Beloved of All
Your honesty about being physically and emotionally exhausted is heard, and God does not overlook that weariness. He knows the limits of your body and your heart, and He invites you to bring that tiredness to Him.
Scripture makes a distinction that helps here. First there is peace with God, which only comes through Jesus Christ and His sacrifice that makes peace by His blood. When you belong to Him you are no longer at war with God or running from Him, and that alone brings a deep settledness. Then there is the peace of God, the quiet keeping of your heart and mind day by day. The prophet says God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts Him. Jesus said to His disciples, peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. The world offers distraction or escape, but His peace is different. It is the confidence that God is in control even when life is chaotic, a peace that passes human understanding and guards the heart and mind.
That peace is connected to your exhaustion. The Bible links the health of the body with the prosperity of the soul, and we see it in everyday life. A joyful heart is like good medicine, while constant inner turmoil wears down the body. You have been caring for many demands, and it is easy to feed the physical needs while the spiritual life grows thin. God wants to restore both. He has ordained peace for His people and He wants you to live in it. He is like a shepherd who lies at the door of the fold, watching so that nothing can get to His sheep without passing Him. You can rest because He is awake and keeping watch.
So quiet your mind before Him as you lie down. Turn your thoughts to Him, trust that He has wrought your works in you and will carry what you cannot carry. Ask Him to surround you with His presence, to calm the racing thoughts and the tired body, and to give you deep restorative sleep. He delights to give His beloved rest.
I pray for you now that the Father will draw near and fill you with His peace, that He will grant you quiet and healing sleep and wake you with renewed strength for what lies ahead, and that you will sense His shepherd care through the night and into tomorrow. In the name of Jesus, amen.
