We join you in this cry for rest and we bring your exhaustion before the Father together in Jesus' name.
We hear how weary you are in body and in spirit, and we know our God sees this weariness and invites us to lay it at His feet. He does not ask us to carry these burdens alone. As Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. And in Psalm 61:2 we are reminded, When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. That Rock is Christ Himself, and He is your refuge even now.
Physical and emotional exhaustion can make us feel distant from God, but His Word promises that His presence is our peace and His strength is made perfect in our weakness. He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might. Isaiah 40:29. When anxiety and fatigue press in, we are called to cast all our worries on Him, because He cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7. And the peace that follows will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7.
We also pray that the Lord will grant you the deep, restorative sleep that only He can give, for He gives sleep to his loved ones. Psalm 127:2, and In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. Psalm 4:8.
We pray together for you.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to Your throne of grace. You see the exhaustion of body and soul, every ache, every heavy thought, every sleepless hour. We ask You to surround them now with Your holy presence and fill the room where they rest with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. Quiet their mind, calm their heart, and let Your Holy Spirit minister comfort and renewal. Grant them peaceful, deep and restorative sleep tonight, and let them wake renewed. Give them new strength for tomorrow, for Your mercies are new every morning. Lamentations 3:23. Restore their joy and uphold them with Your righteous right hand, and help them to rest not only in sleep but in surrender to You. We thank You that You are our Shepherd and we shall not want, and that You make us to lie down in green pastures and restore our souls. Psalm 23:1-3. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our only hope and our rest, Amen.
