Prayer

Thank you Heavenly Father for this beautiful day. I pray for deliverance, peace, rest, forgiveness, and that you would rebuke this evil and remove it, in the name of Jesus Christ. Please grant me peace and freedom from constant attacks and suffering my Lord. Please stop what it is doing currently my Lord.

Please also forgive me for my sins. Please also heal any unforgiveness I may have. I would be so grateful my Lord. In Jesus Christ precious name. Amen

We hear your heartfelt cry for deliverance, peace, and rest, and we stand with you in agreement, lifting your request before the throne of grace. Your prayer reflects a deep longing for the freedom and wholeness that only God can provide, and we are grateful that you have come before Him in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is by His authority that every knee must bow, whether in heaven, on earth, or under the earth, as Philippians 2:9-11 declares. There is no other name by which we can be saved or delivered (Acts 4:12), and we rejoice that you have called upon Him.

We recognize the weight of the spiritual attacks and suffering you are enduring, and we take authority over every scheme of the enemy that seeks to steal, kill, or destroy in your life. The Word of God assures us that "the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds" (2 Corinthians 10:4). We rebuke every spirit of oppression, fear, torment, and affliction that has been sent against you, and we command it to flee in the name of Jesus Christ. The Lord has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that you are covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

We also acknowledge your humble plea for forgiveness and healing from unforgiveness. The Lord is faithful and just to forgive us our sins when we confess them (1 John 1:9), and He calls us to forgive others as He has forgiven us (Colossians 3:13). Unforgiveness can become a heavy burden that hinders our peace and rest, but the Lord invites you to cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). We pray that the Holy Spirit would soften your heart and help you release any bitterness or resentment, replacing it with the peace of Christ that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the authority we have in Your name to stand against the schemes of the enemy. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your deliverance and protection over their life. We rebuke every spirit of oppression, fear, and torment that has been attacking them, and we command it to leave now in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and we ask You to surround them with Your angels for protection.

Father, we ask for Your peace to flood their heart, mind, and spirit. Let Your rest settle over them like a blanket, calming every storm and silencing every lie of the enemy. We pray for healing from unforgiveness, both for any sins they have committed and for any bitterness they may harbor toward others. Create in them a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10). Help them to walk in the freedom and forgiveness that You have so graciously given.

Lord, we also ask for Your strength and comfort as they navigate this season. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Fill them with Your joy and hope, and let them experience the fullness of Your love and grace. We thank You for hearing our prayer and for moving mightily on their behalf. May Your will be done in their life, and may Your name be glorified. In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, knowing that the Lord is fighting for you. Continue to seek Him through prayer, reading His Word, and fellowship with other believers. The enemy may try to wear you down, but remember that "greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4). You are not alone, and the Lord will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He will lead you into the peace and rest you so deeply desire.

We join you in thanking the Father for this day and for drawing you to Himself even in the middle of such heavy trial. What you are asking for, deliverance, rest, forgiveness, and an end to the constant suffering, is a cry we take seriously, and we are standing with you.

When the attacks feel relentless, sometimes the most grounding thing we can do is plant our feet on what is already true and unchanging, even when our emotions cannot feel it. The very passage you reached for reminds us that Jesus’ name stands above everything else, every power, every scheme, every source of fear. That doesn’t mean the battle isn’t real or exhausting, but it means the outcome has already been settled, and we can rest in His authority even while we wait for the relief to come fully into our experience.

One quiet but concrete step that has helped many in seasons like this is to deliberately turn the heart toward gratitude, not as a forced cheerful checklist, but as a gentle way of lifting our eyes off the storm. Even three small specific thanks each day shifts the inner posture and opens space for peace. And regarding the unforgiveness you named, we often need to ask the Lord to first show us what we might still be holding. When He does, you can make a clear decision to release that person into His hands, even while your feelings take longer to heal. That act of the will is what the Scriptures honor, and He will meet you in the process.

Let’s pray now. Father, we thank You that Jesus has been given the name above every name. We declare His authority over every attack and every source of suffering in this dear one’s life, and we ask You to rebuke what is evil and remove it. Bring tangible peace, deep rest, and fresh freedom. Forgive every sin and gently heal every place where unforgiveness has lodged. Cover this life with Your protection, and let the rest that only You can give settle over mind and spirit, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

How often the heart cries out for peace when the storm of affliction beats upon it, yet many seek it in cisterns that hold no water. You have looked to the exalted Christ, whose name is above every name, and you have asked for deliverance, rest, and the rebuke of the evil one. This is a right beginning, kneeling where every knee must bow, and confessing that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. True peace can never be found at the expense of truth, for there are those who cry “Peace, peace,” when there is no peace; the devil himself would lull the soul to sleep that his power might remain unbroken. But the peace of God, which passes all understanding, is a blessing without sorrow, it whispers through the blood of Jesus, a peace that the world cannot give and cannot take away.

That peace is yours when your mind is stayed upon Him, trusting not in your own frames or feelings, but in the finished work of the Lamb. You have prayed for deliverance from constant attacks. Remember the night when Pharaoh held Israel, yet when the lamb was slain, deliverance came. Christ our Passover has been sacrificed for us, and the ransom is found, not by human invention, but by the free grace of God. He has given commandment to save you, and you shall be saved from the pit, from the archers who shoot in the darkness, and from the malicious power of the evil one. Your own strength cannot secure this freedom, but He who brought you out of slavery will bring you forth with silver and gold, and none of His people shall be feeble. The debt is paid, and the prison doors are open.

You ask for rest, yet you feel sorrows surging round. Think not that this is strange. Christ Himself was made perfect through suffering, not that He lacked moral perfection, but as the Captain of our salvation He was fitted to be a merciful and faithful High Priest. He suffered being tempted, He drank the bitter cup without rebellion, and all the power of His holy Being went into that obedience. Therefore He knows the weight of innocent suffering, the sharpness of slander, the deep pain of being afflicted while doing good. His sympathy flows from His own trials, and He is able to succor those who are tempted. When you are assailed, look unto Him. Bear your sorrow with Him, and you will find that doing the will of Jesus, this is rest indeed.

You have pleaded for forgiveness and for healing from any unforgiveness in your own heart. This is a mark of grace. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all sin; He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. But also remember that we are called to forgive as we have been forgiven. The peace that Christ gives will break down every wall of bitterness, for it is a peace that comes from a heart that cannot change. If any root of bitterness troubles you, bring it to the cross and let it die there. No unforgiveness can stand where the love of God is shed abroad in the heart by the Holy Ghost.

As for the evil you would have rebuked, know this, that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of things in heaven, and earth, and under the earth. The enemy’s horns are stamped with his own image, and his power is already broken by the Seed of the woman. He may shoot his arrows and cause you to hear the noise of archers, but the Lord shall deliver you from them all. Your true liberty is not freedom to commit evil, but deliverance to run in the ways of holiness without hindrance. Rest in this: Christ has vanquished death and all its powers, and soon the struggles of earth shall cease. Jesus calls us to heaven’s perfect peace. Until that day, hold fast your confidence. He who has found a ransom will not let you go down into the pit. The Lord will bless His people with peace, and nothing shall separate you from His love.

You ask for deliverance, peace, rest, forgiveness, and rightly you begin with that great confession: every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Hold fast to that name; there is no other given under heaven by which we must be saved. But understand what this peace truly is that you seek. It is not a mere truce with suffering while the disease within remains. The physician does not leave the gangrenous limb to rot; he cuts it off that the whole body may live. True peace comes when the mutinous part is removed, when sin is severed, when the war within you ceases because you have surrendered wholly to God. For concord is not in every case good, robbers may agree together, but their peace is destruction. The peace of Christ is righteousness and joy in the Holy Spirit, not a quiet life with tolerated sin.

You ask forgiveness, and you shall have it, for the Lord is rich in mercy. But do not merely ask; examine whether you hold unforgiveness toward any. The mercy-seat of heaven speaks of greater things than wars and earthly peace, it speaks of the life to come. If you cling to resentment, you make schism first in your own soul, then with your brother. The peacemakers are called sons of God; the makers of disturbance, sons of the devil. Therefore, be reconciled not only to God but to every person against whom you harbor a grudge. Let there be no secret carping, no division, for by such things the good doctrine is blasphemed. If you see that someone has wronged you, remember that your own sins against God are infinitely greater. Forgive as you have been forgiven, or your prayer is mockery.

You suffer constant attacks, and you cry out for deliverance. See how the Spirit led Christ into the wilderness to be tempted: the devil assails most when he finds a person isolated and alone. Do not wander off by yourself into despair. Flock together with the faithful; let the Church be your fortress. The angels of the little ones behold the face of the Father, your angel attends you, but so does the demon, watching for an opening. Be sober, then, and stand firm. The greaves upon your feet are the preparation of the gospel of peace: a life of virtue, a readiness to walk in the way of the Lord. This is the conflict that ends the far greater war, the war between you and God. Since Christ has made peace through His blood, you now fight the evil spirits from a position of victory. They cannot harm you if you refuse their foothold.

And what of rest? There remains a rest for the people of God, not the rest of idleness, but the eternal Sabbath where all striving against sin is done. Do not harden your heart as Israel did in the wilderness; they were excluded because of unbelief. The promise stands. Your present afflictions are the spirit’s wilderness, but he who endures to the end shall enter that rest. Therefore, rejoice! Be perfected, be comforted, be of the same mind, live in peace, with God first, then with all men, as far as it depends on you. And the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Go now, and make your prayer not only for deliverance from suffering, but for holiness without which no one will see the Lord. Rebuke the evil by turning from it entirely. Let the name of Jesus be your constant breath, and bow your knee in heart as well as tongue. The enemy shall flee, for the Lord is your helper.

I hear your cry for rest and deliverance, and the scripture you open with holds the key. God has indeed exalted Christ to the highest place, giving him the name above every name. At that name, every enemy must one day bow. That includes whatever evil is tormenting you right now. Its power is not ultimate; Christ’s authority is. So you are standing on solid ground when you come in Jesus’ name.

Now, let me speak directly to the peace and rest you long for. There is a difference between having peace with God and having the peace of God. When you confess your sins, the blood of Christ cleanses you. The war with your Maker ends. You are no longer a rebel; you are his child. That peace with God is foundational. But you are asking for more, you are asking for the deep, inner peace of God that guards your heart and mind, even while the storm still rages around you. That peace is not found in the absence of battle, but in a place of rest.

The only place you will ever find real rest is in faith. It is not in your own ability to fight the darkness, in your own efforts to be holy, or in trying to figure out every spiritual attack. If you try to find rest in your own skill, your own works, or your own frantic striving, you will end up like the troubled sea Isaiah described, constantly churning, unable to be still. The very turmoil you feel, the relentless inner churning, can be a sign that you are still trying to produce peace on your own. You cannot. He offers a different way.

That way is total abandonment to him in trust. This is the rest that remains for the people of God, ceasing from your own works, just as God rested from his. For the believer, Christ himself is our Sabbath rest. Entering into him means we stop striving to win a battle he already won. When your mind is stayed on him, fixed on his faithfulness and not on the storm, he keeps you in perfect peace. This is not about becoming perfect in your behavior, but about finding a place of quiet confidence in his finished work. It is saying, “Lord, I cannot stop this attack, but you can. I am resting in you to do what I cannot do for myself.”

Regarding the evil you want rebuked, you have to be very careful. I see in scripture that even Michael the archangel did not bring a railing accusation against the devil, but said, “The Lord rebuke thee.” He did not rely on his own angelic authority but deferred to the ultimate authority of God. It is the Lord who rebukes Satan. My counsel is not to get into prolonged, direct confrontations with the enemy in your own name, but rather to pray exactly as you have: asking your heavenly Father himself to rebuke the works of darkness. The Lord’s face is against those who do evil. He is your shield, so let him handle the direct assault. Your part is to draw near to your protector.

Finally, you asked for forgiveness and for healing from any unforgiveness in you. That is the heart of the matter and the first step toward real rest. The fear of the Lord is to hate evil. Ask him to give you a heart that despises the sin that entangles you, not just the suffering it brings. As you turn from it and receive his mercy, a marvelous thing happens: the inner war quiets down. The wisdom from above is peaceable. When you sow peace, you reap a harvest of righteousness. Let him soften your heart right now. Forgive those who have wronged you, not because they deserve it, but because it releases the poison from your own soul and makes room for his peace.

The Father wants you to have a full life, to see good days. So refrain your tongue from evil, turn away from it, and pursue peace. Let your prayer be: “Lord, I cannot produce peace or defeat this darkness. I commit my life wholly into your hands. Rebuke the enemy for me. I am resting in you.” That total commitment is the place of perfect peace, no longer a stormy sea but a child asleep in the boat with his Lord.
