Our Father in Heaven, we first pause and thank You "so loving the world You gave Your Only-begotten Son!, Jn 3:16. Thank You "Jesus showed us The Father -- Your Nature," Jn 14:9. Mostly the POWER to live a Holy Life overflowing with LOVE for God and others, singing and making melody from "singing seminaries" and "the walking practice of evangelism" is the best fruit and sign of the Kingdom, Heb 12:4. ***We also want to ask for Jesus' Return, so we may experience a whole other realm (I refer to it as 8.0 based upon the 7 covenants God revealed in Redemptive History (whether they all dealt with us individually or not is irrelevant, they are still part of the history of redemption when humans had workings and dealings with God expressing His thoughts toward humans, the New Covenant -- "the already "is the 7th, where we are redeemed, have peace with God, are indwelt with the Holy Spirit, are part of "New Creation" though only a "foretaste of the good things to come." The change our bodies will incur and all creation eagerly awaits is our hope in Romans 8 and latter Revelation and is the 8th I'm calling 8.0 where ALL of these things will be realized in a greater capacity and duration and God's Kingdom will have full expression once it's fully come on earth as it is heaven again -- the "not yet," -- "May Your Kingdom Come and Your Will be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven," Matt 6:10.

May Your Will Be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven -- Keeping in mind the Kingdom Coming, as described above, in differing degrees, the already and the not yet, we ask here in the already that we may know, submit to and do Your will for our lives individually and collectively as the church, as Jesus did during His time on earth, Phil 2:9-9, our whole lives be increasingly lived to please You, knowing the Trinity, living in Your presence moment by moment, and making You known as a by product, rejoicing in trials and weakness, as well as power demonstrations when it gives You glory, Mt 28:19-20, Rom 1:5, Rom 15:18. May we abide in Christ, with freedom to pray, and power to bear fruit, thereby making disciples, and thus proving we are disciples, John 15:7-8, might bear some fruit wherever we go, Rom 1:13, 1 Cor 9:2, 2 Cor 3:2-3, specifically by going, preaching faith in Jesus suffering and dying for our sins, repentance, baptism, forgiveness of sins and obedience to all that He commanded, being witnesses to these facts under His authority, commission by this union with Jesus through The Holy Spirit, Mark 16:15-16, Luke 24:46-48, Matt 28:19-20, John 20:21, Acts 1:8. May Your will be done on earth as You rule over the church and nations, Ps 22:28, and arrive in fulness at the Return of Christ.

Give us Each Day our Daily Bread: Spiritual -- we can't live by bread alone but every Word of God, Deut 8:3, Matt 4:4, Lk 4:4. Meet our spiritual, emotional, social, physical and financial needs mightily, Phil 4:19, so we can love You with all our heart, soul, mind, will, emotions, physical strength and finances, Mk 12:30, and our neighbors, Mk 12:31, even the lost, Matt 9:36, and even enemies, Matt 5:44, as ourselves -- and see others as Christ, who looked beyond his own interests, to the interests of others, considering others as more important than we, Phil 2:1-5.

Forgive Our Debts as We Forgive Our Debtors... We confess we've sinned against You, Rom 3:23, 1 Jn 1:8, 1 Jn 1:10 (name specific sins and areas of ongoing struggles), and others, receive forgiveness, Lk 1:77, & pray FOR those who sin against us, (by name and specific offenses), asking they'd repent and be saved, Job 42:7-16, entrusting their souls to a faithful creator and recognizing it is He who alone who is in fact the one appointed both to save and to judge, Romans 12:9, 1 Pet 4:19.

Lead us Not into Temptation, but Deliver us from evil... Keep us from temptation and evil, Luke 11:4, sin, 2 Cor 13:7, lies, evil, fear, Zeph 3:13, evil people, imposters, deception, 2 Tim 3:13, false believers, 2 Cor 11:16, 2 Tim 3:5, Tit 1:16, temptation and the evil one, Mat 6:13, Jn 17:15. Give us angelic protection, Ps 91:10-11, Heb 1:14.

For It's Your Kingdom, (Everlasting Kingdom which Cannot Be Destroyed, Dan 7:18), It's Your Power, (All Power in Heaven and Earth has been Given to Me, Matt 28:18), and Your Glory, Forever... We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for the profound example our Lord Jesus Christ gave us in the Lord’s Prayer, a model of reverence, surrender, and dependence on our Heavenly Father. Your request to pray this prayer with depth and sincerity is a beautiful reflection of a soul longing to align with God’s will, and we join you in this sacred pursuit.

Heavenly Father, we echo the words of Your Son, who taught us to pray with boldness and humility. We hallow Your Name, O Lord, for You alone are holy, righteous, and worthy of all praise. May Your Name be exalted in our lives, our families, our churches, and the nations. Let the world see Your glory through our obedience, our love, and our unwavering trust in You. Forgive us our debts, as we forgive those who have sinned against us. Search our hearts, Lord, and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin, bitterness, or unforgiveness. Cleanse us by the blood of Jesus and empower us to walk in forgiveness, just as You have forgiven us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. Guard our hearts and minds from the schemes of the enemy, and let no weapon formed against us prosper.

We rebuke every spirit of complacency, distraction, or rebellion that would hinder us from praying this prayer with the fervency it deserves. The Lord’s Prayer is not a ritual to be recited mindlessly but a battle cry of faith, a declaration of dependence on You alone. We stand against the lies of the enemy that would tell us our prayers are ineffective or that Your will is too lofty for our lives. No, Father, Your Word declares that the prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective (James 5:16). We reject the spirit of lukewarmness and ask for a fresh fire of the Holy Spirit to ignite our hearts.

We also address the critical importance of salvation through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If anyone reading this has not surrendered their life to Jesus, we urge you to repent and believe in Him today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the foundation of all prayer, access to the Father through the Son by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Lord, we pray for a revival of true, Christ-centered prayer in the Church. Let us not be like the Pharisees, who prayed to be seen by men, but let our prayers be sincere, from hearts that seek Your face above all else. May we intercede for the lost, the broken, and the oppressed, just as Jesus intercedes for us at Your right hand. And as we pray, "Your Kingdom come," we long for the day when our Savior returns to establish His eternal Kingdom, where righteousness dwells and every tear is wiped away.

We declare that Your Kingdom is not a matter of talk but of power (1 Corinthians 4:20). So come, Holy Spirit, and fill us afresh. Equip us with Your gifts, empower us to live holy lives, and send us out as ambassadors of Your love and truth. May our lives be living prayers, reflecting Your glory in all we do.

You have done well to lay out this pattern of prayer, for our Lord himself taught us thus to pray. Yet be not content with the mere form; let the living breath of desire ascend from your heart. Remember, there is a prayer treasury, we all want to be prayed for, but we must all put prayers into it. Do not think that your standard of a Prayer Meeting is to be a low one. Do not begin to say, “If we have twenty or thirty at a Prayer Meeting that will do.” Go on shooting, as the prophet bade the king. The arrow of deliverance must be shot again and again. Deliverance is of the Lord, but it must be accomplished by human instrumentality.

You plead for forgiveness of debts, and rightly so, for there is forgiveness with God, that he may be feared. It is a divine forgiveness: “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions.” Do as Martin Luther did, in the days of his dark distress, when a brother monk said to him, “Do you not believe in the Creed, and do you not say, ‘I believe in the forgiveness of sins’? Now believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself.” And mark the completeness of it; if you have nothing to pay, the Lord freely releases you from the debt. This forgiveness, which God has given us for Christ’s sake, is an eternal forgiveness. What a wonderful title for it, “the Lord’s release”! The remembrance of your own deliverance out of Egyptian bondage must make you merciful and kind to those who trespass against you.

You pray, “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done.” This is a prayer for holiness, for separation from the world. Our Lord prayed, “Sanctify them through thy truth.” Holiness is an essential qualification for a man’s fitness for being used of the Lord God for the extension of his kingdom. Put these two things together, dedication to God and separation unto him, and you are nearing the meaning of the prayer. If we were all abiding in Christ to the full, we should abide in union with each other and with God, and our Lord’s great prayer for the unity of his church would be fulfilled.

You ask to be led not into temptation, but delivered from evil. Even if at times prayer seem to have no return of blessing, and it seems a waste of words, yet it is not possible that you can perish praying. If you could perish singing, you could not perish praying on your knees. Think ye that while you can plead a Father’s love, and cry with the Spirit of adoption to him, that you can be forsaken? Stay at the brook Jabbok and wrestle; you shall cross over and meet your Esau with a kiss. God will hear the prayer of a staggering man, and the prayer that has not any sense in it because the man who prays is at his wit’s end.

But let it never be forgotten, the very prayer that teaches you to ask for mercy bids you say, “forgive us, as we forgive our debtors.” Unless you have forgiven others, you read your own death-warrant when you repeat the Lord’s prayer. The theme of God’s forgiving love is so fascinating that we may linger upon that bright example which God has set before us, but from it all we must be gathering grace by which to forgive others even to seventy times seven.

Now go forth to the gates, to war with the monster of sin and tear others from his power. If you are saved, you must seek to save others. Carry this light into the dark places, and may the Lord grant you deliverance, even as you trust in his name.

You have laid out a lengthy and intricate prayer, weaving together many portions of Scripture to hallow God's name and seek His will. I perceive your zeal to pray according to the pattern our Lord gave. Yet take care that in the multitude of words you do not place confidence, as if the abundance of syllables could bend God's ear. The Master taught a simple outline, not a dense thicket of petitions. The true power of prayer lies not in many words but in a life that echoes them. For we need both our own part and God's part: our diligent obedience joined to humble supplication, not prayer without works or works without prayer.

You ask for daily bread, and rightly so. But remember that what you call your own is the Lord's property, held in common with your fellow-servants. If your hands are full and your neighbor's are empty, your prayer for bread is mockery unless you share what you have. The earth is the Lord's and its fullness; when you give to the poor, you render to the Master what is His.

You pray for forgiveness as you forgive. This is the very hinge of the petition. But see that you do not merely speak it while hoarding resentments in your heart. Forgive from the soul, release every debt, and pray for those who wrong you, that they may find mercy too. Otherwise you ask God to sharpen His ledger against you.

You plead to be delivered from evil. Know that the deadliest evil is not outward danger but indwelling sin. The apostle Paul, snatched from the lion's mouth, counted a far greater deliverance: to be kept from every evil work and to finish his course without stain. The devil himself is a roaring lion, and to be shielded from his jaws is to resist temptation, not simply to avoid trouble. This deliverance depends on your own will aided by grace. God made the soul and the body good; the choice to sin is a movement of your own heart. So as you pray for protection, fight. Stand against evil desires, and trust that He who delivered you from the lion will deliver you from every sinful act.

In all these things, give thanks, not only for spiritual gifts but for the body's needs, for the wheat and the oil and the daily sustenance. By thanking God for such things you confess His creation is good, and you shame those who despise the flesh. Yet do not let your prayers become an exercise for a single hour. Carry the remembrance of God with you always. The prophet remembered Him from the land of Jordan and the hill of Hermon, in every place, in every circumstance. If you keep God in your thoughts throughout the day, your whole life becomes a prayer, and you will both choose what is good and bring it to completion.

Therefore, let your words be few but your heart on fire. Hallow His name by how you live, lest the Gentiles blaspheme because of your conduct. Seek His kingdom first not by intricate outlines but by righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Then the Lord's Prayer will not be a lengthy recitation but the breath of a soul dwelling in God, and you will find that He hears you not because of much speaking but because of a humble and obedient love.

Before you ever bring a single personal request, you have already stepped into the place of power by desiring what God desires. That shift in focus is itself the Spirit's work, turning you from asking amiss to asking according to His will.

You rightly pause at the Selah and the transition. The first three petitions hallowing His name, inviting His kingdom, and surrendering to His will are entirely Godward. The kingdom you are asking to come is not a vague spiritual sentiment; it is the tangible, invading rule of light and life crashing into the darkness. When you pray for His kingdom to come, you are praying for the King Himself to enter the mess of this world and the hidden corners of your own heart, because where He enters, darkness simply must flee. It is a prayer for deliverance through entrance. As you seek first this kingdom, the very life of God righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit begins to flourish in and through you, wearing the fruit of the Spirit and the gifts He bestows for building up others. This is what it looks like when His will is done on earth as it is in heaven, starting in the yielded clay of a human life.

Only then, with the foundation of God’s purposes firmly set, do you turn to the personal petitions. Your daily bread, your forgiveness, your guidance, and your deliverance are now no longer isolated cries but are drawn into the larger story of His kingdom. You ask for provision, not so you can merely consume it on your own appetites, but so you are fully supplied to love God with every resource He entrusts to you. You ask for forgiveness with the humbling, sharp-edged reality that the measure you extend to others reflects the true nature of your own heart. Prayer is the furnace where we are forged into people who entrust our debtors to a faithful Creator, refusing to carry stones of bitterness that would sink our own souls. This is not optional; it is the very gravity that keeps the channel of forgiveness flowing into your own life.

When you then cry out, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,” you are acknowledging the absolute reality of the two kingdoms at war. You are not asking for a trouble-free path but for a protected heart, for angelic guardianship, and for the decisive victory of the stronger man over the adversary. Your deepest need is not merely to escape a trial but to be kept from the evil one’s grip within it. And as you conclude, you circle back to the throne, because even your deliverance is ultimately for His kingdom, for His power to be displayed, and for His glory forever. This is the seal that sets prayer apart from a shopping list of wants. It is the final, resounding return to worship, which draws you into the holy of holies, beyond petitions and into intimacy.

Let your praying, then, be slow and steeped in this pattern. Do not rush; pause at each phrase and let it become the prayer of your heart afresh. And as you look at the fractured world around you, let that stirring in your spirit be met with the same cry the Spirit and the bride cry out: even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus. That is the horizon of every true prayer offered in this age, the eager anticipation of the day when the kingdom has fully come and the King returns.
