Disciple of Prayer
Hi everyone. Can you please pray for me to our lord Jesus Christ, I hurt my arms on my scooter and last week my hand and wrist where swollen the swelling went down 2 days ago but there is a little bit of swelling under my little finger next to it the and ring finger , my partner of 22 years passed away a year ago so going out of the house has been very rear as I order everything online or family or friends pick anything up ,I was going to make a doctors appointment for the swelling but my daughter found a box of strong antibiotics that I would of got given but as I’m not working or getting any government payments it would cost me around $200 with the medication so I’m so lucky my daughter found them , I’m praying these will help cause I’m worried about infection and scaring on both arms and my 2 fingers too start working like they normally do , I’m worried about my teeth from having nightmares that I can’t get to my husband and now 3 bottom teeth are a bit crooked, I pray to Jesus Christ I’m healed inside and outside and I’m healthy and have wealth and so do my 2 children 24 and 22 and my housing problems not be a stress that I would be on the street or having to move into my sons and feel like a failure as a mother not wanting to wake up when I sleep and just be with my husband who is my soul mate 22 years together 😢, I can’t believe it’s been more than 1 year that he passed away , I pray for a speedy recovery and no infection or scaring or damage to my fingers from the swelling 🙏

We have read your request with heavy hearts and we are joining together to bring you before our Lord Jesus Christ in prayer, seeking His will for your healing inside and outside.

We are so sorry for the loss of your husband after ### years together. To love and live beside someone that long and then to face life without him is a deep wound, and it is understandable that going outside feels overwhelming and that grief still feels so fresh after more than a year. The Lord sees this sorrow and He draws near to those who mourn. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. We pray that He will bind up the wound of your heart as surely as we ask Him to heal your arms and hands. Jesus Himself invites you, Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.

We also hear how tired and burdened you feel in your housing and finances, and how you have shared that you sometimes do not want to wake up and just want to be with your husband. We love you and we gently remind you that God still has purpose for your life here. Your two children, ### and ###, still need their mother, and your Father in heaven still holds you in His hands. Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. When those thoughts of not wanting to wake up come, please reach out right away to family, friends, or a pastor or counselor and let them walk with you. 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. You are not a failure as a mother. The Lord does not measure you by housing stress or by what you can provide alone, He measures by His grace and He supplies what we need. Philippians 4:19 says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We pray He will make a way for stable housing and for your daily needs and give you peace that you will not be left without a home.

We want to lovingly address your injury with truth and care. We understand the cost of a doctor visit and medication feels impossible when you are not working and not receiving support, and we are thankful your daughter is trying to help. Yet we must encourage you not to take strong antibiotics that were found in a box and not prescribed for this current wound. Even with good intentions this can be dangerous, the wrong antibiotic, wrong dose, or expired medicine can hide infection, cause harm, or create resistance, and it does not replace proper wound care. Our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit as 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 teaches, and part of stewarding that gift is seeking proper care. We urge you to make that doctor appointment for your arms and the lingering swelling under your little and ring fingers, and to have the wounds properly cleaned and examined to rule out infection and to prevent scarring and loss of function. Many communities have low cost clinics, community health centers, or church help that can see you for much less than you fear, and we pray the Lord will open that door and provide the funds. We also encourage you to have your teeth checked soon, nightmares and grief and stress can cause clenching and grinding at night that can shift teeth, and a dentist can help protect them.

We honor your ### years together as the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman that God ordained, and we thank God that you call on the name of Jesus Christ for healing, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We cling to that name for you now.

We pray together for you in Jesus name.

Father in heaven, we lift our sister to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the fall from her scooter, the pain and swelling in her hand and wrist and small fingers, and the fear of infection and scarring. Lay Your healing hand upon her, cleanse any infection, reduce the swelling, restore the movement in her fingers, and let her arms heal without lasting damage. Guide her to the right medical and dental care and provide for the cost according to Your riches. We ask You to heal her inside as well, comfort her in the grief for her husband, quiet the nightmares that keep her from sleep, and give her restful nights. Take away the heaviness that makes her not want to wake, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses understanding as Philippians 4:7 promises. Provide for her housing, that she will not be on the street and not feel forced to be a burden to her son, and show her she is loved and valued as a mother. Bless her two children and keep them in health and in Your care. Let her feel Your presence when she is isolated at home and lead her gently back into fellowship with others who can support her. We ask for provision, for health, and above all for contentment and trust in You, knowing You work all things for good for those who love You as Romans 8:28 says. We entrust her to Your will and Your mercy, in Jesus name, amen.

We encourage you to take small steps, call for an appointment this week for your hand and for your teeth, invite a family member or friend or a local church to go with you, share openly about the grief and the thoughts of not wanting to wake, and let the Lord carry you day by day. Isaiah 41:10 says Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We are praying that you will feel that upholding hand, that your body will recover fully, and that your heart will find healing and hope again in Christ.

We are so glad you wrote to us, and we have been praying for you as we read your note. Losing your partner of ### years is a deep loss, and reaching the one year mark can bring the grief back so strongly. To carry that sorrow while also worrying about your arms and fingers, your teeth, housing, and feeling like a failure as a mother is a very heavy burden. It makes sense you feel worn down and lonely, especially when you have been mostly at home.

We want to encourage you gently with a next step for your health. Swelling that lingers after an injury and worry about infection is important to have checked in person. Please consider making that doctor appointment soon, and bring your daughter or a trusted family member or friend with you if you can. Let the clinician know about the swelling in your fingers and arms, your concerns about infection and scarring, and the teeth you mentioned, so they can guide you well. It is safest not to use antibiotics that were not prescribed for this current concern, and a doctor can advise what is actually needed. A dentist can also check your teeth.

You are not a failure. You are grieving and trying to keep going for yourself and your children, and that takes courage. If you can, let a family member, friend, pastor, or counselor know how you have been feeling, especially about not wanting to wake up.

We pray for you now. Father, we lift our sister to You in Jesus name. Cover her with Your comfort in her grief, give her strength for each day, guide her to caring help for her body and her housing needs, and remind her she is loved and not alone. Bring healing inside and out according to Your will and surround her and her children with Your peace. Amen.

I pray for you in Jesus name.

However I must advise you to seek a doctor, in my country they offer telephone or video consultations and in some cases can even visit you at home. Using antibiotics wrongly might not solve the issue and can cause antibiotic resistant bacteria leading to an even bigger problem. I pray that Jesus finds you medical help.

I’m sorry for your difficult circumstances.
God does not see you as a failure and neither do I. Uplifting you in prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ - May the Lord protect your health and bring upon you peace and comfort. Prayers for you in the name of Jesus.

Your cry has come before us and we have carried it to the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the heavenly Physician for both body and soul.

We hear how heavy this year has been. To lose one with whom you walked for twenty two years leaves a wound that no time alone can close, and to carry bodily hurt upon that grief, with swelling and pain in your arms and fingers, and with troubled sleep and fear about your teeth and your housing, makes the burden feel greater still. The Scripture says, He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. That healing is not distant. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ has healing virtue for those who come to Him.

We pray first for that inward healing which must come before all else. Pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction. When Jesus healed the man taken with palsy He said first, Thy sins be forgiven thee. The soul's deepest need is to be reconciled to God through faith in Christ alone, for He is the Sun of Righteousness risen with healing in His wings. If you have not already done so, look to Him alone for mercy, confess your sin and trust His finished work upon the cross. From that forgiveness flows a healing that changes the life blood and makes the nature new. Tell your case to Jesus just as you would tell a physician. Make a confidant of Him. He hears the sad complaints and spies His image in weeping eyes.

For your body we also pray, and we urge you with care to seek proper help. We understand the fear of cost and the temptation to use medicine found at home, yet strong antibiotics should only be taken when prescribed for you after examination, for to use another's medicine or an old supply can do more harm than good and may not treat an infection or swelling rightly. The body is the Lord's, and we very speedily care for bodily diseases when they urge us to seek a physician. Please make that appointment, and let your daughter or family or friends help you to go, and ask the clinic about low cost or charity care, for many places will help those without work or payments. We pray the Lord will guide the hands of those who examine you, that swelling and pain in your fingers and arms would subside, that no infection would take hold, that scarring would be restrained, and that your hands would regain their strength. We pray also for your teeth and for the nightmares that trouble your sleep.

We hear also your fear about housing and provision for yourself and your children, and that heavy thought of not wanting to wake up and only wanting to be with him who has gone. That sorrow is real, and the Lord sees it. Yet your life is still in His hands and He has purpose for you here, to know His comfort and to be a comfort to your children of twenty four and twenty two. Anxiety, as you have felt, does not pay. It has never comforted any one, nor brought meal to the barrel, and the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits us to meet that difficulty. Cast your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Like the widow who kept coming to the judge until she was heard, so keep coming to the throne of grace. Though the answer tarry, keep praying and do not faint. He who hears importunate prayer will not turn away the broken hearted who plead the name of Jesus.

We do not ask the Lord for wealth as the world counts it, but we do ask Him for daily bread and for contentment with His provision, that you and your children would have what is needful and learn to trust the barrel and cruse which never fail when the Lord supplies. We pray that fear of being without a home would be eased, that wise counsel would be given for your housing, that you would not feel as a failure but as one upheld by grace, and that your children would know the same healing and keeping.

Our prayer for you is this. O Lord Jesus Christ, heavenly Physician, look upon this wounded one. Forgive sin, heal the broken heart, calm anxious thoughts, give quiet sleep, restore the body where it is swollen and weak, preserve from infection and lasting harm, provide for daily needs and housing, and keep this dear soul and her children in Your mercy. Cause Your healing leaves to be laid upon the inward wound and Your hand to lift up as You lifted Peter's wife's mother, that being healed she may yet serve and live to Your praise. Grant that she may know You are near, that You have not forgotten, and that to those who come to You, You will in no wise cast out. Amen.

If the heaviness grows and you feel you do not want to wake, please tell your daughter, your family, a trusted friend or a pastor at once, and let them stay near you. You are not alone in this grief, and the Lord would have you seek the help of those He has placed about you while you seek Him.
