Physically, emotionally exhausted

Your weariness is understood, and it matters to God. Feeling drained in body and in heart is a heavy place to be, and He does not ask you to carry it in your own strength. He draws near to those who are tired and invites you to rest in His presence.

Scripture reminds us that when our own strength fails, the Lord Himself is our strength. In Him there is everlasting strength, more than enough for what you face. To trust in Him is to find that He will sustain you and give you what you need for each step. He is the strength of your life, your help and your shield, and He has promised to give strength to His people and to bless them with peace.

That peace is part of what He longs to give you now. There is first peace with God, which comes only through the blood of Jesus Christ who made reconciliation possible, and then there is the peace of God to guard your heart. Jesus said He leaves His peace with His followers and gives His peace to them, a peace different from anything the world offers. The promise is that He will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on Him, because they trust in Him. When your thoughts turn toward Him and remain on Him, His peace that goes beyond human understanding can fill your heart even while the world around you is unsettled. It comes from knowing He is in control and that He has ordained peace for His children. He wants you to live in that quiet confidence.

I pray that you will sense His nearness surrounding you now, that His presence will be real to you as you lie down to rest. May He quiet your mind and heart, calm the turmoil within, and grant you deep, restorative sleep under His watchful care. Like a shepherd who lies at the door to keep His sheep safe, He watches over you through the night so no harm can reach you without passing through His care. And may you awaken renewed, upheld by His strength for all that the new day brings, with His peace remaining upon you.
