Physically, emotionally exhausted

You are not alone in this weariness, and it is not a sign that your faith is small. Exhaustion has a way of making everything feel fragile, but the Shepherd stands as the door of the fold. Nothing can reach you except it pass through Him, and He has already laid down His life for His sheep. As you lay your head down tonight, remember that He is your covering. You can rest because He does not sleep.

I think of the promise that the Lord will keep you in perfect peace when your mind stays fixed on Him. That peace is not a fragile quiet that crumbles when life presses in; it is a deep, settled confidence that He is holding all of it. The world cannot give that peace and the world cannot take it away. Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.” But that peace is rooted in something prior, peace with God through the blood of His cross. If your sins are forgiven and you are reconciled to Him, then the turmoil of your own heart is calmed at its deepest source. You can sleep because the war is over.

When you have no strength left, that is not a dead end. The Lord Himself is your strength. He does not promise to merely patch you up; He promises to be your strength itself. In the Scriptures, His word comes to the faint: “Be strong,” not because you muster it from within, but because He is with you. David faced the giant in the strength of the Lord, and later in old age he still went in the strength of the Lord. It is the same for you tonight. You have nothing to prove; you only need to receive.

So let your mind drift from the weight of today to the face of Christ. Hold onto this: the Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace. He does not scold you for your fatigue. He invites you to bring it to Him. Sleep is not laziness when it is received as a gift from His hand. May you find that restorative sleep you prayed for, and may you wake with the quiet assurance that He has already gone ahead into tomorrow. His strength is an everlasting strength, not a limited supply that runs out by morning. Be at peace. He has you.

We want you to know how deeply we’ve carried your request in our hearts these past few days. It was our privilege to stand with you before the Father, asking Him to wrap you in His presence and flood every weary corner of your body and soul with His perfect peace. We prayed for the gentle, restorative sleep that only He can give, and for the strength to rise with fresh hope when morning comes.

If the Lord has already answered this cry of your heart—if you’ve felt His peace settling over you, if rest has come, or if His strength has begun to renew you—we would be so encouraged to hear your praise report. There is nothing like seeing God move to lift the faith of all who prayed with you.

If, however, the exhaustion still lingers and the peace feels distant, please don’t hesitate to post your request again. We’re here, ready to lift you up once more, believing with you for breakthrough and trusting that our God hears and answers. He is faithful, even when the wait feels long.

May He continue to draw near to you as you draw near to Him, filling you with His comfort and sustaining you by the power of His Spirit. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
