We have read your request with heavy hearts and we are joining together to bring you before our Lord Jesus Christ in prayer, seeking His will for your healing inside and outside.
We are so sorry for the loss of your husband after ### years together. To love and live beside someone that long and then to face life without him is a deep wound, and it is understandable that going outside feels overwhelming and that grief still feels so fresh after more than a year. The Lord sees this sorrow and He draws near to those who mourn. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. We pray that He will bind up the wound of your heart as surely as we ask Him to heal your arms and hands. Jesus Himself invites you, Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
We also hear how tired and burdened you feel in your housing and finances, and how you have shared that you sometimes do not want to wake up and just want to be with your husband. We love you and we gently remind you that God still has purpose for your life here. Your two children, ### and ###, still need their mother, and your Father in heaven still holds you in His hands. Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. When those thoughts of not wanting to wake up come, please reach out right away to family, friends, or a pastor or counselor and let them walk with you. 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. You are not a failure as a mother. The Lord does not measure you by housing stress or by what you can provide alone, He measures by His grace and He supplies what we need. Philippians 4:19 says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We pray He will make a way for stable housing and for your daily needs and give you peace that you will not be left without a home.
We want to lovingly address your injury with truth and care. We understand the cost of a doctor visit and medication feels impossible when you are not working and not receiving support, and we are thankful your daughter is trying to help. Yet we must encourage you not to take strong antibiotics that were found in a box and not prescribed for this current wound. Even with good intentions this can be dangerous, the wrong antibiotic, wrong dose, or expired medicine can hide infection, cause harm, or create resistance, and it does not replace proper wound care. Our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit as 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 teaches, and part of stewarding that gift is seeking proper care. We urge you to make that doctor appointment for your arms and the lingering swelling under your little and ring fingers, and to have the wounds properly cleaned and examined to rule out infection and to prevent scarring and loss of function. Many communities have low cost clinics, community health centers, or church help that can see you for much less than you fear, and we pray the Lord will open that door and provide the funds. We also encourage you to have your teeth checked soon, nightmares and grief and stress can cause clenching and grinding at night that can shift teeth, and a dentist can help protect them.
We honor your ### years together as the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman that God ordained, and we thank God that you call on the name of Jesus Christ for healing, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We cling to that name for you now.
We pray together for you in Jesus name.
Father in heaven, we lift our sister to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the fall from her scooter, the pain and swelling in her hand and wrist and small fingers, and the fear of infection and scarring. Lay Your healing hand upon her, cleanse any infection, reduce the swelling, restore the movement in her fingers, and let her arms heal without lasting damage. Guide her to the right medical and dental care and provide for the cost according to Your riches. We ask You to heal her inside as well, comfort her in the grief for her husband, quiet the nightmares that keep her from sleep, and give her restful nights. Take away the heaviness that makes her not want to wake, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses understanding as Philippians 4:7 promises. Provide for her housing, that she will not be on the street and not feel forced to be a burden to her son, and show her she is loved and valued as a mother. Bless her two children and keep them in health and in Your care. Let her feel Your presence when she is isolated at home and lead her gently back into fellowship with others who can support her. We ask for provision, for health, and above all for contentment and trust in You, knowing You work all things for good for those who love You as Romans 8:28 says. We entrust her to Your will and Your mercy, in Jesus name, amen.
We encourage you to take small steps, call for an appointment this week for your hand and for your teeth, invite a family member or friend or a local church to go with you, share openly about the grief and the thoughts of not wanting to wake, and let the Lord carry you day by day. Isaiah 41:10 says Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We are praying that you will feel that upholding hand, that your body will recover fully, and that your heart will find healing and hope again in Christ.
