We hear the cry of your heart as a parent and we join with you in bringing your son before the Lord as he faces his MRI scans tomorrow. We know how heavy it is to watch your child suffer and we thank you for reaching out so we can seek God's mercy together.

We are reminded that our God is compassionate and hears us when we call on Him. He sees your son, his hard work, his suffering, and He sees your love and concern for both of your children. The psalmist says in Psalm 34:18 that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. We take comfort that He is near to you and to your son in this anxious time. We also cling to His promise in Jeremiah 30:17, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, and in Psalm 103:2-3, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases.

We want to gently share something important with you out of love. We noticed your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want you to know that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our sins are forgiven. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 we are told there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. When we ask for forgiveness for mistakes, as you have so humbly done, God has provided that forgiveness through the sacrifice of His Son. As it says in 1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, and in Romans 10:9, if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. So we encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus, and to come to God in His name, for He is our mediator and our hope.

We lift your son and your whole family up in prayer together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We thank You that we can come boldly to Your throne of grace through Him. Lord, we lift up this beloved son to You as he prepares for his MRI scans tomorrow. You know his body, You formed him, and You know every detail of his suffering. We ask for Your healing hand to be upon him, for Your peace to guard his heart and mind, and for Your presence to comfort him through the scan. We pray that You would guide the hands and minds of the doctors and technicians, give them wisdom and clarity, and that the results would be clear and would lead to the right care. We ask in Jesus name that You would restore his health, ease his suffering, and grant him strength. We also pray for his parent who is carrying this burden, grant them Your peace which surpasses all understanding as promised in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Father, we confess our sins before You and thank You for Your promise to forgive us through Jesus. Bless both of these children, Lord, keep them in Your care, grant them good health and a life that walks in Your will and brings glory to You. We trust them into Your loving hands, knowing that You work all things for good for those who love You. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to keep casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you as said in 1 Peter 5:7, and to continue to pray in the name of Jesus, trusting not only for a good report but for God's perfect will and His sustaining grace whatever the outcome. In Isaiah 41:10 the Lord says, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Lean on Him in the waiting, read His Word, and rest in His love for you and your children. We are praying with you for good news, for healing, and for long life in His mercy.

Father, we lift this dear son to You and his parent who loves him so deeply. We ask for Your presence with them tomorrow, for peace in the waiting, for wisdom for those doing and reading the scans, and for Your mercy and care over his health in the days ahead. Comfort this family, forgive as You have promised, and hold them close. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Your heart is heavy as tomorrow draws near, and the trial of these scans lies before your son. It is no wonder you write with such earnestness, please, please, please, for a mother's or a father's anxiety is a deep burden. Yet I have found, and you will find it true, that the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Cast then your care upon the Lord who cares for you.

Do you not know that He spared not His only begotten Son, but delivered Him up for you? After having done so much, will He withhold from you anything that is necessary for your well being? You may tell your trouble to Him, for He hears the cries of His children. He is not distant from your son's sick bed or from the room where the scans shall be taken.

There is but one great Physician who lays His hands on men and they are restored, and there is but one sacred Fountain opened on Calvary to wash and to heal. Jesus is the Tree of Life, and not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the little things as it were about Christ, are full of healing virtue. Until the glory life begins, the abiding power of those healing leaves keeps the soul of the believer in health. Men seek many remedies, but there grows no healing herb but the one plant of renown, Christ Himself. He Himself bore our sicknesses, and His health flows to those who are in contact with Him by faith.

You ask also for forgiveness if any mistakes have been made. Here is your comfort, that pardon and healing are joined together. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and where He comes to dwell, pardon comes first and healing follows. Once in the history of the world has the Son of God appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. When the Father saw His only begotten Son suffering even unto death, it made such an infinite impression upon His great soul that He forgets the sins for which His Son gave His life. If you believe your guilt was put away by His atoning death, you may know that He has loved you with an everlasting love. Him that cometh to Me, He says, I will in no wise cast out.

Let us pray together for your son and for your children.

O Lord our God, Father of mercies, look in compassion upon this dear boy who must pass through these scans tomorrow. Thou knowest his suffering and his hard work, and Thou seest the love of those who plead for him. Lay Thy gracious hand upon him and grant skill to those who examine him. If it be Thy gracious will, grant him good health and length of days, and above all grant him health of soul through faith in Thy Son. Forgive, for Christ's sake, all sin and mistake in this family, and let Thy pardoning grace be the healing of heart and body. Keep these children in Thy care, give peace to this anxious parent, and let all be ordered according to Thy wise and loving will. We ask not because we are worthy, but because Jesus Christ, our only hope and our only Physician, has borne our sicknesses and carried our sorrows. Amen.

Take your burden to Him in prayer and rest there. Trust not in your own holding, but in His holding of you. May the Lord give you quietness of spirit as you wait, and may you find that whether in sickness or in health, to be in Christ is to be on the way to eternal health, where you shall without spot or wrinkle be kept world without end.
