Please God help!

The ### that I been praying to successfully complete, I have attended for 5 years now has dismissed me and refuse to reinstate me to repeat the last class. That door closed today but I am believing God that another door of opportunity will open up in the name of Jesus. I put in hard work and ends up with nothing.

We hear your heartache and frustration, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we stand with you in prayer, seeking God’s will in this situation. It is painful when hard work seems to go unrecognized or when doors close unexpectedly, but we know that the Lord works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Though this setback feels like an ending, we trust that God is opening another door, one that aligns with His perfect plan for your life.

First, we want to affirm your faith in believing that God will provide another opportunity. Your trust in Him is a testament to your reliance on His sovereignty, and we encourage you to hold fast to that hope. The Lord is faithful, and He does not abandon His children (Deuteronomy 31:8). Even in this disappointment, He is working to refine your character, deepen your dependence on Him, and prepare you for what lies ahead.

We also want to gently remind you of the importance of bringing every request to God in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and it is by His authority that prayers are answered. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through Jesus’ sacrifice that we can approach God with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). We encourage you to continue praying in Jesus’ name, trusting that He intercedes for you even now (Romans 8:34).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing this closed door. Lord, You see the hard work, the dedication, and the disappointment they are experiencing. We ask that You would comfort their heart and remind them of Your unfailing love. Father, we know that You are the One who opens doors that no one can shut (Revelation 3:8), and we trust that You have a plan for their future, one filled with hope and purpose. Please guide them to the next opportunity You have prepared, and give them peace as they wait on You. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to see this season as a time of preparation for something greater. We rebuke any spirit of discouragement or doubt, and we declare that this is not the end but a new beginning. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to seek the Lord’s wisdom through His Word and in prayer. Ask Him to reveal any lessons He wants you to learn from this experience, whether it be perseverance, humility, or a deeper trust in His timing. The psalmist writes, “Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh” (Psalm 27:14). This is a season to wait on the Lord, to draw near to Him, and to allow Him to direct your steps.

We also want to encourage you to seek godly counsel from fellow believers who can pray with you and offer wisdom. Proverbs 15:22 says, “Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established.” Surround yourself with people who will speak truth into your life and remind you of God’s faithfulness.

Lastly, remember that God often uses seasons of waiting to shape us into who He wants us to be. Joseph endured years of hardship before God elevated him to a position of leadership (Genesis 37-50). David waited years before becoming king (1 Samuel 16-2 Samuel 5). Your story is not over, it is being written by the Author of Life, and He is not done with you yet. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He will lead you into the next chapter of His plan for you.

In moments like these, it can help to remember that a closed door doesn't mean your effort was wasted. Sometimes God uses these pivots to redirect us toward a path we couldn't have seen otherwise, one that might fit us even better. That doesn't erase the hurt, but it does mean this isn't the end of your story.

One thing you might do is give yourself honest space to grieve the program you'd hoped to finish. Then, when you're ready, maybe ask God what skills, friendships, or strengths from those five years you can carry forward. Often the very things we think we've lost simply get repurposed in ways we never expected.

Father, in Jesus' name we pray for our friend here. Hold them steady in the ache of this unexpected ending. Replace discouragement with a quiet confidence that You're still working. Stir their hope, and when the time is right, guide them into the next open door with clarity and peace. Amen.

Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. That door is shut, and your labor seems in vain. But look higher! Christ says, "I am the door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved." You have been seeking an earthly qualification; now seek the heavenly one. Your faith in Jesus has saved you; go in peace. The Lord's dismissal is often gracious, that you might find your all in Him. A door is opened in Heaven, Christ is that Door. Enter by faith, and you shall go in and out and find pasture.

Do not despair over five years of hard work ending in nothing, for "the Lord will perfect that which concerneth me." Your trust in Him is not in vain. This seeming failure is but a call to grow in faith, to believe that Jesus is able to do this, to open another door in His time. Little faith looks at the closed door and trembles; great faith sees Christ, the Door, standing open. Even weak faith is true faith if it rests on Jesus. He who believes is as safe as Christ Himself. Therefore, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" Trust Jesus! He uses even dismissals to perfect His own. You are perfect in Christ Jesus by His sacrifice; let that be your confidence.

Go in peace, for your faith has saved you. The door of that class is closed, but the door of Heaven is wide open. He who entered by the door shall be saved, and shall go in to rest and peace, and out in liberty. Wait upon the Lord; He will not forsake the work of His own hands. Another door will open, or if not, you will learn that Christ is enough.

The door has closed after five years of labor, and the pain of that is not small. God does not despise your tears, and the apostle did not treat such trials as easy things. He knew that the soul overtaken by many trials can be turned aside even from the faith. That is why he says to lift up the hands that hang down and strengthen the feeble knees. God is not unrighteous to forget your work and your love.

You say you put in hard work and end with nothing. That is not true, if faith remains in you. The school may dismiss you, but God does not measure your labor the way the world does. What you planted in obedience and perseverance is not lost. Faith itself is the work God asks of you. When Christ sent the blind man to wash, the man could have reasoned that clay would blind him more. He did not reason. He obeyed, and his eyes were opened. So do not let the closed door become your final word. Keep obeying while you wait.

Pray still, and pray with persistence. The widow prevailed by her importunity. The friend at midnight received bread because he would not stop knocking. You have been praying five years. That is not wasted time. But pray also in the spirit of that father who cried, Help my unbelief. You can believe that God is able and still feel the ache of the shut door. That is not contradiction. That is faith fighting inside a wounded heart.

Let the door close. Another door is not too hard for the Lord to open. He who opens what no man can shut is not tired and is not late. But do not demand that the new door look exactly like the old one. You want to finish what you began, and that desire is not evil. Yet God may give you a different place, a different year, or a different work. In due season you shall reap, if you do not faint. Until then, the waiting and the praying are not empty. God is at work in them, even when you cannot see the harvest.
