Beloved of All
Your prayer for help in deep exhaustion is heard, and God cares for both your body and your soul. There is a close connection between physical health and the inner life, and the Lord who made you wants to restore both. A joyful heart is like good medicine, and He knows you are worn down and need to be lifted up in every part of your being.
The first thing God offers is peace with Himself through the blood of Jesus Christ. When you have come to Him through Jesus, you are no longer at war with God or running from Him, and that brings a deep and beautiful peace. From that peace with God comes the peace of God, the peace that guards your heart and mind and passes all human understanding. Jesus said to His disciples, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. The world cannot give this kind of peace and cannot take it away. Scripture says He will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. When you keep your eyes on Him and turn your thoughts toward Him, His peace begins to fill your heart even in a world full of turmoil and striving. He has ordained peace for you because He has already wrought your works in you and He is in control.
He also surrounds you with His presence as a shepherd surrounds His sheep. Jesus is the door, and nothing can reach you without passing over Him. Like Jacob who lay down exhausted and saw a ladder reaching from earth to heaven with the Lord standing at the top, heaven is not far from you in your weariness. The Lord is near, and He makes His people to dwell safely and to sleep in peace. You can rest knowing the shepherd who laid down His life for you is watching over you.
I pray that the Lord will draw near and surround you with His presence right now and fill you with that perfect peace that comes from trusting Him. May He quiet your mind as you keep your thoughts stayed on Him, and grant you deep, restorative sleep that renews your body and restores your emotions. May His grace and mercy and peace be yours in full measure, and may He strengthen you for what lies ahead, feeding your inner life as you wait on Him, so that you awake refreshed and upheld by His hand.
