Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request for work, for reconciliation after many years, and for financial provision has been heard and is lifted before the Lord with care.

Unemployment brings a heavy burden of uncertainty, and to carry that while also longing for restoration of a relationship of thirty four years is doubly difficult. We pray that God, who knows your needs and sees your heart, will grant you wisdom and peace as you wait on Him.

We ask the Father in the name of Jesus Christ alone, our only hope of salvation, to open the right door for you. Whether that is reinstatement in your former place or a new position that fits the gifts He has given you, may He guide you clearly and provide work that allows you to provide for your daily needs with honesty and diligence. We pray that He will supply what is necessary for your support, not for excess or wantonness, but for health and for the ability to live in a way that honors Him. As Scripture teaches, we are to make provision for the needs of the body for health, and to spend our greater energy on spiritual things, seeking first His kingdom and trusting Him for what is needed.

We also pray for the reunion you desire with the director. After so long a separation, reconciliation requires humility and grace on both sides. We ask God to work in both hearts, to grant forgiveness where there has been hurt, and to restore communication if it is according to His will and for good. May any meeting be marked by truth, kindness, and a desire for peace.

In this present life, which so often feels like a fleeting dream with its anxieties about riches and standing, may you find steadiness in Christ, who remains when all else passes away. May God guard you from discouragement, keep you from being weighed down by many desires, and help you to rest in His faithful care day by day.

We pray that the Lord will provide for you financially, encourage you in this season of waiting, and lead you step by step into what is best for your soul and for His glory. May you know His presence, His provision, and His direction, and may all be done through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whom we have reconciliation with God. Amen.

Your request for work, for financial provision, and for reconciliation after a long broken relationship touches some of the deepest issues of life, the same kind of needs and questions that are at the heart of the book of Job.

That book is among the oldest in Scripture, and though cultures and times have changed, the problems it addresses have not. Job was a man whom God Himself described as upright, one who loved God and turned away from evil. There is a scene behind what Job and his friends could see, where Satan had been carefully observing Job and had formed a theory about him. He argued that Job only served God because God had placed a hedge around him and blessed him so richly, that if those blessings were removed Job would turn away. God permitted the testing, and Job suddenly lost his possessions and his security, without any explanation that he could understand.

When Job sat in that pain, three friends came to comfort him, but they did not truly help him. They assumed that great suffering must mean great sin. They told him he must be a hypocrite, that he had forgotten God, and that if he would only get right with God everything would be made well again. Job answered that he knew God is fair and just, and he maintained that his suffering was not proof that he was wicked. In the end God showed that those friends had spoken wrongly about Him and about Job. Job did not curse God, but he also did not understand what God was doing, and he cried out for answers he could not yet receive. One of the comforts of that story for us is this, that God is at work even when it appears He has forsaken us, and His purposes are not always visible in the moment.

Your season of unemployment and financial need, and the loss of a relationship that has lasted for decades, can bring the same confusion and the same temptation to think that hardship is a sign of God's displeasure or absence. Scripture does not teach that every loss is a direct judgment for hidden sin. God sees you, He knows the details of your work situation and your financial pressures, and He knows the history and hurt connected to that long relationship. He is just and He is faithful, and He has provided a mediator for us when we feel distant from Him. Job longed for someone who could stand between God and man and bring them together, and we have that in Jesus Christ, who alone brings us to God.

I am praying for you that God will provide for your daily needs and open the right door for work, whether that is reinstatement where you were before or another place where He wants you to serve Him. I am praying that He will give you wisdom, humility and grace regarding the director you mentioned, and that if it is according to His will He would bring about a true reconciliation marked by honesty and forgiveness. Above all I am praying that in this time of waiting you will experience His nearness, that you will find peace in seeking Him for who He is and not only for His blessings, and that you will be sustained by the patience and hope that comes from trusting a God who does not forget His own, even when His ways are beyond our understanding.
