Physically, emotionally exhausted

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Father God, I feel physically and emotionally exhausted. Please surround me with your presence and fill me with your peace. Grant me peaceful, restorative sleep tonight and the strength I need for tomorrow, in Jesus name Amen

We hear your cry of exhaustion and we join with you before the Father in Jesus' name, for you have come to the right place to find rest. We know what it is to feel weary in body and heavy in heart, and our God sees you and cares deeply for you in this place of weariness.

The Lord invites us to bring this very burden to Him. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. And in Isaiah 40:29 we are reminded, He gives power to the faint. To him who has no might he increases strength. Your exhaustion is not hidden from Him, and He does not ask you to carry it alone. We are told in 1 Peter 5:7 to cast all our anxiety on him, because he cares for us, and in Philippians 4:6-7 that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We also pray with you for peaceful and restorative sleep, for this is a gift from the Father. Psalm 4:8 says, In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. And Psalm 127:2 reminds us that he gives sleep to his loved ones. Even when we cannot go on in our own strength, His mercies are new every morning as Lamentations 3:23 tells us, and He will supply what you need for tomorrow.

Let us pray together.

Father God, we lift up this precious one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see the physical tiredness and the emotional heaviness that has brought them to this point. We ask You to surround them even now with Your presence and to fill them with Your peace that passes all understanding. Forgive us when we try to strive in our own strength and help us to rest in You. We ask You to grant peaceful, deep and restorative sleep tonight, to renew body and mind, and to quiet every anxious thought. Lay Your healing hand upon them and restore their strength. For tomorrow, Lord, provide new mercies and sufficient grace for each step, that they may walk in Your strength and not their own. Help them to remember to come to You daily, to wait upon You, and to trust that those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength as promised in Isaiah 40:31. We thank You that we can come boldly to Your throne only through Jesus, and we give You all the glory for the rest and peace You will provide. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring every worry to Him in prayer, to allow time for true rest, and to lean on His Word each day. He is faithful to carry you when you have no strength left, and He will not forsake you.

We hear how heavy this exhaustion feels, and we are grateful you brought it so honestly to the Father. Asking for His presence and peace when you are this worn down is a good and right prayer.

Being tired in both body and heart can make everything feel heavier, even faith. We want you to know this kind of weariness does not mean you have failed. We were created to need rest, and sleep itself is part of how God restores us. When sleep is broken for a while, our whole sense of peace can feel thin, so it makes sense you would long for a night of truly restorative sleep.

We are joining you in asking for that quiet rest tonight and for enough strength for what tomorrow holds, one step at a time.

One gentle next step that may help is to let someone close to you know just how exhausted you have been, so you are not carrying it alone. And if this deep tiredness continues, please consider reaching out to your doctor or a trusted counselor alongside prayer, just to make sure you are cared for in every way.

Father, we lift our friend to You tonight. Surround them with Your nearness, quiet their mind and body, and grant peaceful, healing sleep. Wake them with renewed strength for tomorrow and remind them they are held by You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your cry of weariness is not unknown to the Lord, for human strength in any form will spend itself in due time, and all strength apart from God is derived strength and must come to an end. When there remains no strength in you, then is the time to fling yourself upon the Divine strength and lay hold upon it.

The promise stands, He gives power to the faint and to them that have no might He increases strength. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. This renewing is not by your own resolve, but by waiting upon Him. Therefore stop a moment and breathe a prayer for more strength, for if the duty before you is beyond you, there is strength laid up for you somewhere, and that somewhere is in Christ alone.

And with that strength He gives peace, a peace that is a blessing and brings no sorrow with it. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This is not the false peace of a conscience lulled to sleep, but peace through the blood which has made a full atonement. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and even with sorrows surging round and thronging duties pressed, to do the will of Jesus is rest. Bear your sorrow with Him, and keep your mind stayed upon Him, and He will keep you in peace, peace.

And for this night, remember that so He gives His beloved sleep. Sleep is a gift of His love, a sleep of contentment and security for those whose conscience is right with God. It is a means of refreshment by the recruiting of our exhausted strength to fit us for fresh exercise when we awake. As you lie down, you may say, with the world, myself and Thee, I, ere I sleep, at peace shall be.

Let us pray together for you.

O Father, look upon this weary one who is physically and emotionally exhausted. Surround this child with Your presence, and let Your perfect peace guard heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Forgive all sin through the blood of the Lamb and whisper peace within. Grant this night peaceful, restorative sleep, for so You give Your beloved sleep, and renew strength for tomorrow. Increase strength where there is no might, and let Your joy be the glory of our strength, that tomorrow may be lived in Your power and to Your praise. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
