her housing, Father, grant her more time until the end of the year and lead her to a safe home where she and her daughter can dwell in peace. Surround her with caring believers, counselors and helpers who will walk with her, and teach her to cast every worry on You because You care for her. Lead her when her heart is overwhelmed to the rock that is higher than she, as Psalm 61:2 says. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
