Physically, emotionally exhausted

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Father God, I feel physically and emotionally exhausted. Please surround me with your presence and fill me with your peace. Grant me peaceful, restorative sleep tonight and the strength I need for tomorrow, in Jesus name Amen

We join with you in this prayer and we hear the weariness in your heart, and we thank you for coming honestly before the Father in the name of Jesus. He sees your exhaustion and He does not turn away from it, for He invites the weary to find rest in Him. We are reminded of His promise in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. And in Isaiah 40:29, He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might.

We know how heavy it can feel when the body is tired and the emotions are drained, and God understands that frailty. He is not disappointed in your weariness, He wants to be your refuge and your strength. We encourage you to cast every burden on Him tonight, to release the worries of today and tomorrow into His capable hands, for we are told in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. He also promises His beloved sleep, as it is written in Psalm 127:2, for he gives sleep to his loved ones, and in Psalm 4:8, I will both lay me down and sleep in peace, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety.

We pray together for you now. Father God, we lift up this precious one to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, through whom we have access to Your throne of grace. We ask that You surround them with Your presence tonight, that Your peace which passes all understanding would fill their heart and mind and quiet every anxious thought. Grant them peaceful, deep and restorative sleep, and let Your healing hand renew their body and their spirit. Lay Your hand upon them and guard them through the night, and in the morning renew their strength, for Your mercies are new every morning. Restore to them joy and hope for tomorrow and remind them that when their heart is overwhelmed, You will lead them to the rock that is higher than they are, as You promise in Psalm 61:2. We thank You that You are near to all who call on You through Jesus, and we trust You to carry this burden and to give the strength needed for each new day. We ask all of this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, Amen.

We hear how heavy this exhaustion feels, body and heart both worn down. Thank you for bringing it honestly to the Father and asking Him to surround you with His presence.

Needing rest and strength for tomorrow is such a human, legitimate need. God made us to need sleep, and when we go without good rest everything feels harder emotionally, physically and spiritually. It makes sense you are longing for His peace to settle over you tonight.

We are praying with you for that nearness tonight, that you would sense you are not alone as you lie down, and for renewed strength for what tomorrow holds. If this deep tiredness has been lingering, please consider letting a trusted medical provider know alongside prayer, so someone who knows you can look with you at what is going on and support you well. It can also help to let a pastor or a close friend know you are in a weary stretch so you do not carry it by yourself.

Father, we bring our friend before You tonight. You see how exhausted they feel in body and emotions. Surround them with Your presence and quiet their heart with Your peace. Grant them restorative sleep tonight and the strength they need for tomorrow as You provide it. We trust them into Your care in Jesus name, Amen.

Heaviness of body and heaviness of soul often go together, and the Lord who formed your frame knows how weary you are. He does not despise the cry of the exhausted, for He is the God who gives strength to the faint and who watches over His children in their weakness.

There is a peace which the world cannot give, and it is yours in Christ. The prophet has said, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This is not a peace that depends upon untroubled circumstances, but a peace that lives within, even when duties press and sorrows surge around. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and to do the will of Jesus, even in weariness, is rest. When your mind is stayed upon Him, when you bear your sorrow with Him, you will find that perfect peace which passes all understanding, a peace from lips that cannot lie, through the blood which has made a full atonement.

And this same gracious Father is He who giveth His beloved sleep. What a mercy that sleep is the gift of His love. It is the sleep of a quiet conscience made right with God through Christ, the sleep of contentment in His providence, and the sleep of security under His keeping. Tired nature finds its sweet restorer in that which God Himself bestows, and He would have you lie down in peace and sleep, for He keeps you safe. You may commit both body and soul into His hands tonight, for to be in Jesus keeping is to be safe indeed.

May the Lord now surround you with His presence, which is better than rest itself. May He quiet your thoughts, still your anxious heart, and grant you peaceful and restorative sleep this night. May He renew your strength for tomorrow, for they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, and may you awake to prove again that His mercies are new every morning.

We join our prayer with yours, asking the Father in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our peace and our rest, to fill you with His perfect peace, to give you sleep as to His beloved, and to uphold you day by day until earths struggles shall cease and He calls you to Heavens perfect peace. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your cry of exhaustion has been heard and I have prayed for you before the Lord who sees and knows your weariness.

It is a good and honest prayer to ask for His presence and peace when body and heart are spent. Scripture tells us that the Lord who keeps you neither slumbers nor sleeps, so you can rest even while He watches over you. Jesus Himself invites those who are weary and burdened to come to Him for rest, and He promises a peace that is not like the peace the world gives, a peace that guards the heart and mind even when circumstances remain hard.

I have asked God to surround you with that nearness tonight, to quiet anxious thoughts, to grant you deep and restorative sleep, and to renew your strength for tomorrow. As you lie down, remember that sleep is a gift from His hand, and that He can make the heart settled and wakeful in the right way, not tossed about by worry but at rest in His care.

May the God of peace, who brought back our Lord Jesus from the dead, make you complete and strengthen you in every good thing, working in you what is pleasing in His sight. May He lift the weight you carry, fill you with calm, and give you fresh strength for the day ahead, as those who wait on the Lord renew their strength.

You are not alone in this weariness. Bring every burden to Him again in prayer, rest in His faithful keeping through the night, and trust Him for the grace you need for tomorrow. In Jesus name, Amen.

I hear how weary you are in body and in spirit, and how much you are longing simply to feel surrounded and held and at rest. The Lord sees that exhaustion and He does not ask you to push through in your own power. He invites you to bring that tiredness to Him and to let Him be your strength and your peace.

Scripture speaks of a perfect peace that God keeps over those whose minds remain fixed on Him because they trust Him. That peace is not the absence of trouble around you, but the presence of Christ within you. Jesus told His disciples that He leaves His own peace with them and gives His peace to them, a peace that is different from anything the world can offer. The apostle Peter describes it as a peace that goes beyond human understanding, guarding the heart and mind in Christ. In order to know that settled peace within, we first need peace with God, and that peace has been made possible only through the blood of Jesus. When you have come to Him for forgiveness and belong to Him, you can then experience His peace filling your heart even while life feels chaotic. It comes as you turn your thoughts toward Him, keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He will take care of what concerns you. God has ordained peace for His people because He wants you to live in peace, and His Word says He has accomplished the work needed to give it to you.

You also asked for strength, and His promise is that He Himself is the strength of your life. It is not your own strength that must carry you. The Lord is described as everlasting strength, and we are called to trust in Him continually. One psalm says the Lord will give strength to His people and then bless His people with peace. Both are gifts from His hand. He is like a shepherd who watches over His flock, a door of protection so that nothing comes to you without passing through His care. Even in sleep He keeps watch. He gives rest to those He loves, and He can quiet your heart long enough for deep, restorative sleep and then renew you for what lies ahead.

May the Lord draw near to you now and make His presence real to you. May He lift the weight you have been carrying and replace inner turmoil with His calm. As you lie down to sleep, may He quiet your thoughts, guard your heart, and grant you deep and healing rest under His watch. And as you rise, may you go in the strength of the Lord your God, not your own, trusting Him moment by moment. He is your light and your salvation, your shield and your help, and He will not forsake you when your strength feels gone. May His Word be your portion and may He bless you with His strength, His peace, and His love in Jesus name, Amen.
