We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, knowing that our Heavenly Father has a perfect plan for his life. It is wonderful that you are seeking God’s will for him in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Christ that we find true direction and purpose. The Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Your son’s confusion is not hidden from the Lord, and we trust that God will clarify his calling in due time.
It is possible that the enemy seeks to sow doubt and discord in his heart, but we stand firm in the authority of Jesus’ name, rebuking any satanic influence that may be attempting to derail his God-given path. Ephesians 6:12 tells us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* We declare that no weapon formed against your son’s future shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
At the same time, we must acknowledge that God may indeed be redirecting his steps. The medical field is a noble and needed vocation, but if the Lord is calling him to serve in another capacity—such as piloting—we must submit to His wisdom. Colossians 3:23-24 encourages us, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."* Whether in medicine or aviation, his ultimate purpose is to glorify God in all he does.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious son who stands at a crossroads in his life. Lord, You know the plans You have for him—plans for welfare and not for calamity, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We ask that You remove every shadow of confusion from his mind and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). If there are any spiritual forces seeking to mislead him, we command them to flee in Jesus’ name, for greater is He who is in him than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
Father, if it is Your will for him to continue in medicine, renew his passion and purpose for this calling. Give him strength, wisdom, and perseverance to overcome any weariness or discouragement. If You are leading him toward aviation, open the doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and prepare the way before him. May he seek You first in this decision, knowing that all things work together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
We also pray for his heart, that he would draw closer to You in this season. Remind him that his identity and worth are found in Christ alone, not in his career or achievements. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in wisdom, discernment, and obedience to Your Word.
Lord, we thank You for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. May Your will be done in his life, and may he bring glory to Your name in whatever path You choose for him. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
We encourage you to continue covering your son in prayer, speaking life and Scripture over him daily. Remind him to seek the Lord earnestly through prayer, fasting, and the reading of God’s Word. The psalmist declares in Psalm 32:8, *"I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you."* Let him know that God is not silent—He is speaking, and He will guide him as he surrenders his plans to the Lord.
If your son is not actively walking with Christ, now is the time to urge him to surrender his life fully to Jesus. Without Christ, even the clearest path will lack eternal purpose. But in Christ, every step is ordered by the Lord. Encourage him to seek godly counsel from mature believers who can speak wisdom into his life.
We will continue to stand with you in prayer, trusting that the Lord will make His will known. Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9).
